"The infinity pool with salt water was so great."

Whether you're a tourist or traveling on business, Cove 55 is a great choice for accommodation when visiting Kuching. The property is an Ethnic-Inspired hideaway where the naturally untainted foot of Mount Santubong gently welcomes the South China Sea. Where tribal elements subtly influence contemporary sensibilities. Ethnic luxury takes on a refreshingly renewed and refined form at Cove 55.
Built originally as a holiday home for an Iban family, the property is now reborn as a 16 bedroom intimate luxury retreat. A private hideaway that’s infinitely customized to personal tastes and differing occasions. Guests seeking to connect with nature will appreciate the stylish space of the over water platform, designed to seamlessly blend the edge of the infinity pool with the horizon of the South China Sea. Sipping on crafted cocktails served straight from the pool bar, it’s easy to lose track of your idyllic time here marveling at the glorious sunset behind the mountain, or simply enjoying a good book in your lap.
Beyond rejuvenating urban weary souls, it is the owners’ wish to have guests discover and immerse in the pride of Sarawakian land here. While the property highly recommends that guests disconnect from routine and enjoy the luxury of doing nothing, activities for every level of fitness can easily be arranged in the beautiful surrounding jungle. Whatever your reason for visiting Kuching, Cove 55 is the perfect venue for an exhilarating and exciting break away.

We had a great staycation over at Cove 55. The room itself is clean and we love the breakfast served. Swimming pool is fine, I think the floor underneath the pool could be cleaner. The WiFi is very weak in our room though. Overall the look and feel in our room is great and we would come back again someday!
Amazing customer service ”
We stayed here over the December holiday season as a family with a young toddler. The pools are very nice and rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast and service elevated this hotel to an international 5 star level. The manager, Gillian and her staff are the best we encountered over the years of traveling. Gillian went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and valued as guests.
Not value for money especially if u r local”
This hotel will suck your wallet dry
Charge charge charge”
3 families with children planned a trip to this hotel on the 12th Jan 2019. 3 rooms booked. Upon check in, we were told to pay for the second child as the booking only allowed one couple with a children. Each family had 2 children and I had 3 including a 8 months infant. And they tried to charge RM50 too for the infant. We were not informed beforehand, however we willingly paid the extra charges (except the infant as is well written in the policy infant is free) We brought our own food and drinks and we were told only to consume it in the room otherwise cottage fees will be charged. We did order a fried rice there which costed RM50. Towards evening, as the whole pool area was vacant, we requested permission from one of the staffs to let chill and drink at the compound it is too cramp for us to do it in the room, moreover with the children sleeping. Permission was granted. However we were still charged cottage fee upon checking out. One of the friends happened to stay overnight there
Nestled between Mount Santubong and the ocean, a private spot for people seeking for some peace and quiet. Do bring a good book if you plan to stay longer.
Great Service and healthy breakfast spread”
Very clean and well maintained hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our daughter spent all her time in both pools. The breakfast spread was well prepared and has great healthy selections. Staff were friendly and very helpful
Everything was perfect except the aircond. For a RM500 a night room, I was expecting a much quieter aircond but the aircond was really loud. It kind of spoiled the ambience of the area when the aircond sounded like a chain saw.
The first downside, upon check in, was the policy of having to produce identity card for younger children upon checking in. There was no indication or notice provided in the Cove 55 website touching on this matter. As a frequent traveler with family members, even in our stay in 5 stars hotel locally or abroad, they do not ask such a thing. Cove 55 should put the notice in their website for this matter. If this place is for grown up adult, then I would understand. Secondly, another thing that put my holiday mood turned off, even for one night stay, was the facility provided. The shower tab knob (the cold water) was loose terribly and I'd to to push hard to turn on the knob as to balance off with the hot water. Seriously, the management has to do thorough check on this matter, perhaps replacing the damage knob with a new one. Luckily, the air condition air filters were clean. Thirdly, the breakfast provided were limited to our choosing. The pastries were not that good and less choice.
Dear Mr/Mrs Robinson, We are truly sorry to hear that your stay was not as enjoyable as expected; We apologize for the inconvenience you felt of having to provide an identity card for children, as of September 2017 the Malaysian Customs Department introduced new regulations which sadly are out of our control and that we do need to adhere to. Please rest assured it is our standard to contact all our guests prior to arrival to inform them of ID's required for all including children, however as you booked a room for 2 adults only, we were not aware you would have any children staying with you, until your arrival at the hotel. Thank you for brining the shower difficulties to our attention, we have rectified the issue and sincerely apologize this problem occurred during your stay. Thank you for taking the time to complete a review of your stay, as it assists us to strive to continuously improve our facilities and services. Best Regards Cove 55
Heaven in borneo”

Serene, comfort and relax”
We had a very relax staycation over at Cove55 and is definitely a place for any occasion. Bed is comfy, room is clean, bathroom is well designed, and it comes with a coffee machine and few capsules to choose from. The biggest selling point for me is the seaside infinity salt water pool. My family spent total of 2 hrs in the pool, enjoying the view and chlorine-free pool. Breakfast the next day morning is excellent with choices of local and continental food. We will definitely come back again in the future
some place where privacy and quality ”
clean , quite, private and comfortable.
A piece of heaven in Sarawak. ”
A boutique accommodation, room is quaintly designed with high quality furnishing. The 2 pools are inviting, particularly the infinity pool with the gorgeous sea view. Breakfast was delicious with both local and western options. Service was attentive and first class. Highly recommended.
A perfect place to chill out ”
Our second eagerly anticipated visit to Cove 55, and it was just as perfect as last time. The hotel and grounds are just beautiful and the staff team helpful and friendly. It is truly a gem among hotels.
Quiet and simple ”
The quietness n peacefulness of the resort, the friendly staff, the sumptuous n delicious breakfast, cleanliness n beautiful setup of the rooms
Perfect location to explore Sarawak's unique wildlife and culture and stay in luxury”
This hotel is low density and has the most incredible setting with views of the mountain, mangroves, beaches and Bako national park. Spacious, luxurious rooms with balcony. Loads of space for 4 people in our room with a huge bathroom (corner suite) The kids loved playing in both swimming pools. They provided inflatables for the kids and have a large array of board and card games available for them to play. The chef made individual meals to order for the children for breakfast, lunch and dinner each day - best macaroni cheese in Malaysia! Both pools are lovely. Cove 55 is extremely clean, impeccably decorated and the staff try so hard to personalise your stay. I highly recommend Cove 55 for families or couples wanting to stay somewhere friendly and high quality from which to easily explore Santubong mountain (15 mins), the Cultural village (10 mins) , Bako national park (40 mins) and the Kuching wetland boat rides to see dolphins, proboscis monkeys, fire flies and crocs
If it wasn't for this hotel we would have only stayed in Kuching for 3 nights max. This is really the only place that provides the luxury you would want while being close to the national parks near Kuching. It is the perfect base from which to book your rainforest or river trips. It's a boutique hotel which never feels busy, staff are lovely, food is quality. We will return.
great for vacations”
Very Relaxing place for a short getaway...
The infinity pool with salt water was so great.. breakfast made by chef upon request was good.. especially the egg florentine.. there’s no tv inside the room so have to choose other things to do.. the con was for muslims because its difficult when there’s no water inside the restroom.. other than that, everything was worth it for weekend getaway..
Perfect stay in a beautiful place”
If you are looking for a special hotel to relax and enjoy Sarawak this is the place. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the decor is lovely. The beds are very comfortable. I would recommend the balcony room for the views. The pool was really clean and a good length for swimming laps. The onsite restaurant served delicious meals and the bar is well stocked. All the staff were courteous and professional. A truly international standard facility in a beautiful part of the world.
