Rather ramshackle space”
We did not stay in the main guest house but in a nearby unit that the owner rented during the busy period (also on soi 11, about 2 units closer to the river). We really have no idea what the standard of the main guest house is like, but we didn't really like our stay where we were at. The upstairs toilet has holes in the ground (!) where you can see insects. The downstairs toilet/shower is pretty ramshackle and there are mosquitoes accompanying you while you shower as well as spiders building webs on the ceilings. Also due to thin walls/floors, when your neighbours walk around or close the doors you will hear it and it will wake you from your slumber. Nice owner but that wasn't enough to salvage the experience.

True home stay”
Location, service, retro feel
If I'd brought my grandparents along, they would've found this close to home. I wouldn't really call this a guesthouse but rather a homestay, because it felt like staying in someone's home. The place is kept clean. Ooy the keeper (owner?) is chill; she keeps two friendly cats that like to hang with people. Bicycle rental is free. Soi 11 is a stone's throw away from the busy walking street and the local market south of Chiang Khan road. Very close nearby is a Tesco Lotus and a 7-11. Two negative things are: (1) due to the wooden structure there is no noise insulation whatsoever. It's far enough from the walking street though so unless you're a really light sleeper it's still fine if you're trying to turn in early. (2) there is a slight mosquito problem, although this seems like a generic problem in a place like Chiang Khan. Mosquito net is provided but I'd advise to slap on some anti-mozzie lotion for good measure. A food tip: in the middle of Soi 10 there is nondescript noodle shop selling local specialty called jum neua - try this noodle in pink broth.

Relax at Chiang Khan”
Cool, Good Service, have parking area
Hotel is tht old building with 'Cool' decoration. Room is Clean. As homestay; share bathroom, no breakfast (have only coffee/tea). Owner provide great service. In winter, blanket maybe too thin.
