Graat place for honeymoon”

We had a spa cottage. Lots of privacy and surrounded by nature. Bring your own bubble bath:) We spotted wallabies and echidnas near our cottage. Meals are generally costly in cradle mountain area. We felt that the Hellyer's restaurant at cradle mountain wilderness village served wonderful meals for lunch n dinner. We paid about $30-$40 per pax. However, it was too costly for breakfast- $25/pax for eggs done in different ways on the menu. The kitchenette was fully equipped which allowed us to cook our own breakfasts. We happened to try dinner at Peppers Lodge as well as Cradle Mountain Hotel- both served yummy fare. Expect to pay a lot more at Peppers Lodge. Location was great- 10 min walk to the Visitors' Centre where we took the shuttle bus to the starting point of various walks at cradle mountain. Wonderful stay!

Cosy and comfortable cottage”

Spacious, adequate heating for all rooms, ability to cook simple meals, cosy living room with natural lighting

My husband and I arrived at Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village on a cold, rainy and windy day. We were glad that the cottage has strong heaters in both living room and bedroom. Besides that, we were very happy with the kitchen which is equipped with necessities for us to prepare simple meals. We used the BBQ outside to cook our dinner the first night. This cottage is also very conveniently located near the information centre. Although it does not have restaurants on site, it is only a short distance drive to the nearby bistros and restaurants. We are very happy and satisfied with our stay here and will definitely come back for a longer stay next time.

Great place to stay”

Good location, clean and friendly staff

We enjoyed our stay at the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village. We stayed for 2 nights and were due to stay in a Studio Cottage however due to us visiting in the low season (late May) we were upgraded to a deluxe suite (don’t know the exact room name sorry!), which was very kind of them. The room itself was spacious and very clean. The heating in the room was good – my husband found it to be warm enough but I would have liked it to have been a bit warmer. The staff were friendly and helpful and we would recommend this hotel to others.

Hugh area and clean with modern furniture

Although the cost was slightly high, it was worth it. The room was huge and there was a large dining and living room. It was comfortable and worthwhile to just spend a day relaxing at Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village. Toilet was huge and comfortable. Can also spend time at the lounge at the reception and enjoy the music or read a book beside the fireplace . After sunset, we had surprise visit of possum which was quite entertaining.

nice accomodation. cradle mountain wilderness village gives you access to a common room with a lovely wood burning stove and honor bar & snacks for those who didn't bring much with them. very nice idea, since you're so far from everything! stop in the iga in sheffield to pick up some food if you don't want to pay the $$ restaurant prices up on the mountain.

Comfortable facilities in the wilderness”

The cabins at Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village had everything we needed and were comfortable and clean. We saw wallabies and possum outside our cabin, which was tucked into a bushland setting. The meals at the restaurant were delicious with a varied selection on offer. The staff were friendly and helpful. We wished that we were staying more than two nights as it was so relaxing. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Easy to find, Right at the entrance to the park, Private in the bush

We had a great stay at Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village. The cabin was fully self contained and I would definitely take an extra bottle of wine and more food next time. It snowed for our arrival but the next morning was magnificent with snow on the mountains and not a cloud in the sky. Great place I would recommend.

Wonderful place to stay at Cradle Mountain”

We were very happy with our chalet at Wilderness Village. We had a hot tub and after a full day of hiking -- we enjoyed having it. Having the extra space and a kitchen to cook breakfast and keep snacks was very nice. It was a great location, friendly staff and we were most satisfied. I would recommend Crade Mountain Wilderness Village. (we enjoyed our meal at the restaurant there also),.

Excellent room, close to wildlife and great restaurant

We stayed in a spa cottage which was absolutely amazing, huge bed and bathroom, with an incredible spa bath overlooking the wilderness. Handy to have a kitchen with small stove top and essential cooking utensils and pans. The restaurant food was great, we dined there for both nights. We hired rain coats and a back pack from reception for the walks we did around Cradle Mountain.

Number 1 choice! ”

Great for a group/family, modern, clean

My party of 4 stayed at the Spa Chalet for one night. Our only regret is not staying a couple more nights! We had a great time BBQ-ing with the BBQ pit on our balcony, and loved how the chalet was well stocked with the cooking equipment and utensils you might need. It was winter, but the chalet was well heated all around. The toilet was spacious and clean. Overall we would definitely choose Wilderness Village again if we were ever to visit Cradle Mountain!

Awesome Spa Room!”

Pros- Lucky to meet wallabies at our balcony on both nights of our stay. The devils conservatory, cradle mountain national park, visitor center etc are nearby via a short drive. The spa pool was rewarding after a good hike at cradle mountain especially during cold Autumn weather. Cons- The water from the tap is discoloured even though the staff says it's safe to consume it we were quite uncomfortable doing so. So we ended up buying 1.5L spring water from the convenience store at Discovery Tours (5 min drive from Wilderness Cottage) at AUD3.5 where you could get it easily at half the price at Woolsworth at major towns. So stock up before you make your way to cradle mountain!

Suitable for a vacation at Cradle Mountain. ”

The cottage is near to Cradle Mountain's visitor center. The room is clean and large and have the kitchenware for the cooking. We saw the wallabies from the balcony when we check-in and the next morning. They came for the snacks (please don't feed them although they are really cute). Only one restaurant in this hotel. Since it is far away from the city and seems no store/supermarket near the area, we suggest to store the enough food before driving to Cradle Mountain. We cooked by ourselves, the kitchenware is equipped completed. Overall, a wonderful stay at this cottage. Recommend.

Beautiful Spa Cabin nestled in a wonderland”

Beautiful secluded cottages nestled atop Cradle Mountain. I'm only sorry we couldnt stay longer.... the bed in the cottage was one of the most comfortable I've ever experienced and the two person spa, fire place, privacy and views of nature make this a perfect romantic getaway or a perfect escape to recharge from the bustle of mainland Australia. The Tasmanians are lovely people with pride in their land and wildlife! Must visit Devils Sanctuary at Cradle just a 5 minute drive away and on the way back to Hobart must visit Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. The scenic drive is 4 to 5 hours from Hobart Airport depending upon your driving time and stops along the way...it is a beautiful drive! We will definitely stay again and highly recommend staying as long as possible since there is so much beauty to take in!

Short winter stay - cosy cabin, great food!”

We stayed for two nights here with two teenage kids. The location was great and we loved being in the bush with wombats and pademelons roaming about - very cute! The cabin was comfortable and cosy but quite compact and smaller than we expected from the photos. Staff were super helpful and friendly and the tapas dinner we had in the restaurant was fantastic - a welcome relief from more burgers and chips! No wifi in the cabins, which is typical of the Cradle Mountain area and it is generally patchy in this area, just a warning for those with techy teenagers! Overall we had a great stay here.

Location, staff and the room

We book the spa room for the night. It was the best choice made. It clean and very quiet at night. It a self contained room. When I ask if the room provide bath salt as the reception was selling it at 4 AUD for one. However, the staff whome I enquire had given it to me for free. I am very thankful of that. They were very helpful towards our enquires about the hike to cradle mountain. The location is very good. It about 10 mins drive or lesser to the information Centre. I highly recommend to stay here if you are planning to hike at cradle mountain.
