This Could Be Palawan's Best-Kept Secret...”
Our stay at the Crystal Paradise Resort was without a doubt, a truly satisfying and almost magical experience. The staff here is remarkable -- either anticipating your every need or quickly tending to it with grace and charm. As you arrive, you are greeted with a warm welcome and a smile as a lei, or garland of yellow flowers is draped around your neck. Then you are escorted into the pavilion and served “Buko” -- a large, freshly-picked coconut filled with coconut water that you drink from a straw. The beach-front Executive Suites are quite elegant, with solid wood and rattan furniture on white-tiled floors. The most surprising feature was the canopy bed with the view through sliding glass doors to your very own private, infinity pool within 10 feet of your private section of beach. Beautiful, swaying palm trees frame an aqua-blue sea, as you sit on a lawn chair sipping your favorite beverage. The warmth of the sun and the sound of the pounding surf just a few feet away is guaranteed to calm even the most pent-up traveler. Pure heaven! Dinner is served in a huge gazebo-like structure with an astounding view of a tropical paradise surrounding you with the ocean just beyond. The menu is well thought-out, presenting a wide assortment of delectable choices… all quite reasonably-priced. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. If a spa treatment is on your “must-do” list, then you are sure to enjoy the services here. Only natural ingredients are used. Other activities may include kayaking, fishing, island-hopping, or even a trip to a turtle or bird sanctuary. You can ask the friendly folks at the resort to take you to Estrella River Falls (it’s not uncommon to spot a wild monkey or two). The staff will prepare a picnic lunch served to you by the river once you’re done exploring or swimming! At the end of it all, you will surely walk away knowing that you’ve been pampered and spoiled. This is perhaps Palawan’s best kept secret!

For The Family”
The resort is truly for families on vacation. They have enough pools and beach front to accommodate a lot of people. Food was good and safe. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our rooms are clean though rather sparse compared to what we are usually used to. Our aircon needed to be serviced because it was very noisy. But over-all it is a well-maintained resort. We did research on the flora of Palawan, and their location, Narra was a good jump-off point.

great rooms and relax at whole”
full value for the money on a great resort in relax atmosphere, no disco/pubs near the hotel, only a friendly bar inside, prices more than okay, a good choice at all, but far away from any city, all proposed visits not to expensive and with a great service during the trips(food and drinks)

Great location and service but rocky beach”
One thing I liked about this place is that it is away from the crowd of Puerto Princesa proper. It is quiet and perfect for a tired soul seeking rest and silence. I loved the room too. We had a nice veranda with a good view of the sea and the palm garden. The room was squeaky clean. The staff were very accommodating and attentive to our needs. They were willing to adjust to our requests, such as when we asked for fish instead of clams in our clam soup, or when we requested for french toast for our packed breakfast. I had an unpleasant experience with their dog though. it was left unattended by the manager (?) and was after me (scaring the hell out of me as i was getting ready to go to the beach at 6 AM). Despite this experience, i would still love to go back to this quiet respite. The beach is rocky (not the white fine sand kind) but that was fine with me. It's the overall ambience I like. Spa service was nice. I just hope transfer charges would be a little less costly. This isn't a place for those looking for gimmick/parties though.

utterly terrible”
I’m not sure what resort the other people who have reviewed Crystal Paradise went to, but it can’t have been the same one I had the unfortunate experience of staying at last week. Words cannot begin to describe how dreadful this resort is, to start with there’s the bone-jarring two hour minibus trip to get there which is absurdly priced, eventually when you arrive at the resort you begin to question the owners decision to build a ‘secluded’ you can replace this with in the ‘middle of nowhere’ resort sandwiched between a mosquito invested swamp and the most unattractive beach I have ever seen, mud, green sludge and rocks is the best description of it. Given how many beautiful beaches there are in the Philippines I can’t imagine why they decided to build it in such an awful location. I had booked a ‘deluxe’ room which I soon changed to a beachfront villa, the bucket in the shower prompted this move. Once in the beach villa I decided to run a bath and try to relax a little, I soon changed my mind when the water from the tap ran green/brown and smelled stagnant. It’s obviously pumped directly from the swamp behind the resort. Of course it was impossible to sit outside because of the magnificent array of local airborne flesh eating insects so I decided to go to the restaurant and have dinner. This too turned out to be a bitter disappointment, granted the Philippines isn’t renowned for its cuisine but the rubbish that came out of the kitchen after a 30 minute wait was terrible and decorated with bright purple and fluorescent green sauce – I have no idea what this was but everything tasted awful. One redeeming feature was the trip to the turtle sanctuary, which was on an island with lovely white sandy beaches, a reasonable BBQ and good snorkelling off the beach in the corals and sea grass, but at a cost, seemed a little overzealous on the price side and then I was charged extra for the drinks. Ridiculous.

One of the best hotels ever”

Great location”
Somewhat out in the sticks and not a great deal to do unless you avail yourself of the organised trips laid on by the hotel, but that involves a certain amount of travel [road time]. No night life at all either, although it was not very busy when I was there. Would I go there again? Yes!

Poor Value”
Stayed in a standard room, as a treat after backpacking down from El Nido. As seasoned travellers, we're happy to stay in cheap rooms when backpacking but also are familiar with luxury hotels. Crystal Paradise was a serious disappointment -very glad we only went for a standard room. Expect nothing more than 2* service and facilities. Its only saving grace is the hotel's beautiful grounds with numerous palm trees and tropical flowers, and hammocks strung between them - all with a view of the ocean. The beach is non-existent - a narrow strip of brown sand. The reception and dining area is open air, in serious need of renovation. Breathtaking for all the wrong reasons. The restaurant's centrepiece fishtank was filthy, with flies interrupting our breakfast in the mornings. We avoided the restaurant for lunch/dinner. The level of english amongst most staff was poor. The spa was unable to offer some of its treatments, despite spa staff admitting they'd run out of supplies a while ago- they simply hadn't bothered to restock. What was most galling was the feeling that we were being ripped off at every turn, just because we were tourists. A boat trip out to the Turtle Sanctuary on Isla Arena . We did the same trip ourselves (on a better boat than our fellow hotel guests) . Tricyles to town , we did one way trips ourselves . We understand that luxury hotels charge large amounts for services they provide, it is to be expected. But at a resort where no added value is to be had at all, we found this unacceptable. If you stay here, know that it is a rundown resort, and pay accordingly. We would not recommend this place.

Wonderful”
Our stay was absolutely amazing. Stuff was very friendly and polite. If you want to spend time privately then this is the place to be. Only 2 things are not good- Internet connection was invalid and no sunbeds on the beach, everything else super. Surely suggest to visit

Remote Honeymoon Hotel.”
This hotel is really out in the middle of nowhere. After a 1 1/2 hr ride on some rough road, you come to an enclosed secluded resort, where you'll receive a lei greeting as well as fresh coconut juice. Very serene stay. But beware, you ARE in the middle of a tropical setting. Bring insect repellant as there are plenty of bugs to bite you. PLUS gotta watch out for malaria.

Over priced”
Tatty and well worn. The place in general is very shabby and worn. The price for a pool villa is out of all context with the property. The villa is 3/10 but I must say the pool was 8/10.but with a price tag of 10,000 php, £145, $200 us, it is crazy. The breakfast was very small and for a hotel saying 2 eggs any style and then not knowing what poached eggs are says it all. The saving grace was that as with all Philippine hotels the staff were great.

interesting place”
we came from puerto princesa by car and we had booked standard rooms. at hotel we were offerd to stay in family villa for a surcharge and we decided to take it as standard room is more for young backpackers than for older travelers. we checked also deluxe room whick is a bit better but family villas are excelent, very nuce but also overpriced. the place itself and the surrounding is nice and the fishing with local fishermans is very good.

Stayed in a Beach Villa with Pool, 2 nights, very disappointed.”
Booked 2 nights in a Beach Villa with private pool. This was what we thought the best accommodation for us while in Narra, as we went there to buy a property. The photos in the Agoda website look lovely, but very deceiving, the place was built in the 80,s and the photos were accurate possibly at the time of opening. The long story short is it is extremely expensive for what you will get in reality. The property has been sadly neglected, poor to nil maintenance, dirty mouldy villa with paint pealing due to neglect. Hot water to hand basin but not to shower in ensuite, pathetic, honestly check out for yourself before booking, dont make the same mistake as us and book according to the nice photos, they are very misleading. Complimentary breakfast was a joke, only ate there for breakfast as it was included in the package. Disappointing all round i honestly cannot recommend staying at this property to anyone, just book in good accomodation in the city, Puerto Princessa and drive to Narra.

Quiet Retreat”
This place is a good place to consider when you want a quite retreat from the usual tourist areas and tours. They have villas with you own small pool overlooking the beach. It is a but far from the main road but you are there to enjoy the quiet anyway. They have a spa and very good therapists too. But do tell them to put down the curtains because of the mosquitoes while having a massage.
