The staff where lovely and accommodating, issue with my initial room was swiftly resolved, once I raised concerns (moved to another room). Lovely location, but needs more investment to update equipment and rooms. With the exception of that we had a relaxed and enjoyable time.

Check what you are buying from Agoda. We thought we were buying all inclusive for one night for me and my daughter. It turned out we were buying bed and breakfast and that we were unable to use the spa facilities until 5pm despite Agoda inviting us to state our arrival time when we booked our stay. We arrived at 1.30 as we'd said we would . We also had to pay for our lunch and evening meal separately. The deal was not what we thought we were getting.

We arrived at 9 am but they said it was to arrive at 5pm. However they waved this and allowed us to use the facilites and have the mealtimes.

Perfect relaxation ”
The facilities were amazing. Lots of fresh towels around the spa and day beds to just relax. I had a deep tissue massage and the staff were amazing. Food is healthy so don’t expect a greasy fry up for breakfast. I loved it and all freshly cooked. The rooms are spacious and clean. Only point I would make which seems to be the case for many hotels now. Twin beds pushed together. There is always a small gap which is uncomfortable. The grounds are lovely and beautiful to walk round. Overall take me back!

Mother and Daughter”
A beautiful location, very clean and extensive facilities. The pool area is well maintained with plenty of seating and is light and airy. My facial was excellent and very professional. But, it was impossible to contact the hotel to verify the booking. I phoned three times and was promised a call back, I e-mailed and received no reply. I asked for twin beds and on arrival we were given a double bed. Staff assured us someone would come to the room and separate the beds. This did not happen. The hotel was extremely busy, I would say overbooked as staff took a very long time to book us in. We booked our meals (lunch and dinner were not included in the price) There were two restaurants to choose from, one canteen-like, the other old fashioned and fusty. We ate in both. The food was poor. I ordered steak, medium rare, which was overcooked and very hard with no seasoning. My daughter's scallops were undercooked. Dining experience was similar to a Harvester. Disappointing

Great place to relax and chill out, quite hard to book a treatment if you do it when there I would advise to book in advance to ensure you can get a slot. The food is very good and quite filling! The ambiance in the dining area is perfect for breakfast and lunch but not as comfortable for an leisurely evening meal the chairs are not that comfortable.

Awful Place”
If you’re a couple and have any kind of expectations of how an expensive resort should be, this will FAIL to tick every single box. Keep your money and go to a good hotel with good pool facilities. Trust me. However if your a group of ladies out on an away weekend then I can imagine this would be somewhat more appropriate.

We'd not had the best luck with spas before so Champneys Forest Mere was a breath of fresh air. I have never been anywhere where I have been better treated by staff; they were so well-trained, polite and friendly, and the level of customer service really made this place stand out. There were so many options for fitness classes and talks, as well as relaxing rooms with fireplaces and dozens of spa treatments to choose from. The pool area was extremely well equipped, with three jacuzzis, a snow room (yes, you read that correctly), a steam room, tropical showers, heated waterbeds, hanging chairs, a sauna - my husband and I were so impressed and thought the pictures on the website did not do it justice. The food was delicious, healthy but flavoursome and the location was just beautiful: one guest remarked to me that she really felt she was on 'planet Champneys', and I agreed. We will be recommending it to all of our friends and we intend on returning.

Champneys Forest Mere has fantastic spa facilities - 25-metre pool, unisex sauna & steam room, jacuzzi, whirpool and plenty of relaxation rooms with water beds! Female and male guests have their own separate changing facilities with steam room and sauna which also give you an extra space to relax. The grounds are nice and you can simply enjoy a walk around the lake which surrounds the resort or just relax by the outdoor pool. I would definitely recommend as a day spa experience. However, if you want to stay for a night that's a little bit different story. The guests reviews about the room standards are completely accurate. Sadly, the rooms DO NOT meet the expectations of 4 star hotel especially bathrooms need updating! Despite being greeted warmly by the receptionist with a welcome drink, it took them over an hour to allocate us to the right room. They have offered us (young couple) firstly a disable room, than a garden room facing the construction side (builders doing the outdoor jacuzzi) and finally the 3rd room on 1st floor facing the outdoor pool has worked out well. Therefore, if you find a special deal for the accommodation and spa day then it may be worth consider. Otherwise, normal price is far too much for the standards. Would I go back? I like the Champneys Forest Mere spa facilities and grounds however overall experience does not win me over.

I did a B&B stay 5pm till 10am. I took 2 exercise classes when I arrived then spent the evening in the spa - reading magazines, lounging on the heated waterbed and rotating between the hot tub and saunas till 10pm! In the morning it was aqua aerobics followed by nearly an hour grazing over breakfast. Then another stint by the pool. I will be back with my daughters soon!! Amazing value for money!!

Health Spa buzz”
Our stay was last minute and the hotel were well prepared for our visit. If you stay for the night check in isnt until 5 pm and check out 10 am so there is limited time to enjoy the facilities. We were well catered for being ceoliac and all the staff knew what that meant. It is a health spa so expect nutrionally balanced meals and only being served alcohol with your meal
