I booked a one-night stay at Beaconsfield Crazy Bear based on advertisement and reviews. However, I was disappointed with the outcome. For one, the room was based in a different location, across the road from the hotel, overlooking a cemetery, which is not mentioned in the booking confirmation. Secondly, it says there is a pool and jacuzzi, however you're not able to use it because it's based outdoors, in the middle of the public bar area. Lastly, the shower had mould around the base and the door would not close. It's disappointing, as this was booked as a birthday celebration, and unfortunately, there was not much to do in the area apart from dine out. On a positive note, the yurts look spectacular in the terrace and the ambiance is nice outside. I'd say the value for money is questionable.

We were there over Christmas for two nights, and it was quite a disappointment. The room was small, with peeling paint and dust in a few places. No mini bar, no tea/coffee, no hairdryer, no slippers. No door between the room and toilet, just a curtain. The wifi didn't work, and when I tried to call reception about it the phone didn't work either. The next day we were moved to another room where they said the wifi was working. But it wasn't. So they moved us to another room where the wifi did work, but the phone still didn't. We had the evening buffet meal on Christmas day, which wasn't very christmassy - chicken curry, quiche, lukewarm roast beef, etc. Overall very disapponting for the price.

Visited this hotel for my 10th anniversary. Never again”
Visited Crazy Bear for first time for my 10th anniversary. Paid for a superior room as advised that the other rooms are across the road and not in the hotel. Called back later to make spa bookings only to be advised that my room is located across the road from the hotel. After a 15 minute hold on the phone during my anniversary lunch they finally agreed to give me a room in the main hotel. After being advised by the hotel and Agoda (I have written evidence) that the room comes with a king size bed. Was promised rose petals in the room, when entered the room had a a4 cardboard saying happy anniversary. We were given a room with a double bed. The staff advised that they could not do anything. This was a complete joke as my wife is due to give birth in a few weeks and gets claustrophobic and needs space. The room was not clean, spider webs in the room. Was very cold in the room and climate control switch not working, advised staff, no action taken. Will be writing for a refund.

Our stay was fantastic the staff are so courteous, the English restaurant was also amazing I would Definately recommend the filet steak. Our stay was definately one of best experiences even better then staying in the shangri la. So thank you to all staff x

Didn’t really see what all the hype was about. Figured sine of the reviews might just be other hotels writing bad things about a competitor. Room was fine / nice. Had dinner elsewhere given other reviews Continental breakfast was pretty basic / limited. My partner ordered al-a-carte breakfast. They messed up the eggs and rather then take then back instantly wanted to discuss. And then when the brought them a 2nd time they were wrong again. Glad we didn’t trust them with dinner!

Really dissapointing”
Arrived to a tiny reception area packed with people checking in. While waiting to be checked in the group ahead of us were asked for a holding deposit of 150 pounds per guest. This deposit to be withdrawn as cleared funds and retained in lewe of damage to the room . They, (as did myself and my boyfriend ), had no idea this was standard policy and had to endure the embarrassment of watching the lead guest in their group card bounce In front of everyone in reception. We all cringed for him as the rooms are very expensive and he'd obviously splashed out to the reach of his means. I myself have stayed in many 5* hotels across the world and have never had to do such a thing. Or if my memory fails me it was done in such a way subtle way that I don't recall. Awful start. The room was TINY...so dark that I couldn't see my feet and the toilet was by the head of the bed without a door! Eeewww! Fortunately an other guest had upgraded to a suite (just to have a bath!) The food wasgood

stayed at crazy bear for a weekend,travelling from far had to use the sat nave finding the hotel was quite easy and we were lucky to find a space to park the car, right in front of the hotel not noticing that was the crazy bear hotel , went in the building that said reception and it was the right one, did not found the receptionist quite helpful and welcoming she was strait in to the point checking in which it was what we needed to do but i think she should be more welcoming i founded checking out, more welcoming receptionist very kind and friendly founded the room very nice and cosy but a bit dark the thai restaurant really nice staff was brilliant and really nice food,also breakfast really nice beautiful place just need to improve at reception customer care first impression is very good .

We have visited and stayed at the Crazy Bear on previous special occasions and its a really fun quirky unique experience. The staff were great, and special thanks to Charlotte who made us very welcome. The whole place is an assault on your senses... with a luxurious mixture of hunting lodge meeting Africa meeting the Middle East! Difficult to describe unless you've experienced it, but a lot of fun and its certainly not dull! Prices are high but its an incredible experience. Our suite was incredibly OTT, but in a good way, with velour lined walls and ceilings and the copper bath at the end of bed is filled from the ceiling like a waterfall! The bathroom is through a set of curtains, and perhaps a little more privacy for some tasks would be welcome, and it is now starting to show signs of wear and tear with a wonky shower mixer valve, dented shower head and the gold has worn off the taps. I would suggest a few things for the hotel to consider when its next being updated: 1. Better lighting options - Darkness is sexy but not practical for getting dressed in, and tricky for the ladies applying make up, hair etc. 2. At this price point better toiletries, a room mini bar, coffee tea facilities should be provided. 3. The bathroom floor is incredibly slippery when wet, and the black toilet just looks cheap. Thanks to the Crazy Bear for another wonderful evening and it was a lot of fun. Highly Recommended.
