Real luxury at a modest price”
We were surprised to find ourselves booked into a suite with separate bath and shower rooms and with a neat TV arrangement which could be viewed from the seating or sleeping area. Very well thought out, with a comfortable bed and and a very good breakfast adding to our enjoyment.

Took my OAP Dad for a treat. Quality place, quality staff could not do enough to help and high standards...Grounds are amazing..a little distance from City too far to walk but 2 mins by car

Lovely, clean and quiet”
Hotel was exceptionally clean and quiet, lovely blackout curtains. Loved the warm cookies on arrival! It is in a very nice looking location which is a bit of a way out of Chester city centre but worth it for the seclusion and quiet grounds. Only a 10/15 minute drive into the centre. We went to the Garden restaurant for drinks, they were quite dear but restaurant was lovely. Would love to have used the spa facilities but they were only available if you'd booked a spa break unfortunately.

Mediocre room but lovely area!”
The hotel rooms are situated in the stately home's newer extension. The old brick beautiful building advertised is used for events. Room was basic but good for a weekend away. The restaurant staff in the hotel were horrible and food was overpriced for what it was - recommend eating in town.

Stopped here when we came to Chester it was lovely hotel breakfast was really good staff brill could not do enough for you, only downside the drinks are on the expensive side £8.00 for a glass of wine is a bit steep but otherwise great

Great customer service ”
Their customer service is second to none. On arrival we were given cookies when we told them that we we have a gluten allergy they swap them for gluten free ones. They catered for our diaetry needs and also were help when we checked out providing us with a room to pray and also remembering to give us a gluten free menu for lunch without being promted.

Almost all good ”
Meals at hotel restaurant require previous booking and we were not told about it...so we end with no table available and need to use room service. On the check out we complaint and they didn’t not charge us for the light meal we had on that day. Other than this all good ;)

Carfest visit”
Room on 1st night had no working air-con (32 degrees outside). Got offered fans for room or room exchange- went for room exchange. After spending day and evening at Carfest arrived back to room around 10pm. Bed made and fresh towels but toilet seat had been broken off by cleaners and left leaning against wall. Cupboard top still had glass and coffee cup marks on. Water bottles not replaced and bedside furniture pulled out like cleaning was still in progress. Entry and lobby very clean and looks the part, but room was let down. Extortionate prices for breakfast at £49 per couple per day. Bought it as a present for husband but will use travel lodge next time as good value for money

Rude Bar Staff”
I last went to this hotel four years ago before it was extended and the public gym facilities and it was much better then. It is now too busy and the bar Stewart called Luke was really rude like it was an inconvenience to get us a drink. He was very unhelpful and had no sense of humour. Shouldn’t be in the hospitality business with this attitude. The hotel was clean but lacked that personal touch. Also had to ask three times for milk for our room too. Don’t think we will be returning here again which is a shame because the city is lovely and the location was perfect.

Very disappointed”
I understand things are different with COVID times however - booked a table at Marco P Whits restaurant 2 weeks prior to visit - on arrival was told restaurant was shut they shouldn’t have taken our booking & we were actually booked into it on our ownnwhen closed. Room was shabby - huge disabled bathroom in it as well as en suite????? Carpets high risk of trips & falls for the disabled so not even impressed as a disability room. We reluctantly swapped to garden room terrace for meal (as no time to research or book into other restaurant) - not busy was waiting over 25 minutes for waitress to come & take a drinks order - food came expensive & nothing special. Only positive was breakfast was very good. Unable to use pool as closed to paying guests but people using spa could use it????? So all in all not impressed - maybe expectations were too high of a 4 star HILTON hotel !!!!

Over-priced”
Room costs very high; 'extras' such as breakfast and spa use; plus bar prices simply far too high (spa use should be included for guests). Bedrooms hot with poor ventilation and ambience of lounges, bar and restaurant very 'corporate'. Any good points? Well, lots of parking, staff cheerful but too far out of the city to walk. All-in-allvery disappointing.

Nice Hotel lovely surroundings”
Pros Nice Hotel especially lobby. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location Good food. Cons You have to pay extra to use swimming pool 25pounds per family room, 15 pounds double room. You have to book a 2 hour slot to use pool or spa facilities.

Excellent hotel and spa.The restaurant food was delicious and a good choice. We enjoyed the hearty breakfast with qaulity bacon and sausage. The hotel had a spacoius car park,the staff were cheerful and very helpful.
