Great value for an old querky hotel”
Really well presented hotel with loads of interesting things to see. It's a good age so a little tired in places but all adds to the character. Friendly and helpful staff go the extra mile and ensures everyone feels welcome. Would recommend getting a deal including breakfast or it's £10pp and books up quickly. Will definitely return when visiting Chester again

We have stayed here a couple times great location right next to station but zero train noise! Easy walk to the town. Two great pubs restaurant within 5 mins and also Siam. Excellent friendly staff attentive,unobtrusive and know what there doing and get on with it without being told!

Comfortable Stay as usual”
We stayed here a few times before COVID 19 and this time too the staff were as polite and professional as ever. The cleanliness of the rooms were as good as ever too (most of them are more spacious than a room you would get at one of the well known budget brands). There is a good selection of pillows and the bed is firm but not too firm and we slept very well as we have always done here. Location is perfect next to the railway station and no more than a 15 minute walk into the centre of Chester. Just be aware currently the restaurant and bar facilities are closed. We paid for breakfast thinking the main restaurant would be open but instead got a breakfast bag of oats, a croissant a breakfast bar and a carton of orange juice for around £12 each. I can highly recommend the buffet breakfast when open but during COVID 19 we would not pay for the "bag in a room" again. Other thing to note, parking would cost you £15 Mon-Sat to stay on the car park at the back of the hotel but was free on the street as we stayed Sunday night. Also not aware of air con in this room although it might be that we just didn't look hard enough as we did not need it the night we stayed.

Very clean hotel with friendly staff”
The location is superb being very close to the town centre, with many pubs and restaurants, the staff were really helpful and friendly, our room was very clean and comfortable,. We were told we could get in our rooms at 3pm but when we arrived they told us it’s 4pm but were more than happy to look after our luggage and even took it to the room for us. They do not have their own car park, but I recommend to park in the station car park which is just round the corner for £8.00 a day.

Beautiful and central ”
Much better experience than anticipated. Room was spacious and quiet. We didn’t use the bar and restaurant as we had a small child with us and it didn’t seem appropriate. Only small issue was the bin in the bathroom hadn’t been emptied and there was a very smelly nappy left there.

The hotel was so posh and the room was huge! Came with a king sized bed tv and a jacuzzi bath tub I’m sure the facilities are great to but due to COVID nothing was open

Disappointed this time”
Stayed before and rated it highly. It may be our room but this time mattresses had collapsed, staff misinformed us that there were no cot beds and a number of other issues. Also a real shame a delay in coal order for winter fires which I heard many guests comment on - they explained order delays but there is always a work around. We may have just been unlucky with our beds. We were given a part refund and staff said they would sort issues for future guests. So there’s hope. It’s still a lovely hotel overall and rooms beautifully decorated.
