Great staff, room and location”
What more can I say. Probably the friendliest welcome I have ever received... then the room was priced right and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. The biggest plus was that it was a 3-5 min walk from the main station in Reading. It may well be a more pleasant (cost for cost with the hotels in central London) and cheaper overnight option for Heathrow than staying in London (if you have no need for London sightseeing) and with the good transport network, just as accessible. Highly recommended.

Please extend this policy to other branches, it is a good point among the competitors, I choose this hotel because other has to use credit card payment first and my card cannot receive the PIN code. So Pay on Arrival is a strong point among other hotel competitors

I choose this hotel because they can pay at site, for if the credit card has some problem, we cannot receive the code, so at first I booked 3 days and then add on 3 days and another 2 days, hope you can use this policy in other branches. Well done.

Short stay over before an event ”
I actually wish I could have spent more time in the room at the hotel as it was a lot comfier than the one I stayed in the week before, I had an open day I had to be at work early for. The sheets were clean and the bed was big and comfy with a good TV and the shower was really nice.

It is a short walk from the Reading station. Just makesure you take the south exit from the station. Walk along the thames tower building to reach the hotel. I booked a double room, which is perfect for one person but it is two small for 2 people. Great breakfast!! Lots of choices and they were very helpful and friendly. Short walk from the hotel is The oracle shopping center. There is even a ATM machine and a bus stop in front of the hotel. Clean room but no telephone (for wake upcalls) and No fridge in the room but there is tea making facility. It is a perfect place to stay to shop in the outlet in Swingdon.

Decent room but a bit cramped Make sure you bring your own toothpaste and water as they don’t provide it and charge £2 for a tiny tube which you have to buy there and then Can’t add to the bill and pay on check out Really poor for a major chain - Please rectify this Ibis

Small and noisy ”
Was very noisy due to location near clubs as I’m not from the area I didn’t realise when I booked Toilet didn’t flush was like a porta loo with a shower beds were rock hard and pillows like cardboard won’t be staying there again

Why IBIS? NO”
POOR FACILITIES POOR MANAGEMENT Good Staff Poor awareness of hygiene during pandemic. When you could stay in much larger room with assure of hygiene in Premier Inn for less. Why choose family ran like IBIS? Friendly reception and house keeping staff especially the ladies worked on 29 Dec. I asked a female staff wearing black suit that if any letter of mine was arrived. She then looked for the letter very briefly and said NO. 30 seconds later when she’s back to her office I asked her junior colleague to help and Yes she found it, it’s a A3 size envelop! Ventilation isn’t on all the time and you have no control over it. Apparently it’s health and safety hazard during COVID. I asked on the second morning about the ventilation fan and they said they would let the maintenance know. Third day, same answer, plus confirming that maintenance team would work on Christmas Day. Fourth day, they told me maintenance team would not work on Boxing Day. I was told that this is a climate control ventilation. Basically you would have no idea when will it turn on and the staff wouldn’t know the mechanism too. Please have your own experiment on what temperature could allow you to use the toilet and shower. HAVE FUN!

Laundry service is too expensive. 4.5 pounds per each underwear? It is not make sense. But the location is very close to the Reading Station which helps a lot for travelling. The room is also conformable.
