My review is based on what we paid, too much! It’s tired at best, shabby but not chic! It’s a little confusing as a beautiful country house that you don’t stay in, should have read the small print! You are sent out the back to the outside rooms. It’s probably a great place for families with children having direct access to enjoy the space outside. The spa was not clean, the steam room smelt like a zoo enclosure, more of a kids party place than a Spa. The staff were lovely and it’s ok for a family break. Not quite the Spa resort experience we had hoped for, wish we had read the reviews before booking.

Hotel was clean with some luxury extras ,staff in all departments went beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Great location to visit car museum and local attractions. great value amazing stay. Highly recommend

This was a disaster”
Having asked for a disabled room we arrived on a frosty afternoon to find out room was not in the main building but in an annex, some distance from reception, restaurant and car park. The room had a large step up to go in so my wife had to leave her mobility scooter outside. The room was freezing as the heating had not been turned on and my wife could not use the shower as she could not get in the bath. We spoke to the duty manager who arranged a heater but it was some hours before the room warned up. At no time was an alternative offered and we just had to grin and bear it. We have stayed at other Macdonalds hotel and every aspect of our two night stay fell far below the standard expected! If your fit and able and go in the summer this could be a nice hotel but any other visit is at risk. We will not be returning.

Without doubt one of our favourite hotels. Lovely large room with very comfortable king size bed. Really enjoyed the pool / spa area and staff were always polite and friendly. It is a bit of a walk into town, but we drove in anyway. Lymington itself is beautiful and Saturday market along the High Street is well worth a visit. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will be back.

Friendly Peaceful Retreat”
Lovely little hotel which definitely felt like a retreat or we were staying in a ski resort! room were big, clean and we loved having the fridge for cheese and wine. Balcony was an unexpected surprise. Helpful staff, great facilities, pool very clean. Cleaning staff very happy and friendly.

What a gorgeous hotel in a gorgeous location. We had a very relaxing stay, made use of some of the facilities, the spa and the outside pool. The weather was so hot when we went! Enjoyed sitting outside eating lunch. Comfortable bed and room was very nice much better than what I expected for a standard room.

Lockers damaged so not able to leave anything in changing room. Floor not cleaned regularly. Not much choice in breakfast for vegetarians. Tinned fruits, except water melon.

Staff very helpful and polite. What a pity though that no fires were lit in the evening and not a single flower in the hotel which did not make it very welcoming. A lack of a warm welcome feeling as a result.

Very disappointing, we were disappointed with breakfast, bacon overcooked, cheap sausage, two chipped glasses at breakfast, scrambled eggs dry. Room bathroom tiling bit grubby, although bed was comfortable. We were allocated a disabled room which we did not request. On the positive great location, beautiful gardens. More attention to detail would go long way to improve experience.Overall we felt not good value for money.

The hotel has a variety of rooms so the more you pay the better you get. Based on our first hour in our room, ground floor rooms can be noisy if the room above is occupied so watch out - we "complained" and without question were moved to an upstairs room. The grounds are spectacular, you have to get out for a walk.

Lovely hotel and rooms”
A very enjoyable stay. Unfortunately most of the facilities were closed due to the current situation, which does somewhat reduce the value proposition. Also, the food had a bit less availability. This did not really cause any issues for my stay but it would have been great to use the outdoor pool. It's a pleasant walk to Lymington anyhow, and the grounds are very beautiful, you can linger looking at the river, as we did.

Amazing hotel set in beautiful grounds amazing value for money and rooms are like mini apartments. Rooms very clean and staff really friendly ! The spa is really lovely however pool was quite cold so we did not spend time in the pool very much ! Otherwise all round very nice and we really enjoyed our stay and would return again

Can't complain for the rate we got, the grounds, facilities, staff and all were amazing - breakfast was great too. The room was comfortable but had a weird kitchenette in it and felt a bit dated. It was also round the back of the main hotel building so felt a bit isolated.
