piece of paradise ”
The sunset is just amazing there , every night with some good cocktails or beers.. the food is awesome and big portion ! Try the Robinson Breakfast if you can !! The bungalow we booked was almost new , confortable and really nice view . only not bad but not good is the salted water shower and no fan... but all the rest was perfect , i will definitely come back !!!
Can't get any better!”
We stayed here 3 nights. The pros: + The location is absolutely amazing. They are the only place on sunset beach where you can sit right on the water to eat and drink or just relax. Everywhere else is set back farther away from water. + The setup of Robinson’s is clever. I loved walking around the grounds and hanging out in hammocks and lounge pillows. Felt zenful and natural. + The food is amazing... we loved everything we ate there. The cocktails too! + The Cambodian staff and German manager are all so nice and helpful. + Robinson’s now has daily yoga with an amazing French instructor... such great classes! + Nice long happy hour! 4-7pm daily + GREAT snorkeling right next to Robinson’s... just look out for lots of glass on the shallow ocean floor. The cons: - The “New Standard” bungalow is absolutely brutal to sleep in. There are no windows and no fans so you basically feel suffocated and sweaty all night. I would recommend the more ventilated tents by the water. Overall I would recommend Robinson’s, I think they’ve done a great job of creating an awesome place to stay on a more remote part of the island. Some people said it would be boring to sit around and I couldn’t disagree more. Having no WiFi and just watching the days go by is one of the best things about traveling :)
No words....just try it!
Nice place but abit tired of the way there ”
Nice place delicious food nice sunset view nice people but I was abit tired of the way there because it too difficult .
It is getting harder and harder to find the quiet paradise in the tropics but Robinsons bungalow is that place. My beautifu kozyl Kiki Lu bungalow was solar powered and rustic but well-built and perfectly located directly on the beach complete with two hammocks a table and chairs and my own private bathroom. If you're looking to party it's probably not the place for you but if you want to eat some fantastic food and enjoy a Tropical Paradise unplugged Robinson's is for you.
I absolutely looooved this place! Exactly what I was looking for from an Island getaway! We had been staying in M'Pai and it was nice but a bit too touristy for us. Robinsons was the perfect remedy! We really enjoyed the walk through the jungle (but only brought small bags, so it might be tougher with big packs). Worth bearing in mind that depending which pier you get off at you could have a 30ish minute walk before/after the jungle walk too (again we both really enjoyed it). They had running showers which we didn't expect, toilets were clean and the location is just amaaazing with Sunset bay almost to yourself. The food is also very good. The pancakes for breakfast gave us all the energy we needed for the hike back! Thanks to all the lovely staff at Robinsons :)
The toilet with a lot of kind of insects and not enough water for using”
The toilet, bathroom are so terrible,a lot of insects and not enough water for using. The room doesn't have fan ,so hot 😒😒😒 The food and staffs are good.
The location is beautiful and secluded, but as the sea is often rough on this side of the island it's not always possible to swim in the sea. Whilst it was helpful to receive communications about how to get to the accommodation and store luggage the information given was not always clear enough to be helpful.
A good place if u choose to be a Robinson :P”
If you are looking for a place that can keep the modern life away. No crowds, no noise, no hi-tech, no social networks, no wifi. You should know your bungalows are truly basic, and ALL facilities you have in your bungalow are 3-small-bulbs. (Yes, it's a lil dark, I wished it had more ways to get nature light). But if u already prepared n chose to be a Robinson, this place just fit! All the beach is yours! Crystal waters, yellow sands, waves biggers than in Sacaren Bay. Birds singing in daylight n frogs croaking at night lol. Staffs very nice n willing to help. Beach front, just lie down reading some books, sleep or just doing nothing! Nothing else would bother you in this wild world.
Not all facilities available”
I'm sure they'll all be available soon, but when we stayed, the kitchen was limited (hours and menu) and the covered sitting area was closed. If it wasn't raining, it would have been fine to sit in the multiple non-covered areas, but since it was raining, there was minimal space to sit that wasn't in the rain (we stayed in a tent, not a bungalow, so no private outdoor sitting space). The staff were outstanding and accommodating!
We happened to visit all the major beaches and found this to be the one most to our liking as there were no noisy tourists or loud music. Quiet and relaxing. Good and affordable food. Bigger (more fun?) waves than the lagoon. If arriving at main dock it is a 30 min hike through mixed and sometimes quite steep terrain. Good choice if you don't need air-con and are exited about nature and cute tokay gekkos.
Not worth the money”
From our point of view this resort is overrated and not worth the money. We are used to rustical bungalows but 60 Dollar for a very rustical and dark bungalow (Kikki lu) is much to high! We had strong rainfalls during our stay and as the roof was leaking our bed was wet. The staff wasn't really interested as we told them. We also had Gecko shit on our clothes and a snake in our bathroom so bear in mind that you are really in the wilderness. We would not recommend the resort and location for families, maybe for people who really searching for an adventure, but in our opinion not for this price.
The beach is clean and uncrowded. The food is good. The ambiance is perfect. The snorkeling is out of this world. The bioluminescent plankton tour was incredible! We loved everything about our stay. But, be on the lookout for snakes.
Lovely bungalow right on the beach, lovely staff and service. Note that Robinson’s own slow boat does not drop you back at the pier the fast boats leave from - we weren’t told this beforehand, so were surprised by a slight mission to get back to our hotel!
worth the hike in. loved it!”
Clean beautiful beach and great staff. Even though the bungalows were completely booked it was still very quiet. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and they were the best we used on both islands. There's also a new bar where you can watch the sunset. Overall, I wish I skipped Koh Rong and just booked our entire stay here. If you want seclusion, relaxation, and can handle a 40 minute hike in with packs on, this is the place for you. We loved it.
Nice location poor staff”
The walk through the jungle to this place shouldn't be underestimated, it's not just a stroll through the jungle it's more of a trek which includes some rock climbing. I wouldn't advise unless you're in fairly good physical shape and carrying a suitcase is a big no no, backpacks only and bring plenty of water! The bungalows/ tents are situated just off the beach and are nice however very basic although you should expect that when heading to Koh Rong Salome. They also have a restaurant which serves fairly good food at the standard inflated island rate although each restaurant is the same. Overall we had a relatively good stay given the resources of the island, the only two complaints I had was there could have been more toilets/they were a bit of a walk from some rooms especially at night and staff were not particularly friendly and they seemed reluctant to speak or serve customers.
Away from it all!”
Robinson is not luxury bungalows, but it is a great place to stay if you are looking for a relaxed, low key beach experience. We loved it.
We loved Sunset Beach, it was by far one of the best maintained beaches in Cambodia. Our bungalow was nice but very basic. We had to ask twice to get a new battery so we could have light in the bungalow. We also stayed for more than 3 nights and were disappointed that nobody came to clear out our rubbish bins. We thought the food and ambiance of Robinson was much more laid back than other places along sunset beach, and we enjoyed sitting in the common room playing games, reading, and cuddling with the very cute cats. There is no wifi. We highly recommend this to people looking for a rustic getaway in a really beautiful part of the island. (Just be prepared to share a bungalow with lots of creatures- all harmless of course!)
