An excellent hotel having all the facilities and a friendly staff to make our stay pleasant and comfortable.. The hotel is very clean and well kept with a great pool and a large garden in the back. The lounge on the 34th floor has a breathtaking view of the Pearl River and the city’s skyline.

so much trouble with this Shangri-La hotel ”
First of all, we went with one 4 months baby, one kid, 3 adults. 2 days before the departure, we sent a message to book the shuttle bus. However, when we arrived, we couldn't find the pickup point of shuttle bus. We used the Map which provided by hotel to inquiry many local people to guide us the location, but the Map is so fuzzy. I tried to call the reception, but the line is busy all the time. I've dropped my phone number when we make the reservation. At last, we could talk to reception and they asked us to go to the place where the driver is waiting for. However, there was a big rain (typhoon). At that kind of serious weather, I think with a 5 star hotel will come to pick us up instead of asking us to go some place without any rain shelter along the way. It took 15 mins walking to there because we were not familiar with the place. Of course, all of us were wet as a drowned rat. When we arrived at the hotel, they explained a staff did not go to pickup place because of the bad weath

The price of the room and food is quite high, even the services are quite high, if you have an early check in or check out the hotel tends to charge rack rate for half a day, rather than what you booked online with. The location is perfect for the Exhibition as it is a stone throw away with to and fro shuttle service and back entrance towards hall way 9.1 onwards. Room service does not have pizza, so it might leave you confused a bit on what to get. Best is to get breakfast at the hotel rather than pay for it online, more expensive as part of the room. During the fairs all food, rates are doubled, evening meal is the most expensive one. Other than this excellent hotel for my purpose, will stay again for exhibition purpose only, as commuting in China during rush hour can be a pain. If given a choice Shangri La is better than Westin or Langham around the same area.

stayed there during chinese new year it seems that the hotel is not prepared for handling high occupancy period took us more than an hour more than the checkin time to wait for the room to be prepared. the hotel is like in the middle of no where so all u could do is sitting/standing in the already crowded lobby to wait for it. we have ordered 2 rooms with twin beds side by side but turned out the only rooms available would be 2 consecutive rooms with one king sized bed or we have to go for separate rooms with twin beds. we asked for extra blankets and they told us they are running out of blankets. the overall service was actually a bit disappointing from a ShangriLa hotel.

Excellent Staycation ”
Our visit was during the October holiday in China. We spent a night to get away and to enjoy some good food. We had room service, which was prompt and did not disappoint. The breakfast buffet is excellent and will become a restaurant we go to on the weekends when cereal and toast won't cut it. The outdoor pool is fantastic and open until 10pm, although you must swim with a swim cap which was the first time I've ever had to wear one. Overall, the service is fantastic and its earned 5 Stars are definitely deserved. Will 100% return!!!

If you plan to stay here, make sure to plan your itinerary carefully as it is very far from a lot of places. Feels like it is in the middle of nowhere. Although location is very far from CBD, the hotel itself is very grand. A lot of things to do in the hotel already. Swimming pools are very good. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Staff very friendly. Not all can speak fluent english though but they make sure they help you out the best way they can. Make sure to use their complimentary transportation to and fro the hotel. It will save you hassle of catching taxi.

Service was very slow. Took 30min to receive my luggauge to the room. ”
Restaurant credit was not able to use properly. It was not captured it in the final invoice but staff kept saying it was used. Hard to understand how it works
