Pokud si chcete užít Manchester se vším všudy, včetně nočního ruchu a veselí a přespat za dobrou cenu v čisté posteli, zvolte Merchants hotel. Klidu a útulnosti tu moc nenajdete, ale personál je vstřícný, důsledný a přátelský, prostředí čisté. Na jednu noc úplně postačující. A hlavně - vyjdete ven a jste přímo ve středu města se všemi buskery, tramvajemi a pulzujícím tepem velkoměsta. To je na Merchants fajn. Co není fajn, jsou netěsnící okna, neustávající hluk jak z ulice, tak z okolních pokojů. Ale celkem nízká cena za noc tomu ostatně odpovídá. Za mě - ok.

Great location. Nice staff. Clean room and impeccable toilets. Some mild noise at night as it is located in a busy area but being one of the cheapest in Manchester, one cannot complain. Would stay there again.

The Merchants Hotel is basic but for the price and position it is good value. The rooms and beds are clean- some have more facilities than others. The reception staff are great. They can’t do enough for you I have stayed several times and always found them really friendly and helpful. There are steep stairs up to reception and the next floor rooms and as there is not a lift it would be difficult if you have mobility problems. I have slight problems and manage it slowly! I will stay there again.

This is a basic hotel but vey clean and central. The staff are great and very accommodating I have stayed several times and they have always been polite and friendly. Don’t expect any frills but if you want somewhere central for a night or two it’s fine.

Great budget stay”
You get what you pay for. Fantastic location right in trhe city centre. I was staying to attend an exam the next day and it was quiet so no problem getting to sleep. Bed was comfortable and warm. The rooms are basic, no towels or toiletries or wardrobe,ust a sink and a shared toilet, which I had no problems getting access to at any time. I also paid for 5he shower upgrade. I didn't actually use it so cant comment on it. The price I paid was significantly lower than anywhere else even near Manchester. Basic yes, but value for money was there. Ideal for a bed for the night.

Cheap and Cheerful”
You get pretty much what you would expect to pay for £30 a night! Rooms were dated but clean, shared bathroom was clean, friendly staff, no complaints, would stay again.

Positives: clean, traditional room great staff amazing location unbeatable value doors bang (I'm a light sleeper) bin men empty bins at 6am (again, light sleeper) shared bathrooms (personally, not an issue, but something to consider) Would stay again, as a 'crash pad' when in Manchester, and there are no trains home

Comfortable bed and very clean.”
Location is excellent as is value for money. My single room was missing a kettle and I couldn't change the channel on the TV but I was out exploring Manchester all day so didn't care. The reception staff very polite and professional.

Clean, cosy and central”
Reading the previous review we were a bit scared, the hotel was clean and the room was cozy. The bathroom and toilet were really clean. The hotel is central, 10 min walk to go to the main thing to see in manchester. Really quiet during night.

Cheapest option for solo traveller that want private room at Manchester”
This hotel located at the center of Manchester. Walking distance to Piccadily Garden and Market Street. The facilities is very basic but good enough for short stay in Manchester

Great location ”
As you'd expect from a budget hotel, this hotel is basic but it's clean and in a great location. The mattress and pillows are hard, and it's single glazing but the outside wasn't actually noisy late at night (I was initially concerned the outside noise would stop me sleeping but it quietened down). I would suggest that they lower the TVs as they're too high to sit on the bed and comfortably watch (they're at shoulder height whilst standing), and you do have to bring your own towel or they rent towels for £1. The biggest set back was no wifi in the rooms and free wifi is limited to 20 minutes in their coffee lounge, but not problematic if you're there for a short time and can live without wifi in your room. There's plenty of bars nearby that offer free wifi.

Not that clean, but location close to train station and uni room was decent size. Tv in awkward place but working. Perfect for anyone looking for somewhere cheap can’t complain at all

For location and price, great value for money”
We stayed for one night on Halloween. Facilities were very basic; a bed and a sink in a room. I'm not sure if we should have been able to but could not access WiFi in our room. But, the room was clean, the shared toilet was clean, the shared shower was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Considering we were right in the centre of Manchester, the value for money was excellent.

The area is extremely central and the staff are great. I could list some minor complains (showers were further than expected, creaky boards, specific area was sketchy, and whatever) but it was honestly such a good price that I feel that it is unfair to give minor criticism.

Good central location & good value”
If yoi're looking for a basic (no tea/coffee making facilities, towel £1 extra charge) budget hotel with a city centre location (2 minutes' walk from Piccadilly Gardens, 10 minutes' walk from Piccadilly Station), I would recommend this one. This was the second time I stayed at this hotel when visiting Manchester. I will definitely stay here again when I next visit Manchester if the price is the same or similar.

Cheap and Cheerful ”
Location: The Merchant is in an ideal location at the heart of Manchester, with access to public transport within close walking distance. Customer Service: The staff was very helpful and accommodating, but be aware there is a cheeky fee for checking in after 10pm The room could benefit with some minor repairs and a facelift, and if on the top floor, the pressure of the water in the shower is zero..... as it only trickles. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was generally clean. Overall, I'd stay at the Merchant again, given the cheap rate.
