Small, yet lovely hotel”
We booked a triple bed room as we were traveling with our 15 year old daughter. The hotel is small and so is the room. But for the triple room, it's okay for us as we only spent time in the room for sleeping and the rest of the time we were wandering around Old Sultan Ahmed area. The breakfast spread is not bad, but the same food spread is being served for the three days we were there. Still, we don't mind as we love the spread. As usual, it is difficult to find one who speaks English around Istanbul, but the concierge speaks English quite well and we also refer to him for queries. Overall, not bad. No complaints from us.
Very comfortable and friendly”
The hotel was in a very good, central location within walking distance of the main attractions in the city centre. The staff was the best asset of the hotel, very friendly accommodating, with a genuine eagerness to help with anything you might ask for. The hotel itself was nice and the rooms comfortable. All in all great value for money, I would be very happy to stay there again in the future.
nice place but everything is slightly small”
Generally the hotel is nice all around however the rooms are a little small, the photos are a little misleading insofar as the bed, the tables, lamps and just about everything else is about 75% of the size they look in the photos.. it's a little strange
Well renovated but tiny rooms, location OK”
The stay was alright, the staff tried to be friendly but wasn't very proactive. Breakfast was good, especially the turkish pastries. The location isn't as central as advertised and right next to a big mosque - which is good and bad (noise). The biggest problem is that the rooms are tiny, you have no space to open your suitcase! And the lifts - even though quite new - already broke down. The spa is small and overpriced.
Very quiet ,clean and a very nice setting”
Very nice setting, personnel was very helpful and friendly. The place is very quiet and very clean. The room a little to small but is the norm in Old Istanbul. 10 minutes walk to shops and restaurants. Excellent place for the money.
Staff were very kind”
This hotel is very clean and reasonable. And all staff had good smile and were very kind for us. We could walk to Grand Bazaar , but the location of this hotel is bad for sightseeing. It's far from Ayasofya. We must have gone there by train.
Rooms are very small and lot of noise from other rooms. Rooms were very warm.”
Pros: centrally located. Staff is very good. Cons,: Rooms are very small. Bathroom are even smaller. Inside rooms were too hot with no ventilation, lot of noise. Wish they had electric iron in the room. Also, they provide tea/ coffee only first day in the room.
near to market
vlaue of money”
Best Hotel but not convient area”
The location of the hotel is not convient at all. its deep in a street along.but the hotel is clean & Tidy. only the hotel looks old. however its really a nice moment ive stayed therer
there was no iron in the hotel to iron the clothes
This stay can be called any thing but not a hotel . It is the baddest stay ever I see . the photo in booking page may taken before 20 years because the real is very ugly and not clean also the staff are very bad specially the lady in reception . she keep my passport with her and did not give it back after she take the information's and when I ask why . she told I give it to you after finishing pay . when I asked her if she have no trust customers she told yes I am not . it is a very overbold attitude and there is nothings in the room at all like water or tee and coffee and coffee maker as written in agoda site when booking and the room is very small which make you uncomfortable . and when I ask to speak to manger they told me he is out . I try to complete one day but I did not . so I chick out in same day even I pay for that day.
In the city of sun, colours and vitality”
The stay was quiet, sunk in the green and golden time. The city sounds and fragrance entered the room and the lobby humbly; and the stability of the soul became eternal. I could feel the heterogeneous vivacity of Istanbul in the walls and furniture of the hotel interior.
A bit far from the nearest station”
Though this hotel is located in old city sultanahmet, it takes about 10mins from the nearest station Aksaray. It may be hard to carry the suitcase by foot since the road from the hotel to the station is uneven. And the restaurant for breakfast is dark and not very good.
Quiet Istanbul citybreak”
The staff didn't speak English almost at all. Parking is a bit suspicious , in the back of the hotel, at an obscure parking lot, which cost 20 lira a day, and funny enough the day does not last 24 hours, but whichever hour you check in, they only hold it until 7 o'clock the next day. Also at the parking lot no one speaks English. The breakfast is quite nice, the rooms are spacious, clean , powerful air conditioning, big shower room, sonic proved room, which is very important. A 30 minute walk to the grand Bazaar and major attractions.
nic ei always use tilia hotel”
this time my stay was not good , since i use hotel most of my trip to istanbul.first i ask in my reservation for doubl ebed , they give me two single bed. the house keeping don t stop to knok room door from 9 oclock , to ask if we need clean room ,even if you put on the (don t disturb).stupid things.i was so tired , becaus ei arrive late at the hotel , so this house keeper dont give me sleep. as well hotel is very small so you can hear voice from out to inside room.
Short Overnight Stay”
The hotel is a bit hidden away, but nothing that Google Maps can't sort for you! A quick 5 minute walk from the Universite tram stop on the blue line. Very quick check-in and check-out, but the major downside of the hotel is that you have to pay to use the recreation facilities. I understand paying for a massage, but to use the sauna and hammam? A good 50 minutes to the airport, and that is using the fastest way - public transport. In heavy traffic, it can be nothing short of painful. However, the hotel itself is a nice place, quiet and clean. Ideal for a couple of days, and not in the middle of the madness that is the area around the Blue Mosque etc etc.
Warning: Tilia hotel is 3 stars only class B not A”
I'm sure this hotel is 3 stars only class B not A, room very small and not comfortable, reception very old design and small, very poor breakfast, you can not sleep very well, You can hear your neighbor in the second room when he cry or talk with his wife in the room and very clearly you understand what I mean. From the end this hotel is nightmare.
Small hotel room ”
The hotel isnt exactly at Sultanahmet area. At first we took the train and stopped at Sultanahmet station, but we later found out that the hotel is near to Aksaray station which is 4 stations away. The hotel is clean and generally okay. Nothing spectacular!! The hotel staffs are not friendly nor rude. We were just ignored most of the time. Just a friendly reminder, pay attention to the MAXIMUM NO. OF PEOPLE allowed in the room when booking the room. Most of them says only 1 PERSON is allowed and they are very strict with this. Breakfast was okay. Pretty much the same everyday. About 20 mins walk to Grand Bazaar and 30 mins walks to Blue Mosque. Otherwise can take the train from Aksaray station to Beyazit(Grand Bazaar) station which takes lesser time. There is a small grocery shop opposite the hotel which is pretty convenient for water and snacks. Just have to be careful when buying things bcoz the prices are different in every shop!! Btw, we saw a sign in the hotel saying no outside food allowed!! Guess u just have to sneak in food then.
low quality, tiny rooms”
very bad experience. It was advertized as 4 star hotel. I wouldnot give it 2 stars. Rooms ate so small. If you want to cross from one side to the other, you would have to walk over the bed. I booked triple rooms but there were not any. For the price tgey ask, you xan certainly get better deal. I had to cut my stay with them from 4 nites to one only.
