Lovely clean hotel, no problem with kids. Slept well and didn't have any issues. Rooms were clean

Functional stopover place, cheap”
We had to pop down for a family birthday party, so needed only a place to kip for 2 nights. For this, the facilities are fine. But you will need to drive several miles to get to anything other than the service area facilities (which are nothing more than you get at most service areas), as you need to drive at least 2 miles East to the next junction and then drive into Reading (or at least the places south of the centre), and then drive back up the A4 to the previous junction to drive 2 miles back to the services. We stayed at a quiet time (beg. Jan). Apparently this one is slightly cheaper than the Westbound one, and so we chose this one as either would've suited for us.

Poor security ”
It may be a temporary situation but there is no security between the services and the Travelodge. The door needs to be operated by key fob like at reception but isn’t - meaning anyone could just walk in at anytime. The guy in the desk knows about it and wasn’t happy either, but out of his hands apparently. Otherwise all fine: friendly staff, quiet location, with extensive semi rural grounds.

Clean place, recommended”
Stayed 2 nights. Room very clean. It was very quiet which was surprising as it is located by the M4 motorway. I'll definitely book again.

comfy beds, i asked for more milk the following day and didn’t get it other than that its a room thats comfy. I do prefer westbound I guess because they did accommodate my request

It was okay just for somewhere to sleep ”
The beds were company and it was nice and quiet. Staff were friendly. There were hairs in the bath and the hand soap was empty, there was also only one mug despite the room being booked for two. There isn’t anything to do there apart from go for something to eat in the services. One positive is you get free parking if you stay there.

Room didn’t feel homely at all. The carpet was frayed and dirty abd the shower kept gong hot & cold ie no constant temperature. I wasn’t impressed either that the VAT element of the invoice wasn’t shown as a seoerste line.

Very disappointed, hard to cold the hot water hot for a shower, and heating in room would not go above 20 in room asked staff to help, very unhelpful

Wasn't very clean and wasn't very nice looking.. Cost £30 for 2 adults and 2 kids for 1 night... That is the only good thing about it. Get what you pay for I guess

IDEAL JUST BEFORE LONDON”
Ideal if you travelling to London we stay on Friday night 40 minutes into London on the Saturday after a lovely sleep in comfortable bed and value for money x
