I splurged on a all Female room with a queen bed capsule and boy let me tell you, it was fantastic. Immediately when you walk into the capsule room you noticed how excellent the aircon is working (u need aircon in singapore or you will melt) and how clean the clean the environment is. And the staff during the duration of my 5 day stay, was just superb, they all went out of their ways to make sure you were comfortable, that all your questions were answered, and even gave excellent food recommendations! I had previously stayed 5 days in another capsule hotel two streets down but hands down this CUBE BOUTIQUE was the better choice, I wish I had stayed here the entire 10 days ! The bathroom situation was definately a lot better here than at my previous capsule hotel....these showers, despite what the reviews are saying are actually cleaner than most places I have stayed during my travels...I mean come on you are not staying in a 5 star hotel so do not expect those kind of standards but IMO this being a capsule hostel that accommodates many guests, 50?/30?, all the shared bathrooms are pretty darn clean, the staff really does it's best to have clean facilities! you can not expect 100% clean when 50 people shower right after another because these guests are not going to be cleaning after themselves ...but regardless of this fact, the facilities are the best I have seen and used. and yes there are 3 showers on the same exact floor that the bar/breakfast area is and you do have to walk by the bar area/reception area but who cares!!! I'd say, location wise, cleanly wise, staff wise this was an excellent choice for me. Bonus was that I got lucky to have an awesome group of women travellers staying in my room who were outgoing/friendly and made my stay that more enjoyable!
I've been in the Cube Boutique Capsule Hotel Chinatown for 3 nights and I couldn't be happier. I was coming from Malaysia with bus and a trip that should be just 5h became 12h. From the begining the Hotel was so nice with me and my couple, who arrived 4h earlier than me, and even we still didn't check in (the booking was on my name) they allowed her to go to the cpasule to wait for me due was quite late (I arrived at 12:45am). When I arrived the check in process was quick and easy, they gave the card and the password just after I can see my couple. The capsule was new, modern, clean and very comfortable. We slept like babies. The common areas the same, toilets and shower just great and very nice (the last day I even ask my couple "extra time" to enjoy the shower). The breakfast was ok, actually I think it was short on variety this is the only BUT to the Hotel. The staff awesome: helpfull 24h, attentice and really smilley. The check out smooth Definetly we'll comeback!
Cube Boutique is more than a backpackers accommodation. I was amazed when I checked in as everything are exactly the pictures on their pages and hotel/booking applications. Ms. Terry assisted me when I’d to checked-in early, I felt secured and safe because of her working attitude to their guests. Surprisingly, Ms. Kay is very kind as they upgraded my Premium Single Bed (Mixed) to Premium Queen Room (Mixed) which is FREE. Their room are awesome and Very comfortable, please note that cube has ventilation only but the room itself is fully air-conditioning. I rated 10.0 CUBE Chinatown as they have great Facilities, MRT is accessible, foods are everywhere, free laundry, and you can buy very cheap souvenirs within the vicinity. Another Free is their Great Breakfast (I think this is automatic included when you booked a room). You have plenty of choices - bread, fruits, pasta, coffee, milk, cereals, etc to start your day. Restrooms are clean with hot and cold shower and even their hand wash area. They have a Bar, lounge, ticketing for attractions, access guide and even free tours schedules. All employees are polite and helpful. Be kind as you will never know what more they can do to you. My stay here was astounding that I will never forget, they made my Singapore vacation easy and safe. I definitely go back here. Hope my review will help you to choose CUBE.
I wanted to experience a capsule, and I did a lot of research before I decided this place. They give my friend and I a top capsule because I didn't specify which location I wanted. It was fun climbing the metal ladder to our fairly spacious, clean capsule for two. Imagine a nice, fancy hotel room that is taken apart and placed in different parts of a hotel within close proximity with areas (bathroom, dining, and lounge) you share with other guests - cube boutique. The space to move around is limited to walking around, sitting and sleeping based on the compact place. There are places to lock your belongings. And you have to be considerate of your neighbors (staying quiet) in the sleeping and lounge area since there are no doors. They provided complimentary Singaporean breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful. The location is where the Chinatown street food is located, and close by to other sightseeing locations. I, personally, would come back again and stay here. I enjoyed my short stay.
Very satisfied with our short stay ”
I love Cube Boutique Hotel, Chinatown!!! We're very satisfied and happy that we stayed here for our last day in Singapore. It exceeded our expectations. Though it was a bit pricey compared to other capsule hotels but I think it's worth a penny. The location was superb, staff was helpful, facilities was nice (especially the mattress-it was very comfy-, although it's a shared bathroom it was very good because it's separated individually which is a plus and it is well maintained unlike other hotels. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to my family and friends. I would definitely stay here if ever I'll visit Singapore again 🙂 See you again soon! Keep up the good work and more power!
Great modern cube concept!”
Booked for one night, ended up staying for 3! Stayed in a queen capsule which was very comfortable and private and felt safe with key-card accesses doors. Was worried might be noisy from other reviews but apart from people arriving in the night it was very quiet in the cubes and we slept well. Large locker under the bed which fitted in both our large cases. Free washing machine and dryer is a big bonus. Clean facilities and cube and towels. Shower rooms could be cleaned more often - lots of hair in plugs and bath mats were always dirty from shoes, also nowhere to dry hands after using toilet (could install hand dryers?). Breakfast fine, coffee not bad, bar prices good for Singapore, check out not until 12 so no rush. Good location in Chinatown above Hawker Chans (didn’t enjoy eating here) and close to atm, metro and walkable to lots of places. Overall, really happy especially for the price in this expensive city.
Free and Easy”
1st, there are Cube Boutique Capsule Hotel & Cube Family Boutique Capsule Hotel, both are different buildings. My 1st tried for capsule room, great environment and good experience. For me, the sound insulation was not bad. But I saw a traveler slept at outside room the next day Morning. Maybe he/she cant stand the snore. They provide towel, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste & water bottle. No need to bring your own but slipper. However, please request bottom capsule room if your hands are weak. For lady, a bit hard. By the way, I hope traveler has self-discipline, plz follow the guide to keep environment cleaning, especially toilet. Overall, I like it. Highly recommended.
My lost and found Wedding Ring - amazing experience”
Value for Money - exactly Location - Chinatown is a walking distance from the MRT Station and you'll never get lost and with the MRT you can easily reach the Harbour Front which is 1 bus ride away from Resorts World and Universal Studios Cleanliness - very clean comfort rooms and beddings etc Staff - very polite, professional and helpful Facilities - Complete, maybe its best if they could add an area for exercises My wife and I really love my experience - simply great stay with Cube Boutique Capsule Hotel at Chinatown
Stayed here for 5 nights while traveling around in SG. This place is very clean, the lady that showed us our capsule was kind and explained everything. The internet is very fast here. Took a bath after arriving, the bathroom is very clean and has soap/shampoo. The capsule has a place to put your laptop with outlets to charge your devices. The breakfast is nothing special, but good enough since it's included. They also have a washing machine and a dryer so you can wash your clothes. At night in the capsule I can hear noise from outside the building but it gets quiet much later at night. On the last morning, some Spanish speaking people were up around 4.30 am and talking so loud very annoying as if it's pm time, even more annoying because I can understand all the rubbish they are talking. People need to respect others that are still sleeping at that time! Cube is a good place to stay if you don't want to stay in some expensive hotel and will be outside most of the time enjoying SG.
Excellent place to stay - clean and modern!”
My first time staying here, stayed for 4 nights and had no problems. Location - The hotel is located in a very safe area, I came back every night around 10pm and felt very safe walking from the train station. Only less than 5 mins walk to Chinatown train station. I used the train everyday, so it was very convenient. The hotel is also nearby to lots of shops, restaurants, street food, bus stops, money exchangers, etc. Chinatown is a one stop for all your souveniours. Capsule - I got a towel, bottle of water and dental kit on the bed on arrival. Just to note; capsules/beds are not cleaned daily, towel and bottled water not provided daily. My capsule/bed was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. There are little fold out tables inside the capsule, which was great for my laptop. And also power outlets, a mirror, reading lamp, a hanger and a towel rack. There is a large storage for luggage just below my bed, big enough for 2 medium luggage. It was about 1 metre deep, so sometimes I had to crawl half way in to get my stuff when it goes a bit far back. Hahaha, but that's my own fault because I just chuck stuff in. Given that there were 11 other capsules/people in the room, it was very quiet and I slept like a log. The blackout curtin was great, but can get a bit stuffy when it's fully down. So, I slept with the curtin a bit up and it was perfect. Facilities - The card system used to swipe in to the room, luggage storage and shoe locker was great, I felt my stuff was safe in the storage. There were a number of bathrooms available, I never had to wait to use one or maybe I just didn't go during peak hours hahaha. I found the bathrooms to be very clean; it is a shower and toilet in one, so felt very private. There is a shampoo, soap and a hairdryer available. The only awkward part was the level 2 bathrooms are located right next to the reception desk and opposite the bar area. Sometimes, I walked out and see people waiting to check in. But, it's all good. The included
Perfect option for basic and comfy short-term stay.”
We stayed here for 3 nights. This was our 3rd time in Singapore and this place was the best! +++ It's really clean! The staff was super-friendly and helpful, like aircraft business-class. Quick transfer (only 9 SGD per pax) to airport at different time (even at 4:45 AM). Fast Wifi great for digital nomads! No bad smell, no insects. Famous chicken-noodle right under the Hotel! Subway, chinatown, bus stop, downtown in short walking distance. Small bar with coffee-machine and nice choice of drinks for reasonable prices. Bathrooms has more space than usually in SE-Asia. Never saw queue to WC. - - - The main issue - no place to handle the wet towel! Hooks and rail in the capsule enough only for clothes. Breakfast is too junky (fried noodle, toasts, milk with cornflakes) - no healthy option. C'mon! It's 2017! It is freezing cold in the rooms and it's hot in the capsule at the same time. The luggage storage for double capsule is the same size as for 1person-capsule. It's too tiny for 2. The shoes storage has no ventilation, so after 1 night there will be really bad smell. Some guest don't know what means "keep silence in the room"...
The hostel was pretty easy to locate as it was only about 3 minutes away from the Chinatown MRT. It is also located nearby the must sees in Chinatown and there is even a food court nearby though I'd suggest walking to Maxwell Hawker Center for cheap eats. Though this is a hostel, it has hotel standards in terms of cleanliness and facilities. The washrooms were always clean, there were shoe lockers outside the room and luggage lockers under your capsule. You're given a key card to enter your room and open your locker so security wasn't an issue. The capsules itself were very comfortable, though it would've been better if you could control the temperature in your capsule. The curtains provided good privacy. There's free breakfast and they have cheap beers for guests. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, answering any questions you might have. Though as a solo traveller, I found it hard to meet other people as no one really hung out in the common areas that much. Overall, excellent staff, good location, and clean and secure facilities. It felt like I was staying at a hotel. I would highly recommend this place for people to stay at. Even though it's on the pricier side compared to other hostels, it's definitely worth paying for.
Consistent, quiet, great location. ”
Second stay here, this time in the midst of the coronavirus (mid Feb’20) so was the only guest in the 4 capsule room on upper floor. First night I had the upper capsule (much more awkward than the lower ones). The USB charger didn’t work so they moved me down to the lower capsule for next 2 nights with an apology. Maybe because it wasn’t so busy my second stay but given the location (in Chinatown) was surprised at how quiet it was. Bathrooms clean and working fine. Good showers. Fluffy towels. My only ‘mild’ dissatisfaction was breakfast BUT ONLY because I’m a plant based picky eater who wants oatmeal, seeds and soy milk of which there was none. There was however toast, jams, watermelon, noodles, cornflakes or 2 other cereals, hard boiled eggs, coffee as thick as oil ☺️, tea and plenty of water. Be aware that the early airport transfer at 06.45am doesn’t happen on a Saturday so you’ll need to take a Grab ($20). Overall really happy: would recommend and would stay again too. Tx Cube!
The hotel was great, it was my first time to stay at a capsule. For its location, we always use Exit A of Chinatown MRT, 3 mins walk, and its near the food street and affordable souvenir shops. For its cleanliness, the rooms are okay, it doesn't smell bad because there is a shoe locker outside our room for each guests, for the shared toilet for each floor, at late night, some toilet room are messy, water splashes and tissue papers on floor, but some are clean, but when we use it in the morning, around 5-7am, it is already clean, toilets are good coz the shower, lavatory and water closet are joined in one toilet room. The staff were great, able to communicate well, and friendly and accommodating to answer our questions and requests. For its facilities, its awesome, it is similar with high end hotels, key cards for entering the room and opening the lockers, free breakfast(fried rice, dried noodle, cereals, bread with diff choices of jams, fruits, coffee and tea) served at 7:30 -10am. It has its own bar for those who wanted to drink, and a small lounge for each floor and laundry rooms. Each guests are provided with towels, slippers, bottles water, toothbrush, soap and shampoo provided at each toilet. For each capsule there are sockets for charging. Though some of our room mates are kind of noisy but its okay, we adjusted immediately ☺ Everything was great and worth it for the price we payed. Awesome Hotel 👍
My 2nd booking - because it's really worth of money”
I decided to continue my stay for the 4th and 5th day because its worth of money. definetely a good place to stay, especially the bathroom is super big, and the room is clean too. however i stayed for 5 days but they never housekeeping my capsule. perhaps you have to request? Anyway, it doesnt impact my view tto Cube boutique capsule hotel. highly recommended.
The hotel uses the concept of a hostel-styled accommodation (multi-person per room) in combination with the Japanese capsule hotels. Here, instead of using bunk beds, co-joined sleeping booths or capsules are used to fit a lot of people into one room. The facility is clean and is regularly maintained by staff. In addition, they issue key cards for entry into the sleeping quarters and for personal lock usage. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. I misbooked a room which caused me to potentially be roomless. However, the staff provided me a prorated value for another cube to sleep in while waiting for my actual reservation to take into effect. The place also has a cozy bar that serve a decent selection of alcoholic drinks. Will recommend this to other solo travelers.
Absolutely loved our stay at Cube! The rooms were impeccably clean as were the facilities. The capsules were cozy and well equipped with outlets and storage, and felt spacious. The location is perfect between two metro stops, and in the heart of Chinatown close to shops, lots of restaurants, and a hawker market across the street with a Michelin starred hawker stand. The staff was phenomenally helpful and the service was impeccable. Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!
Good for budget hotel”
Everything is simple for this hotel. The location is near from Chinatown Station. I just know i'm claustrophobia when i was stay in the cube, I feel uncomfortable in the night time. The air-con in the cube was too soft and atmosphere was too hot in there but outside the cube was too cold. First night we've tried to invert and let our head to get the cold from outside and the second night it ended up with USB fan. That's perfect! Breakfast is too few, you will get some boiled egg with salt and pepper, bread, toast, fruits, and some local food. I just want some fried egg or half boiled egg!! :( And also not comfortable with the bathroom,. Anytime you want to use the bathroom, you need to walk pass the reception. By the way, the staff was nice, the co-working space was ok, the location is near from Chinatown Station.
Awesome Experience as Single Traveler”
I have never stayed in capsule hotel before, because i dont like sharing room with strangers, however when I saw Cube's pictures, I had to give it a try. Staying for 2 nights last weekend, and it was one of the greatest experience. The room and amenities are clean, receptionists are friendly and helpful. Overall was a great stay for a quick, short and hectic trip, and I would recommend this to my friends and colleagues. Great for staying if you are traveling alone. The locker is a huge plus, as key is easily operated with minimum hassle to keep my stuff safe. The cube concept gives the needed privacy for sharing room.
Fantastic value: luxe, clean and comfy with some room for improvement”
Capsule: Space-efficient and well-designed with comfortable bed and clean linen. Very hygienic, sleek and of superb quality all around (the build, mattress, lights) Location: Brilliant! <5 mins to catch a bus or train if you so wish. Accessibility: Difficult to climb up to upper capsules on steel stairs without additional stool if you're short and <165cm, especially when going down. Staff: Super friendly, helpful and informative. Facilities: Bathrooms were clean, luxe and beautifully designed. I faced locking problems with 1 bathroom which was fixed the next morning. Several hairdryers not working. Still, excellent experience here. No conditioner though so do get some for your stay. Sharing experience: Excellent on my quieter nights except for a particularly disruptive experience w a group of European girls who talked in loud whispers and watched videos on their phone way past midnight. The other people in the capsules will shape your experience at CUBE so do keep this in mind.
