              Great little hotel, great staff.”

Large comfortable rooms, helpful staff, good quality accomodation, service and food.

We stayed a few nights on our way back to Thailand and always try and stay around 172 Street as it has a good atmosphere. Le Cyclo has huge well appointed rooms and is typically French in it's outlook on service, we had a slight problem with the aircon and shower on arrival and this was immediately dealt with, even offered an upgraded room. The staff are all curtious and friendly, the owner and his family are welcoming an approachable offering good advice regarding travel as we were there over the period of the state funeral of the late King ( which was so moving and was happening all around us ). The ambience of the bar /restaurant was superb and the food was delicious, the coffee was good quality as you would expect in a French run hotel and the whole feeling was one of relaxation. We didn't dip in the rooftop jacuzzi as the weather it was very hot but it is a great space to sit and watch Phnom Penh go about it's business below you. We would thoroughly recommend Le Cyclo to anyone who is willing to pay 'flashpacker' prices as you will not be dissapointed.

Large room, great staff but air con out of puff”

Big rooms, nice restaurant, helpful staff

For the price, the Cyclo was a splendid little find. The room had tall ceilings with enough wicker furniture to keep it's weaver in business for a decade. As with many bathrooms in Asia, it was a bit of a squeeze, but for the tired early riser the proximity of the shower and toilet allows for a seated splash. The air conditioning lacked enough puff to cool the room alone, but was helped gallently by a fan. The staircase was rather steep but the excellent staff helped with our bags and even stopped us getting ripped off by tuk tuk drivers outside the hotel. There was also a little games room with a computer, x-box and pool table hidden behind a group of smoking men playing dice. The restaurant served some excellent pre-Phnom Penh exploration grub, especially the goats cheese salad. There's also a jacuzzi on the roof if you fancy feeling like a Playboy.

Fine French hotel/restaurant in the heart of Town”

Great restaurant, relaxing ambience, spacious rooms

Le Cyclo is a French owned hotel which recreates a French hotel/restaurant perfectly. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back and guests are made to feel welcome. The downstairs bar and restaurant attracts a lot of French expats who use it as a meeting place to congregate. The hotel rooms are clean and spacious set in a French colonial building. The rooms are nice and cool thanks to the high ceilings, they are also equipped with very efficient A/C and there is also a wall fan fixed directly over the bed. The mattresses are firm and comfortable and the furnishings simple but suit the architecture of the building. I especially liked the furnishings in the downstairs bar/ restaurant , high stools with a cushion and high tables and also plush comfortable sofas on the patio for dining al fresco. The food does the place justice too, it's excellent authentic French cuisine at very reasonable prices. The patron is very helpful and friendly and so are the staff. Given the cost of the rooms Le Cyclo offers very good value and I felt right at home there. Will stay there again next time I'm in the city and will also recommend it to my friends

              Great stay and great staff”

Friendly welcome, clean rooms, great location

I really enjoyed my stay at Cyclo and would recommend it to fellow travellers. Le Cyclo is a nice affordable hotel owned by a lovely french family, also running a very interesting NGO in Cambodia. The rooms were clean and big enough, with TV, air con and a little fridge. My room was very calm and not disturbed by neighbors or surrounding noises. I also enjoyed the restaurant and breakfast, the restaurant place is cosy, with viewing the street, and you can access high-speed internet from there. A big part of the french community of Phnom Penh comes here which gives a nice atmosphere. The location is great and very close to the national museum, royal palace, markets, etc. The staff is helpful and very nice. Also close to various restaurants, khmer of international. I stayed there 3 times in 3 weeks, whenever I was passing by Phnom Penh and I will come back again!

great place, nice and helpful staff”

great jacuzzy, pool table, and delux tuk tuk for large families

the staff was great (especially if you speak French, because they don't all speak English!) The jacuzzy was just excellent after a big day of sight seeing, to relax and watch the sun set over the busy city. The location is good, but no matter, if you go to Phnom Pehn, you will be needing to take a tuk-tuk some time or another. In which case, they have a delux tuk-tuk for the hotel, which is great if you have a big family (with six adults we could fit comfortably). Although it is a little more expensive than regular tuk-tuks, we were able to take it for the day at a resonable price and it was worth it. The rooms are clean, with a touch that made me a little nostalgic of back home (in France), we had a double room on the 4th floor, and the family mezzanine room. All rooms give to a balcony tarrace, and muffle out the surrounding chaos quite well (Phnom Pehn never stops buzzing, so a bit of quiet was nice!) The mezzanine has a funny hobbiton feeling... I felt I was in the Shire from Lord of the Rings, because the roof is very low, as well as in the bathroom, it gives a curious effect. Not to worry, the down stairs have high ceillings even in the bathroom, it's just in the mezzanine. Unfortunately the restaurant is a little expensive, but there are lots of restaurants near by. PS. No matter where you are in Phnom Pehn, you will end up having to take a tuk-tuk... things just seem far apart in this city (full day hires are a good idea)

Character, charm & a great goat cheese salad”

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, clean room, good food

my preferred guesthouse was booked during my trip, but this was a good alternative. the street is lively but on my top floor room, it was quiet. you can find cheaper places around that might be as nice, but there is a certain je ne sais quoi that made me want to stay on after my agoda booking was up. don't expect much from the jacuzzi though, it's cold water (?) and dirty i'm afraid to say. that was my only disappointment. also shower water pressure was an issue in my room. the manager (owner?) said it was normal throughout he city, but i never had this experience staying in phnom penh before. it was fine at certain times, but there was just a trickle a couple of times.

              location, room size, jacuzzi

The hotel is located in the very center of Phnom Penh in an old french villa. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bath is functional, depending in which room you are staying. A very nice add-on is the jacuzzi on the roof top, perfect to cool down at hot days.

the cyclo was a good stay at a good price. you can walk to the national museum and the royal palace. the rooftop cold tub was great after a long day of sightseeing. the restaurant is good but expensive, if you walk down the street 2 minutes you can get food and drinks for half the price. overall good stay though.

Nice design, friendly staff, great bar

We came across Le Cyclo when we stopped in the bar for a drink - they're French-owned and run, so they keep a good stock of wine. We enjoyed the bar so much that we decided to stay for a night and check out the hotel. The rooms were nice enough, but there was no safe in the room, and no lift - not much fun if you're staying on the top floor, as we were! Fine for the price though, and since we were only staying one night, the stairs weren't a big deal.

Great little hotel in good location”

Friendly attentive Staff, Clean comfortable room, great location.

We arrived and were given one of the small basic rooms in the newer part and the staff apologised that they could not give us a large room at the front with balcony as requested as they were full. I wouldn't recommend these basic rooms as that is what they are...... but we were moved next day and as per usual the room was clean and comfortable with a balcony giving views over the nearby temple grounds and PP. The hotel's location means you can comfortably walk to the riverside, 172 street bars on the doorstep and the Royal Palace nearby. The staff are friendly and helpful, ready for a chat and advice if required, they are not pushy and clearly have been taught well by the French owners whilst still retaining their Khmer sense of humour and politeness. The Cyclo is a bit more expensive than some other hotels in that area but you are guaranteed a comfortable stay, but only if you have the rooms at the front.

Friendly staff, good food, good location

We appreciated the hotel was known to the random tuktuk driver at airport, no directions indications needed. there is a great bar/restaurant with comfortable seating outside and A/C inside. Very friendly staff, great home cooking. They arranged good price transport to Siem Reap and ensured we were picked up correctly and taken to the main bus. lots of bars and eateries nearby, short walk to the river and main attraction. The room was several floors up with no lift, but staff helped people with suitaces. Room was basic, no windows, but clean and comfortable.

great central location easy waking distance”

clean rooms, attended everyday with water stockup, nice rooftop terrace, breakfast croissant or chocolate croissant fresh in everymorning and delicious

this is a great guesthouse to be comfortable in especially if you are planning to stay more than a few days. the location is close to river, central market, national museum as well the palace and pagoda if that is your thing. some reviewers complain about the stairs but we were on the top floor and really loved it great views of the street and the monastery next door. stairs! who cares! gives you a bit of exercise. the restaurant is a bit expensive but there are so many other options close by it doesn't matter. it is on a corner which gives it a more open aspect and makes it not feel so crowded in like a lot of the places closer to the river. would definitely stay here again.
