i was staying here from time to time once i travel to KK, i have tight budget, and want to stay in the heart of the center, this place is perfect. small room, but enough for me. live music sounds can be heard at night, if u sleep early, then this is not a place for ya. there is a room i stayed with my bf, super cozy, has a wonderful balcony, it's a bit old, but still romantic

Happy with our stay here. staff is friendly and will give 'salam' to greet you. The room is clean with big balcony view to shop. A bit noise coming from a live band downstairs. Easy to get food from restaurant and market nearby.

location, comfortable and staff very accomodating
We were expecting a regular back packers place but the place is almost like a boutique hotel. We were informed about a band playing downstair however the volume is manageable and ended at a decent hour. Strongly recommends this place.

    SO MUCH AWESOME!”
    Clean, strategic location, full excitement.
I really can't believe how well they turn from low rate hotel (based on previous years in comment) to one of the best hotel for travellers. The hotel is clean, even the toilet feels so fresh. Non ever there were eerie feeling going there during our stay. The location is quite strategic since it is located near attractive places such as Pasar Kraftangan, Suria KK etc.. (15 minutes walk), express bus station (5 mins), many restaurants and convinience store along the road and even near to the airport bus shuttle station. The staff was very nice and friendly. It was feel like we're friend with them along time before. During night, there will be a bit noisy since they have a bar beside the hotel which have live performance every night from 9pm to 1am. Ok bah kalau kau. ps: For first timer, you may feel KK is so much like an elves town. In a good way that is. At noon till evening, the town would be so quite. Not many people around, not many cars and even the supermarket doesn't blast their speakers for attraction. But at night.. they have totally different face. Eatings places here and there, many night markets all around even the scenery is so....well speechless.

It is located next to a bar and they have a live band, it is quite loud. But the staff are very accommodating and can move you to a quieter room. Rooms were very tidy and a good size. Loved having our own balcony.

the room clean & near to ferry port
the staff was helpful when i reach this place from airport at 10.30pm..using taxi airport to this place take for 18 or 20min since it is not traffic jam & the price is RM25 or RM30 if im not mistaken..anyway, when i reach the reception, the receptionist inform me that there will be a bit noisey when this place is located with bar local performance until 12.30 or 1am..the room was nice & clean..this place is located near the ferry terminal (heading to labuan)..i can walk to the ferry terminal for 25min.. So, if anyone who like to stay in peaceful place..dont stay here since it will be noisey until midnight..

    CENTRAL”
    LOCATION, CLEANLINESS & NICE STAFF
It was a pleasant short stay of 1 night, nice clean room and aircon was cold. Lots of eatery surrounding the hotel. There is a live band nearby so, just be aware of it for those who are light sleeper, and no elevator. It was ok for me, not much fuss about it. Would return to stay here again if on a short budget trip.

    Comfortable and affordable stay”
Centre of the town, the bar and various restaurants nearby
I've stay here in the lodge for 4 days during my convocation week. As for young adults, this would be a good place to stay as there's a good bar downstairs, restaurants and also live bands performing every night. Some travelers might find that the live band performing in the middle of the night are noisy but as for me, I find that it's enjoyable and relaxing.

    Location, Room and staff
It was worth the money and overall ambience was good. The only week point was, if someone wants to sleep early, you would have to sleep ignoring the live band which closes at 11:30 on weekdays and 12:30 on weekends.

Excellent backpacker hotel ,good location + staff”
Good value rooms with quite wide selection, desk staff, good breakfast, location, free luggage drop and internet
stayed here three nights- twice at start of our stayy in kk, once near the end (after going mount kinabalu region in middle). left stuff in free luggae drop. room decent value in what is a slightly more expensive city to backpack in than one might expect (drinking for example can be very pricey so you may wish to cut back on your accom!) the desk staff lad named cloudy gives good advice, and there's an internet computer in the lobby for free. the rooms aren't luxurious but you can pay bit more for a bit better; and we got a good 60 righit deal on the big-window room we stayed at when we returned after climbing moubt kinabalu. one huge flaw is not offering towels at all to many rooms (bizarre seeing as they do provide for example air-con!), and we had to ask when staying in the first room. there was also a persistant smell of vomit in one of the stairwells. breakfast is a choice of western or asian breakfast, essentailly, and it was good without being superb. would almost certainly stay here again, although there seems to be a few (cheaper?) backpacker dives a bit further off the main drag that might not be on agoda. i would perhaps check them out first if i was particulalry looking to "rough it" (which there's nothing wrong with)... regardless, thanks for a great stay.

Great and strategic location but small rooms”
located in the centre of KK town, very easy to access to shopping mall and local markets even just by walking.
Overall, it is a pleasant stay in Rainforest Lodge, the reception staffs are very friendly and helpful. However, the room is a little small with no place to hang clothes and the stairway has weird smell. Yet, it is a good place to stay for young travelers.

Many bathroom available, separated by genders, each bathroom with heater and toilet bowl (not separate)
Lobby lounge good, toilet clean, sufficient number of toilet, all in one toilet (heater with toilet bowl). The worst thing is the room only have bed and that's all. No cupboard, no table, no chair, not a single thing. Well, I can accept that for a backpacker room but not when come to difficulty in hanging my towels after shower. Argg the towel holder wasn't dat expensive for them to install.. end up no place to hang. So inconvenient!

    Budget hotel with unchanged bedsheets”
It is very near the City Hall, Wisma, Merdaka Square, KK Plaza and Fililipo Handicraft.
At first glance, the lodge is nicely situated in the middle of everything with a bar and restaurants at the ground. You have to walk up to the second and third floor to reach the rooms. I booked a double deck room (4 beds dorm room), the room smells like it wasn't cleaned for the past 2 months. There's a cockroach roaming in the room and the bedsheets and blankets smell so bad. These are not changed, obviously. I stayed in the same room with 1 day apart, and the mark of my bag on the bedsheet is still there! The toilets are not cleaned up. You will see the two cleaning ladies lounging in the seats near the toilet, eating, seating, playing with their kid, reading books and listening to the radio. That's what they do. The toilets got faulty knobs (I was trapped in one cubicle due to the faulty knob), the toilets are sorta the laundry drying area of the cleaning ladies/staff, complete with their plates and utensils! And if you plan to have a good night sleep, better not stay in this place because they have a band singing their hearts out until around 2am. This place is suitable for the people on a budget, but then again, there are a lot of other inns/lodges/hostels available that are good for the travellers on a budget.
