Nice budget rooms”
We got two standard rooms with a door between. We loved to sit in the shade on the balconies and used the pool quite a lot. The rooms were clean and cleaned well. The bathrooms could need an update as they felt half finished. The restaurant was ok. The breakfast buffet was pretty basic. To summarize: an ok resort. Nothing fancy or special but nice and clean.
Lovely resort, perfect for the beach and town.”
The resort appears to be well maintained, the staff are lovely too. Our bungalow required improvements, the paint was looking aged, the bathroom quite worn and the fridge needed replacing some while ago. The room had clean linen every day and the bathroom was serviced though it could have been better. Breakfast was 'average' but ample, the bar food was ok but nothing special. There are many more positives than nevatives at this resort and I would be happy to recommend iyt
Great value delux building”
Best value for a while in Thailand in my last 25 trips/years. Delux building and bungalows as well are built on good standars. I was in delux building which can be recommended. Spacious room and balcony as well toilet/shower. Only thing was hot water power. Location on just the beach which is clean. Brkfast was quite good, eggs done as requested. Going to Saladan pier was quite easy, take a tuk-tuk (50bht/person) or just walk. Hotel personnell were nice and they took good care (not anymore standard in Thailand).
Lovely resort in idyllic location”
Nice size rooms in pretty grounds. Very good breakfast included. WiFi was reliable. Set right on a beach with shallow water so ideal for families with young children. Two good size pools but it was a shame there wasn't any shade provided at the second pool which was a peaceful retreat.
Good but wrong time of year”
This was a nice resort on what I would imagine is a beautiful beach in the dry season. Unfortunately we were there in July and there was rubbish all over the beach and jelly fish. My advice is don't go to Lanta in the wet season. Most things are shut down so not much happening. Also we found it very expensive to eat or shop.
Perfect for famlies”
Very good value for money, fine breakfast buffet, a lot of space at the two Nice pools, Nice Staff and place and quiet. We Will be back (and actually came back for another three days after onde week at long Beach). Lot of swedish families, but They were Nice. We were there at the end of the sensor, so the place was only 1/3 full. I dont know how it goes in the peak season.
Very good. Nothing to complain. Its low season now, so not all services were available, but thats fine. Owner got us taxi to Siam Clinic, when we needed doctor. Cleaning every day. Free toiletries and two water bottles every day. Little minimarket 100m away. Good restaurants near by (100 and 250m away). Hotel had only few breakfast choices. Pool was clean.
Thank for your stay at here i hope you will be back here again for next time
Great hotel with affordable price”
During low season (May-Oct), the hotel has a very good rate because not so many people come to Koh Lanta during this season. It's very quiet, private. The staffs are supportive. One minus point is some of the staffs do not know English, which is important for the receptionist. Restaurants are closed during low season, but it is better to find local food in the town. The garden is so beautiful and we love our stay here.
Lovely front beach”
This is a nice family resort. The rooms are wide with lots of storage. The beds are huge and one room can easily accommodate a family of 4. It´s not a quite and peaceful hotel taking into account de amount of children that run around. The swimming pool is then definitely not a pleasant place but conversely the front beach is a good alternative. There can you find a lot of options like going for a paddle lesson or if you prefer a nice foot massage. Personally I found de staff a bit rough but the hotel was so overcrowded that it becomes difficult sometimes to be nice under pressure. They announce that they have free wi-fi but it never works unless you pay for it. Koh Lanta is a lovely island full of diversity and good energy. From the hotel you can easily ask for a tuk tuk and go to the city center.
Clean,Friendly,Helpful service,Great food”
We stayed 6 nights & were impressed with the relaxed atmosphere of this hotel. 2 clean pools , lots of nice swedish people. Rode mopeds around the Island. Elephant ride through the forrest.Memorable snorkling trip. Lanta old town is worth a visit and there is always something happening at night somewhere .There is something for everyone here.
Ok for families with kids”
Ok place if you are travelling with younger kids or babies. Good location on the Khlong Dao-beach and close to Saladan. But nothing special, the service is a bit so so and watch out for bed bugs, they've had a lot of problems with that. And be prepared that it is almost only people from sweden staying at this place.
Very nice owner operated hotel on the beach”
We stay at DR Lanta for almost 3 weeks in the very low season. It was wonderful. Both pools have a kid pool that was great for our 3 year old. The beach is wonderful for people with little kids. It's calm and shallow. It's a short ride in a tuktuk or walk up the beach into Saladan. There's a great German bakery within walking distance. There's a cooking school right on the beach to the south of the hotel where you can learn to make great Thai food. DR Lanta isn't as fancy as the hotel next door, but the service is much better.
Great staff, great location, good price”
We stayed in low season, so the resort was very quiet. They upgraded us to a bungalow which was a little dated but clean and large. The pool was lovely, and the resort is right on the beach. The manager was really kind. We were sick for a couple of days and hec checked up on us. When we moved to another resort ( I needed wifi for work and DR Lanta does not have it in low season) they even gave us a free ride! My only complaint is that it should be made clearer on Agoda that some facilities maynot be available during low season (wifi, bar, restaurant).
Breakfast could be Better
close to the beach!”
rooms were large & clean! the beach was huge with nice sand. the staff (especially the lady at the front desk with short hair) was extremely helpful with everything ! would go back
Great value, close to beach”
Spacious and clean room in Delux building.
there are no cons! For a really better place, you must pay much more money!
wonderful rooms with large balconies.”
we were a group of 4. everyone enjoyed the feeling of being at an all-inclusive resort: great rooms, awesome pool, good restaurant with wifi, and near the beach.
if U R not driving- U R like a prisoner in the hotel ”
the hotel is on the beach but unlike what you see in the map - its has no connection to the main road , it take an hour to walk & the hotel dosnt have free shattle. every time u want to get out of the hotel they charge you 50 bht each every direction the room is very big & good .breakfast is wonderfull but the area is so hot, not even one fan. stuff is not nice at all (only one old guy is nice) . the minimart has almost nothing to sail , the food in the hotel resturant is not good ,even thai food- you better go buy& eat in other resorts along the beach.
Low Season left something to be desired”
While we knew we were traveling during the off season, we didn't know that EVERYTHING would be shut down. There were a few restaurants on the beach, but we found the food very bland as it was cooked for foreigners rather than in local Thai style. We repeatedly asked for spicy and finally gave up and ordered a hamburger. The last two days of our stay, the beach front patio was unavailable as they were constructing a sea fence. The staff was completely unresponsive. The woman behind the front desk never even bothered to look up from her computer the entire time. When both kids were stung by jelly fish, she suggested we go to 7-11 for vinegar... she didn't give us directions or try to help. Fortunately, one of the men workers obtained vinegar from the kitchen. The pool was great, but full of chlorine. Opening your eyes was impossible. Our biggest disappointment was the beach. We are fortunate to be living in Bangkok, but if I were to travel thousands of miles to a beach only to find to hopelessly littered with trash I'd be furious. Then again, we haven't found many beaches in Asia that are clean. It is very disappointing. I pray one day the locals will realize that people will stop coming and will spend dollars elsewhere for a clean environment. I don't like swimming with shampoo bottles, and I hate having to pick up light bulbs, beer bottles, and tires, prior to throwing a Frisbee with my son. Overall, a good time, but like any of our beach vacations the filth of the beach is a thumbs down. If you want a clean beautiful beach, go to Australia.
