Super mad og ekstremt venligt og opmærksomt personale.
A frightening nightmare please read for your safety ”
I experienced an utterly frightening experience. I had an intruder in my room who had accessed the room with a hotel door key at 3am. This was proven on print out of key activity. The staff and the particularly rude and agressive manager told me I was mad and had left the door open. My bags had been rifled through and money stolen. He had been in my room before I woke up and discovered him. When i shouted at him luckily he fled.. with a substantial amount of cash. This was a terrifying ordeal as I was travelling alone and female., to make it worse the hotel did nothing to support me or help or accept any kind of responsibility for what had happened to me and refused to believe. I went to the police who will be conducting a thorough investigation. Please do not stay here there are many lovely homestays nearby. AVOID!!! I have travelled alone for over 20 years and have never had anything like this happen before.
Great for relaxing and Pigeon Island”
Had a hick up when I arrived the garden deluxe room I had booked overlooked a concrete roof! I was told this was considered a garden view. I was moved up a floor and then received garden view. Thought senior management could have handled this a little better, but my stay was great because of the lovely staff, good food, great location. Strange playing of large screen music videos over dinner, but overall a nice hotel.
Great place! ”
We had a great time staying here. It’s a shame there isn’t much around though, we were getting a bit anxious being at the hotel all day. We rented scooters for a day from the hotel and also went diving with Ypsylon, it was great! The food was great! We loved the breakfast buffet! :)
Best on offer..... and we looked around in person too!”
After reading many reviews and doing our research we were a bit hesitant after reading some reviews that pointed out this hotel is a 'concrete block.' Like all reviews, you have to sift through them all and find a happy medium; therefore, we went for it. And how thrilled are we that we did. The hospitality is warm, sincere and authentic. Roy (Head of F&B) was sensational. Do strike up a conversation with him and learn more about the Sri Lankan customs, culture and food. The beach is rustic and unassuming. Yes, there is some debris and plastic washed up, where in the world isn't there. Don't let this get in the way of taking a swim in the green clear waters, with rolling waves...There are two large pools, ideal for families and kids. Which was perfect for us as it prevented kids running riot around the beach lounges on the sand. Normally resorts can charge outrages prices for food and drinks as they have you in there snare. At Anilana, we were shocked at how reasonable the prices are!
Best on offer, on balance.”
Reading previous reviews about this particular being a 'block of concrete' did raise some questions for us. The staff are warm, friendly and willing to go the extra mile. For a resort, the Food and Beverage prices were fair, and the offering were diverse and flavorsome! Beautiful, rustic and unspoiled beach await you. Yes, there is some washed up debris and plastic, but where isn't there the world over?! You get a sense that this place will be booming in a few years. Hopefully, this little gem does not become too commercial and they keep this place as humble as possible, which gives it its charm and sleepy personality, in a good way! The pool is great for families and little kids. Perfect for us who wanted quite time on the beach to relax without screaming kids running a riot. Overall, very happy with our stay. Roy (Head of F&B) is a delight. Make the effort to get to know him by striking up a conversation. Will be back!
The Isolated White House”
Beautiful spot outside Trincomalee, a huge hotel, but hardly anyone staying there. A beautiful cosy spot on the lovely beach, no touts or hordes of tourists, its a lovely place to spend a quiet few days. Breakfast is fantastic, most of the staff are absolutely lovely and helpful. <Much better being in the quiet seclusion of Nilavelli that in the bustling town of Trinco.
Very friendly and helpful staff specially front manager went out of his way to help us.
no't Good value for money , no't 5 star hotel”
The hotel staff always tried to help The hotel is defined as a 5 star hotel on Agoda , but the hotel can not be more than 3 stars. The room is large and spacious, we asked for a room with SEA VIEW so we got a room in the main building far from the beach, although the room was on the 3rd floor there were still a lot of insects that were wandering around The hotel lobby is clumsily decorated and is very large without any content We took a deal with breakfast and dinner, dinner the first night was set menu , with possibilities options and not very tasty food, the second night there was a barbecue with bigger options and more delicious food The hotel is about a 20 minute drive from TRINCO in a secluded area. If I went back to the area I would take a hotel in TRINCO where there are better entertainment options The only spot of light was the charming beach near the hotel from which you can reach by boat to the nearest island
The private beach and the pool area are excellent, so are the food and the rooms. The only aspect which would have to be criticized is the level of English skills and the friendliness of some of the employees. However, the management and most of the employees are very nice and helpful.
Great contemporary style beach hotel”
Yes, its very good if a bit unkept and showing signs of cheap fixtures and fittings especially in the bathroom. The actual building doesn't work design wise (too big and lots id echoing dead space) but is well furnished. Common areas are large and minimal. Pools are very good. Food is amazing! Shower glass and tiles were dirty. Good value if you get a deal on the best suite.
Excellent hotel near Nilaveli beach.”
Excellent facilities and great food. Clean room and bathroom. Large area with well maintained garden and furniture. Boats to Pigeon island right in front of the hotel (beware of the Jellyfish). Friendly and helpful staff. Good chefs. Every reason to stay away from the city.
Loved the stay..especially the swimming pools. Staff are very attentive and the place is very clean. The only cons are the food and drink...I didn't find the buffet tasty. Nor the cocktails/drinks did much justice. Other than that I would say it's a perfect place to stay.
Lovely Place for Relaxing”
We stayed here for 4 days. They do have pros and cons. Below is for your information Lobby Entrance - the entrance is overwhelming. Very nice place and really - you will feel relax. At night it does looks like a disco bar with loads of tri-color light. It doesn't bother me at all - I just find it different.. :) Breakfast - breakfast itself is really good. Loads of food to choose from. But all are yummy I can Say. Room - now this is what I want to say. The Room itself is really huge! and I can say very clean. But the only downside of it is that the toilet is an open area - where loads of mosquitoes comes out after 5pm. Since the Toilet is open area - the mozzie do manage to sneak to our room. First night was horrible as we have loads of bites here and there. We talked to the staff the next day and they are really accommodating! They gave us cream for the bites, and anti repellant as well, put some liquid form that you can plug in electronically that can drive away mosquitoes and every night they come visit our room and put baygon to our toilet. It does help but they are still there!! Staff - The manager are really friendly and does makes sure that we are well being taken care of. He make sure that our problem in our room are solve and thus take responsibilities with those mosquito! haha.. Anyway - he's very helpful and really a good person to ask to where to go. Place - place is indeed a place to relax - if you are looking for a night light, pub or drinking place you should not go here. This is where you want to relax - sleep and eat and enjoy the beach. Overall i did enjoyed my stay here :)
brand new hotel with nice facilities”
We arrived during a soft opening period , The staff are english speaking locals who have a wide range of international experience that they bring to the hotel, they understand their industry and guests needs. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful.(including the chef who will try and accomodate your personal needs) Rooms were minimalistic, bright & clean.Ours was chalet style opening onto the pools. 2 large pools. The hotel private beach area is small but you have the very nice public beach which is beautiful white sand and the attraction of the area pigeon island where you can snorkel is directly opposite. great place for family holidays or couples alike. We will definately be returning shortly . Trinco is a long drive from colombo but def worth the journey
Positives: The pools and beach facilities were very good. We stayed in the chalet rooms which were great (worth specifying a room opposite the pools as not all are). Negatives: service is extremely patchy. All prices are exclusive of service and tax which are combined as a single amount and add another 30% on everything. This is annoying as one can’t penalise poor service. The food is expensive and the hotel is remote from alternatives.
what I loved most was the beach. It was just serene and clean. Facilities were nothing much, just big swimming pool. Even eating area was open air, no air conditioned and full of flies. Staffs needed some training badly, as they didn't have any idea what is hospitality. Sri lanka is still a long way to go to be a good player in tourism industry.
Perfect getaway, fantastic staff and oasis of tranquility”
We have just returned from Sri Lanka where we travelled around a bit and I had looked for somewhere that I thought would be relaxing with a bit of style for the final days. Anilani Nilaveli Resort was the perfect choice. The staff were wonderful, they could not do more to make our stay perfect. As it is right at the start of the season, the hotel was very quiet which meant that the breakfast and dinner buffets were usually not available, but the staff made sure that we still had plenty of choice and were very happy with everything. The hotel is very beautiful and if you are looking for a tranquil get away right on the beach, this is perfect. We were feeling very lazy so mainly read by the pool, went swimming in the sea, did some jet skiing and a fantastic snorkelling trip to Pigeon Island. I would not hesitate to return again and was sad to leave it behind. The food was very high quality, the rooms were large and beautifully designed.
