The management need to pay better attention to the state of each room re cleanliness, upgrades to bedding and furnishings, as everything is in poor repair and as a consequence it is a most uncomfortable stay. Front desk staff do their best to keep customers satisfied but cleaning and maintenance staff let them down. We will never return.
Great 2 day stay”
Great location to the north of Melbourne. Great experience staying here with a really great breakfast in house. Rooms were good for our requirements, not huge but clean. All staff encountered were friendly and willing to help. Will stay here again.
Fire alarms accidently activated 2 times on the third floor within 5 days, so worry. ”
I've been staying here awhile with different room, but I noticed most room window had gap even when I closed very tight, bed next to window with very cold air goes inside especially at night in winter, the hotel locked the heater at 25C, could not increase the temperature, with cold air gone inside and heater on at 25C which drop the room temperature down, not sure how cold but I have to put on a jumper while sleeping because I used the blanket just to block some gap of the window to minimise cold air come inside.
I paid for 3 nights though Agoda App, which cost me about $45 Aud/night. Very good deal.”
2 adults with a double bed room normal price was about $65 Aud. But when looking inside Agoda App its said $200 Aud/night with 78% discount down to $45 Aud/night (only for 1 adult with single bed room) and I think this is totally wrong advertised from Agoda. No free internet cost about $5/day. Carpark cost $16/day for guests and that worked out $71Aud/day without breakfast. This is not discount at all because with 1 single bedroom cost $71Aud/night and to me it was an average price. I think the Hotel should free parking for guests or maybe free internet.
Perfect overnight to avoid sleeping on the road whilst driving”
Everything was great perhaps a 1 x bowl, plate, cutlery would be handy
Staff were generally helpful, the card system in the lifts is very annoying, cost of parking is a little high, possibly a flat rate of$10 per stay not $16 per night. One of the rooms we've been I In over the last few months actually had wrappers and rubbish on the floor, and another hadn't been vacuumed at all. In saying that the place is great value for money, location is great.
Shocked to say the least at this grimy, poorly maintained and dilapidated hotel. The bed needed replacing 10 years ago as did furniture with laminate peeling off and blinds which were filthy.....and we stayed in the top category suite. What a den of iniquity.
You Get What You Pay For”
Pros: very hot water, washer and dryer unit (much cheaper and still just as efficient as coin laundry facilities, even though I had to run the dryer twice), bed was pretty comfy, the guy who works JD's Diner was nice Cons: PARKING costs $16/day, the key works only half the time, door is heavy and very loud when opening and closing, housekeeping never comes around, one of the windows in the room is broken, emergency alarm got activated FOUR times during the duration of our stay, kitchen is completely unequipped for guests, only one washer and dryer unit for each floor, air con in room did not work, maintenance couldn't fix air con issue
Great location, I stay here for business whilst in Preston. Rooms are adequate, breakfast is good, pool is nice. Not ideal if you need to be close to Melbourne CBD, but there are restaurants around the Preston area. Good comfortable budget hotel with lovely staff.
Car parking and wifi are extra cost ”
We got a morning flight to Melbourne on that day. The hotel receptionist allowed us to check-in our hotel earlier and rest in our room. I am so grateful of this. However, car parking and wifi are extra cost which need to be aware of.
Location, staff and cleanliness”
The location is great as it walking distance to tram&train station, woolworths is 15min walking from the hotel though which open til midnight. Theres one male staff at the reception which is not friendly at all. Just try to put some smile on ur face dude. Room is clean, except they didnt care to topup the amenities such as soap and shampoo, need to ask from reception. Please do topup especially for customer who stay a week or more. Overall i would stay again.
Okay, could do better”
The basic double room was disgusting, highly in need of repainting, the bathroom had barely been cleaned & I discovered the hotel was largely inhabited by people on the dole waiting to be allocated permanent accommodation. After some toing and froing I was allowed a queen&go room at what was described as a substantial discount as I wasn't prepared to pay for the room practically twice. The queen&go room was an improvement in terms of cleanliness & décor. However, the air-con had a mind of it's own & was largely ineffective. The TV also would turn on when it felt like it. The room service every three days was a little lacking in detail. The first time, my towels weren't replaced. The third time the milk wasn't replenished. It's a value hotel, however if you buy into the options it'll become an expensive place to stay quite quickly & therefore hardly recommendable in comparison to more expensive places on the surface.
rooms at bell city have traffic noise
out of CBD”
Nearby some bus/train stations.
Elevator was difficult to get to work most of the time. The toilet being inside the shower was confusing and inconvenient. Good to be near tram and bus stops, but still a trek to get anywhere. You get what you pay for, but still definitely room for improvement.
The room was very dusty. I also got bed bugs 3 nights in a row. I mentioned it on check out. Pool wasn't very clean. Loved the happy hour time and the specials for dinner. Quality value. Chips were amazing.
Value for money was pretty okay, that being said, I wouldn't pay over 80. There was dust collected in the shower fan, dust collected at the end of the bed, far side of the desk, marks on the cupboards... The bathroom is uncomfortable, a toilet in a shower to save space. The elevator is very small, and even though my stay included free wifi I had to pay for it. Was a quiet location and food was good. I would stay again if I knew my room would be cleaner, or if I was in a bigger room.
Not the best value for money”
The place is a student's home from what it looks. It is okay to stay there but consider a 30 min train ride to CBD. It's just annoying that staff isn't really proactive. Only in the end I figured out that they had a gym in the other building free of charge. Literally nothing was explained upon checkin.
The best place in the whole Victorian ”
Amazing place and one in town.much love. God bless
