The third largest province of Seoul, Gangseo is made up of green, residential and industrial areas. The area is home to the Heungguk and Myeongwol temples and the Eulsukdo bird sanctuary. The Heo Jun Memorial Museum and an annual festival commemorate Gangseo’s famous doctor of Oriental Medicine.
Formerly South Korea’s main international airport, Gimpo Airport
became a primarily domestic airport after the opening of the Incheon International Airport in 2001. Today, Gimpo is home to the 'Sky City' leisure and shopping complex, and is connected to downtown areas via Subway Line 5.
There are several hotels in the area, with Airport Hotel Seoul being the closest to the airport. Conveniently located just two minutes, or one kilometer, from Gimpo Airport, the hotel provides access to downtown Seoul via the Song Jeong Metro Station. A complimentary shuttle service is provided by the hotel to take guests to and from the airport.
