Think twice
Suitable for domestic Chinese travellers. Very difficult to communicate to staff in English. Accommodation separate company to the Spa/Resort company.... poor interface. Hotel is spread out over a large site, so lots of walking to get from room to restaurant. A la Carte menu offering by restaurant was very poor, with many items out of stock. Very difficult to get a taxi

Not good to stay for a business trip.
The hotel staff should speak English as they are in the service field. Also the smoking is everywhere which is too bad for this hotel. The breakfast is not hygiene enough. The air condition is very very poor while the light is too less. Feel like in the jungle with a lot of smoke.

very relaxing
the best things where defiantly the big swimming pool, the spa and the comfortable room
we arrived in the hotel after a few days of exploring yunnan, it was defiantly worth staying in this hotel the indoor swimming pool is huge and the spa options are great. if you would like to relax for a few days at the pool winter or summer time this place is a good option

Beautiful hotel, challenging for non-Chinese
beautiful hotel; good food
Overall, it looks like a beautiful luxury spa hotel. But the sum of small difficult experiences do chip away at that: lots of little things don't work - safe doesn't work, bathtub plug doesn't work - and repeated attempts to get them fixed resulted in polite assurances but no results. Since the visa machine also didn't work, we couldn't leave a deposit, meaning staff would come and say 'give me money' for every little thing, even a $2 swimming cap. Cocktails at the bar were made by somebody who just looked at the list of ingredients, and threw them together. For example, we had a mojito with the same taste and look as Listerine mouthwash.

5 stars hotel with 1 star service for Eng speakers
Nice decor, very details oriented, and nice facilities
I already listed the pro. It's a nice place to stay especially if u r Chinese speaker. The following points were things I experienced during my stay. Con. 1. During check in, the front desk staffs do not know what "agoda" is. They made me wait 30 minutes trying to confirm what "agoda" is until I finally demand a room and told them to check with agoda the day after (Monday) because I already paid via agoda so I wouldn't be leaving for another 5 days. 2. During check in, things are more difficult than it should be cuz most staffs do not speak English at all with some barely speaks English. The hotel should hire at least 1 person that can speak English fluently to station at the front desk if they want to advertise themselves as a 5 stars hotel. 3. There were many staffs everywhere but the hotel still struggled to give good and fast service. A lot of the staffs seemed to be confused and didn't know what to do. Maybe more staffs training? 4. What happen to central heating system? Or my own heating system in the room? 5. Food: buffet is huge but maybe they should work on the English translation a bit more. (I.e. what the heck is "Muslim powdered"?) and Foie Gras should taste like foie Gras not an alcoholic duck liver with liver diseases. 6. This hotel is quite far from all tourist destinations. I would prob not stay here again unless they make some improvement regarding their staffs

Very nice hotel but lost in translation for 4 days
Inside pool, spa and western restaurant
Great hotel with very smiley staff! Room was gvery nice with baclony overlooking the inside pool. Lots of staff but none speaks a word of english! 3 of them were necessary to do my check in and my check out as none of them could speak english. Restaurant is nice and food is good but same, not a single word of english. Menu is translated in english but even in this was not helping to get the foor that I asked for. Breakfast is 99% chinese! If you are lucky you will find a croissant or some bread. Rest is just chinese food! Hotel is lcoated outside of town in very quite area. Easy to get taxi to go to the Convention Center(10-15 min). I have experience the Spa and that was a great experience. Not a word of english either but the treatments were above expectation. All together, hotel is fantastic and very clean! Staff is always smiley and trying to help eventhough they don't speak english. I would return to this hotel if visiting Kunming again in the future and do recommend this hotel to all travellers.
