another worthwhile experience”
pleasurable experience and worth the money rooms were a bit small in size especially in the bathroom where it's hard to move around in room entertainment were somewhat confined and did not have much breakfast was fine with good service
Fantastic location, historic & comfortable hotel”
I had a superb experience staying at Harbour Rocks Hotel and would definitely return again. I like historic houses and this one was well preserved and renovated. Rooms are very modern and comfortable, and the restaurant serves a fantastic breakfast. Highly recommended for anyone wishing to stay near the Circular Quay and The Rocks areas.
Nice and friendly staff”
We arrived quite late and only for one night. when we entered the room, it was full of mosquitoes, we gently asked the front desk if it was possible to move in another room which they accepted kindly. appreciate the service.
everything was great except th set up of bathroom on our room (heritage)”
The sink in bathrum was very small and placed right underneath shelf so that you can’t put the head over it to wash the face, ended up splashing water all iver the bathroom. Apart from this everithing else was excellent.
Could be better”
Great location, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still walkable distance to the city. Breakfast was delicious, and came quickly although it was ala carte. However, there were mosquitoes in the room biting me all night - I actually killed seven mosquitoes the next morning. Thought it was just my room being in the basement floor having mosquito problem, but my colleague in the 3rd floor experienced the same. There were also bloodstains on the step bin and the side of the toilet door (maybe from previous guests killing the mosquitoes?).
location and history ”
I didnt know where to stay in Sydney until a friend of a friend suggested Harbour rocks hotel where she took an occasional coffee. It was a perfect introduction to Sydney, right in the heart of the first buildings ever built there. The history is palpable. The intimacy of the small hotel is welcoming and really amplifies the atmosphere of how the city grew from this spot. The rooms are immaculate. The food is delicious and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Full mark! I shall be back.
Sydney July 18-20”
A beautiful hotel, nicely done. Looking from the outside, you will not expect the inside to be modern, clean and lovely. Softer bed mattress and fluffier pillows would make the place perfect! Love the smell of their shampoo and lotion. Their location is great too, very near the bridge, Opera house, etc...and near good restaurants..
A hotel that is way too bright ”
The staff has been helpful upon arrival. We love the interior and the heritage of the establishment. It is a beautiful Neighbourhood close to museums, seaside and restaurants. We were surprised by the fact that there is no elevator. The room fell below my expectation as the room layout was not friendly. The bed was beside the door, and the room was way too bright. The blind could not keep the lights out, my other half and I barely have any sleep over those 3 nights. We woke up by sunlight at 6am every morning. If you are an early riser, this is the best hotel however we found our sleeping experience almost non-existence. The noise level in the corridor was very loud in the morning, we could hear the bang sound as others opened and closed their doors. Towards the end of the trip we have asked the staff to helped a bottle of champagne as we need to store it in luggage to bring it home. The front desk staff promised to take care of it, by the end of the day when we went back to the hotel to retrieve our luggage for the airport we realized nothing has been done to the bottle champagne and we had a half hour delay. I would not trust their staffs to handle precious items unsupervised. I definitely will not return to this hotel for the light problem and noise level. The Creperie Suzette in the hotel have amazing crepes and coffee though, this I will definitely go back for.
Very nice hotel”
The stay was very nice. I loved the setting of the lobby and the boutique hotel feeling. My room was nice but very small (206) and the bathroom was so white, you felt in a hospital. Not very cosy. They have a great creperie downstairs and amazing breakfast with french viennoiseries. The dinner was good too but I hoped for more affordable dishes especially when you travel for business. It also feels too expensive for the setting. I would suggest having dinner outside.
Short break. ”
Another great stay at the HRH, my only criticism is there is no lift, as we are a couple in our sixties we found the stairs a little daunting as our room was on the top floor. I suggest if booking this hotel request a ground floor room.
Great weekend in Sydney”
Easy and relaxed...we didn't eat at the hotel as it is surrounded by great restaurants throughout the Rocks for both breakfast and dinner, which we wanted to try. The hotel does not have the trappings of a larger 4 star hotel, but as a boutique hotel it hits the spot for a great weekend break.
A Slice of History wedged in amongst the action”
Three generations of females, we headed to Sydney to see a show. I chose the hotel because of it's proximity to Circular Quay, The Rocks, Opera House where our show was and the availability of parking. The number of restaurants and cafes close by was an added bonus. Our room was large and very comfortable, we even had a sneaky view of the harbour and bits of the Opera House. Not too many guests so it had an intimate feel. Staff were helpful and efficient. The inhouse restaurant and bar will be an attraction when I return, as, I will be back.
We stayed for one night last weekend, had a peaceful nights sleep, room very comfortable other than would suggest pillows were too soft. Extractor fan in our bathroom didn't work...and someone else's thong was poking out from under one of the beds suggesting that the bed hadn't been checked under or pulled out when it was remade (I'm an ex very fussy motelier of many years).
An elegant, charming place to decompress.”
It was wonderful and I am already recommending it to my friends and acquaintances. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate me, allowing me to store a bag before my official arrival and giving me great tips while I was there. I will always have special memories of the Harbor Rocks Hotel as an indispensable part of my stay in Sydney.
Excellent friendly staff. Great location in 'The Rocks'. Ten minutes walk to the Opera House where we were seeing a play. Breakfast was disappointing. A very limited continental buffet, plus a limited a la carte menu. (Omelette had no choice of filling. Eggs Benedict quite tasty, but presented badly.) We'll stay again, but go elsewhere for breakfast.
Comfortable room, good location”
Good stay but wish I had been better informed about the parking arrangement as there are 2 parking lots on same road of the same company, one you can claim back, one you cant, I was not informed of that. It would have been nice when asking about the parking if they inform you to make sure you use correct parking opposite hotel and not the one further down the road. As I am not local I didn't know there were 2 parking lots until I had parked and walked down to hotel, but as they were same brand I didn't think it would matter. Other than that though great little hotel in perfect location behind opera house etc.
Great location in the Rocks”
This hotel suited us perfectly. It was small, discrete, friendly with a great reading/relaxing area and small bar. The room was perfect for our needs, though the bathroom door was a bit clunky for nighttime quiet. Situated within the Rocks, a 2 minute walk from the harbour ferries, trains (easy ride to airport) and buses. A safe and beautiful stroll at night to choose from a great variety of entertainments and food. Only negative....why don't hotels in Australia have free Wifi? Internet access is not a luxury and its a turn off when access is treated that way!
A great change from a large corporate hotel”
We booked here for a business trp as we wanted a bit of a change form the big hotels we normally stay in. I received an upgrade on my room so had a larger room which was great. I would definitely stay here again as it ticked all the boxes for me.
Perfect Location, Friendly Service”
Couldnt find a better location in Sydney, no fancy views but right in the heart of the rocks and cafes with a short walk to circular key. Service was prompt and friendly Food was delicous, and super reasonably priced - expecially during happy hour!
room is clean and nice and big spacious, but unfortunately my room is not at higher floor. my room is just beside the building's side pathway. so, it is a bit noisy when people passing by outside. a bit disappointed.
