The hotel is good, but a position has happened to me during the booking, since the currency of the reservation for the room was the view of the lake, and when the entrance to the room and informed the room, was a building facing the building obscures the view of the lake, and when you continued with the hotel to argue that there are none, and I was upset by this deal, I met with an employee of the hotel by the name of Mohammed and he served me and treated me with respect. He was shown his rooms overlooking the lake and he paid a small amount. He advised me on some services that I can do in the hotel and that is why I loved the hotel after this service.
There to celebrate our anniversary and it was great to have that room with the fireplace that overlooks the lake. Was tranquil and just perfect!
Classy hotel in a beautiful location ”
A Hilton comes with certain expectations and mostly this hotel fulfilled them. Minor quibbles include: Coffee and tea - plunger coffee or pods rather than instant sachets should be standard in the room, as should fresh milk - in NZ especially. The pool/sauna needs thought -by end of day it is littered with used towels -scheduling a clean up at 5:00 in readiness for evening use would make sense. If all lockers are reserved for spa clients, then at least shelving with baskets should be available for guests using sauna. On positive the arrangements with water taxi worked well, and made for pleasant and economical trips to town centre - by road hotel is about 8km from centre. Rooms were well designed and availability of open fire set great ambiance for winter stay. Staff were professional and friendly, food excellent as were mixed drinks and a competent wine list.
It was indeed a beautiful stay, beautiful clean room with beautiful views . Service however was subpar given the degree of the hotel . Had to call room service many times, ( for cleaning). informed staff in the morning 7am before leaving, returned at 4pm and room was still undone.
Great hotel with no parking space”
Hilton has always been a nice hotel. However, it was a pity that it does not really provide free parking spaces for its guests despite the fact that it has a facility for it. Most of the free parking areas around the hotel are on first in first serve basis, which means you don't have a reserved parking space just for you. I find this to be unacceptable and I wish that the hotel would fix this problem. Otherwise, it was a nice hotel.
5 star property on the lake”
absolutely beautiful place to stay
Modern, comfort and nice view”
We stay 5 nights with Hilton. It was amazing as the picture was with modern room design, classy and comfortable. Wakatipu restaurant was amazing with stunning dinner view and great wine selection for your special occation with your love. On site car park plenty of spaces but need to pay for 16$ for overnight parking. The location is pretty far away from the city centre, if you drive that fine
One of the factors that made our Honeymoon amazing”
Located right on the shores of the Frankton Arm , this is undoubtedly one of the best places to stay in Queenstown for a Honeymoon couple. The view from the balcony is just mind blowing. The rooms were more than what we wanted and could not ask for more. An electric fireplace , extremely comfortable beds and savories inside the Hotel. We were welcomed with a plate of delicious macaroons and everytime we came back to the room we were so happy to see towel arts and lovely quotes about relationships from our room service lady. I cannot still forget the view. The only issue anyone might face is parking. Valet parking is a bit expensive so it is better to park the car at the hill and walk down all the way to the hotel. While going back they also have a buggy service which can take you to the top of the hill to get into your car. The concierge are super friendly people as well. Honeymooners don't even think twice before booking this place if you are in Queenstown.
Luxury and fuss free commute to Queenstown via the Water Taxi!”
The jacuzzi rooms were wonderful and right by the lake side. The Hilton Spa and Resort oozes luxury at every turn. Food is excellent and room is lovely. The water taxi has a stop right at the compound. The only group is that parking can be expensive at $30/valet or $16/entry at Hilton Doubleday. If you need to drive out frequently, go with the valet option as each time you enter/exit the Doubleday carpark, you will be charged $16.
Good accommodation for families ”
Pros: close distance to the airport and ski field (remarquables) - the indoor pool is very nice - the room (Lakeside résidence 2 bedrooms appartment with kitchinette, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer) was very handy for our family - the fire place made it very cosy too. Boat ride to the city available Cons: noise from the planes taking off - staff services (almost 99% ofthe staff is foreign workers and their English is poor) - price of in room dining services is shocking (especially breakfast) and they charge 5 dols to remove the tray! - very little parking lots for free outside the hotel
This hotel would have got a 5 star review if we weren't so unfortunate on our first day. I had booked a surprise trip for my partner and sister in law. Unfortunately her room when she arrived in it was dark, cold and with a huge leak from the roof which made a substantial mess on the table. Luckily she waa able to be moved into a new room right away. Unfortunately, not long after fhis my partmer went to rake a shower after our arrival and there was no hot water. We found out after calling that the hot water had been shut off due to the leak. So, I was quite embarrassed with the facilities soon after our arrival which was a real shame given the price and expectation of staying in a Hilton hotel. Later we we're brought cookies and my sister in law chocolate and wine to apologise, however I am not sure if this would have happened without us calling to complain. The location is great and otherwise our room was fantastic and the staff all friendly. I hope we were just unfortunate that day.
Nice but not value for money”
The hotel is lovely and clean and staff were professional. However, this is one of the more expensive hotels in Queenstown and the location is not that convenient unless needing to be close to the airport. For the price of the rooms, no parking is included. This is additional per day and isn’t even part of the main building. Breakfast as a standard Buffett but nothing special to note. Note - the lake view rooms are an obstructed lake view, there is a building in front so you get about 40% of a lake view.
Fantastic stay ”
Me and my boyfriend enjoyed our time here in Hilton Queentswon. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and it was so sweet that the manager prepared a wine for us! The breakfast was fantastic; the spread was limited but the quality was top notch. The room was spacious, just that the lighting was not adjustable, hence it was quite dim to our preference. Also, the discounted water taxi is very convenient to us as it eases our transportation means. Overall, the quality of Queenstown Hilton matches the quality of other Hilton branches in other countries. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other Hilton loyal members and other visitors who are interested in a high end stay.
Check in to our room and the rooms are different as shown on picture , swimming pool is small. Booked the 2 bedroom deluxe lake view, the master bedroom is big but the others room very disappointment as room is too small. Breakfast is nice and comfort bed.
The hotel is beautiful and is perfectly positioned by the lake. There were 2 staff in particular who provided exemplary service (one was the housekeeper who showed us our room when we got lost and the other one was the staff at the reception who assisted us with checkout). There were some minor issues we experienced during check-in though. We landed quite early in Queenstown and so when reached the hotel we were told that we could leave our luggages and return at 3pm. We're also handed with our room key. We went back past 4pm and we got lost finding our room as we didnt know that there were like 3 hilton hotels in the vicinity (We were not given instructions when we checked in). To our dismay, the room key had not been activated yet when we finally found our room, so we had to go back again to the reception. Also, the housekeeping we requested was done poorly. How we left the room was almost the same as how it was after the housekeeping was done, except that they took the rubbish.
Beautiful resort but a bit isolated”
My wife and I enjoyed the spa and the pool. We had Valentine's Day dinner at the Wakatipu Grill and it was excellent. We arrived late into the breakfast buffet and both the food and the service was poor quality. The water taxi was a great way to get to Queenstown and ran on the hour and a little later on Friday and Saturday nights. Outside of the water taxi you had to take a regular taxi to get anywhere outside of the complex. We were disappointed that there were not regular bikes to rent only expensive e-bikes as there is a great trail around the the Franton Arm of the lake.
Never pay by credit card at the hotel”
I first time to New Zealand to travel. I select pay in the hotel cash or credit card in Agoda. If you use a credit card, they will charge a 2% fee first, and then use a 3.8% more than the international exchange rate. I Accept 2% handling fee, I do not accept this deceptive exchange rate. Very no happy
You must borrow bikes and turn around beautiful path along the river.
The Hilton in Queenstown just made our trip so special. When we checked in we were offered a $100 credit voucher to use at the restaurant and the food was amazing! We enjoyed going for walks around the hotel to a french bakery close by to get our morning coffees and croissants and then heading back to the hotel at the end of the day to relax with a book next to the fireplace in our room. Will definitely stay here whenever I come to Queenstown.
Disappointed with the service during stay. We had booked for a shuttle to town and we came down 5 minutes before 9am asking if the shuttle is coming. Staff said that they are bringing the shuttle around and did not mention specifically on where to wait. We went to sit at the lobby thinking the shuttle will pick its guests up from the lobby pickup point as any other hotels normally do. However, this was not the case and the staff had no initiative to check or bring to our attention that the shuttle was actually outside. You guys can possible expect guests to wait outside in the cold. At the very least, have some clear signs on where the shuttle pickup is. Service recovery for this was rather poor. Definitely did not expect this from Hilton. Other than this, we had a good stay at the hotel. Generally, the staff were helpful. The hot tub outside our room was a nice touch. Looked rather small though as compared to the pictures. The rooms are clean and the spacious. We were staying at the relaxation room. Pools were closed for maintenance. Breakfast had limited options considering this was Hilton and not doubletree. Had better options at other Hiltons.
