                    Worst place to stayI had the worst experience so far by booking this hotel. Rooms were old and the hotel is rated as 5 star , which should be rated actually rated as 1 star. No maintance , the bed sheet had stains and colours on it. There were dead cockroaches in the room. As I had taken two rooms for 1 night stay , in one of the room there was a honey bee flying around. Bathroom was worst than I could imagine , hotel staff never made any effort to clear the stains in the bathtubs and more over I was shocked when there was bucket and jug kept in the bathroom. i dont recommed this hotel to any one.

                    Horrible experience!Horrible experience as mouse were walking all night. Damaged suitcase and shirts but not any response by staff. Requested top floor but given ground floor, though they had vacant rooms on top floor. Not friendly facilities in the room!

                    Not RecommendedThe hotel doesn't has a restaurant and only option is room service for the food (source unknown) for lunch and dinner. I had booked my business travel through Agoda and stayed in the hotel for 1-day. At check-out time I asked the hotel authority to issue a "Certificate of Stay" which I need to submit in my office and it was denied. I explained them the reason also that anyone can make an online hotel booking, take printout of the receipt and then cancel the reservation and use the receipt to claim refund from the office . Its b'se of this reason our accounts department wants us to submit a certificate of stay from the hotel but all fell on deaf ears. I don't understand that if I had stayed in the hotel, why the hotel should hesitate in certifying this??? I had previously also booked from Agoda and all other hotels have issued the certificate without any hesitation.

                    Worst place to stay”

                    I had the worst experience so far by booking this hotel. Rooms were old and the hotel is rated as 5 star , which should be rated actually rated as 1 star.                     Fantastisk”

                    Pros: Breakfast was great, very helpful staff, nice bathroom, hotel food was great, nice room, and overall Expereicne was great Cons: slow WiFi, old towels, there was a small cockroach in bathroom, bed wasn’t as comfortable.

                    Overall pleasent stay but interior outdated ”

                    So far it was pleasent stay. But 1 thing I would like to mention that is room interior very much outdated . In our Bathroom toilet water springkler had a leake. Other inside room everything was so old . Seems that are upgrading entire hotel you can easily see everywhere construction work. Pros- Location specific it is best hotel. Room service for food was good. Morning breakfast included in hotel price which was worth of money. Multiple options .

                    Nice cosy hotel with issues concerning toilet”

                    Samrat means emperor and you get a cosy room good breakfast and nice food via room service. Fish grilled is worth trying. People are ever smiling courteous. But I was disappointed about their toilet flush shower curtain and bath towels. I never expected such a poor quality bath towel -no hand or face towels were provided. After asking you get another poor quality towel. Flush out the WC requires herculean force. Shower curtain is short and you have to use mug and tumbler to avoid water outside the bath tub. Bath tub has stains and you may not like to lie on it for bath. It is unfortunate for a five star hotel.

                    samrat is centrally located and looks cost effective,but only 2 floors are now open for the customers, rest is blocked for government offices like judicial activity and hence the thrust on the customers seems to have gone down. the food you can get on order only as there is no restaurant and the quality of food remains a thing of concern. Similarly the morning breakfast available as part of the package dose not match the expectations of the customer. So overall if one is looking for location only the hotel is better than railyatri niwas but fails to match the expectations of a 4 star.

                    It was my second stay at this hotel, reception staff behaviour was awful, Room was not value for mon”

                    Dear Sir, it was my second stay in this hotel. Reception counter was not well come at all, and were not polite and i felt harassed in front of my spouse. I can produce more detail if asked. I stayed previously in July 2018. At that time no extra documents were asked from my wife who is an OCI. This time the person attending on reception counter whose name was Suman Agarwal as I was told was not polite and and spoke in very authoritative and rude in my opinion. At reception counter we were compelled to wait and we felt that we were at a police station and were subjected to interrogation. Our harassment didn't end up here the room provided was horrible infested with insects(pics and video available). It was an old room with poorly working toilet flush. TV was showing poor quality. Bedsheet linen with spots of previous used. Overall they spoilt our stay. I am thinking to go in consumer court against this treatment. The stars provided to this hotel is not appropriate.

                    good position and very clean”

                    We ordered two single beds but they arranged double bed, how can two big fat men lie on a bed? Can you imagine? Finally they changed a new room for us! Ovewrall it was good experience.

                    Cleanliness”

                    Bed sheet need to change but during my stay it was not change instead they just tidy-up. The pillow need to change as I can feel it causes itchy after I have used it. And the floor was not mop, daily the room service guys just sweep the floor. Overall, it is very cozy and relax to stay in here.

                    Good hotel”

                    It is a good hotel with all basic facilities. But wifi never work well. Not a present problem . It is always same. Doors are old so you need to push it well. Breakfast very basic but i think enough for me.

                    Excellent Location, Fairly priced, Needs Major Renovation”

                    The building is good. Hotel is managed by Govt. of India employees, so we can expect certain lethargy. The food is disappointing. I was served stale food when ordered midnight and sufferred a stomach ache following day. So recommend you not to use the in room dining facility except for tea and bread. The hotel is in want of major renovation and could have been the best hotel in New Delhi once revamped. The breakfast doesn't have much choices as offered by other hotels of the same category. The staff is unprofessional in attitude and may be also rude most of the times. Would only recommend if you are looking for a place to sleep and no other facilities.

                    pathetic ”

                    we were not been attended for at least 30 mins at reception. room was not clean, stinky, dark, only 3 lights were working, hair of others were on bed, bathroom was dirty and tiles were broken, cupboard has only one door:). then we have requested reception to change the room but still no hospitality manner was there in staff. after waiting for 40 mins we have personally visited the reception desk then they have changed the room which was some how ok for only getting freshed.... plz dont waste money for such false glittery photos...

                    Horrific! Avoid!! The staff lack basic customer service skills and don’t speak English!!!”

                    It states 5 star hotel but I wouldn’t award it 1 star. The place needs a complete refurbishment and smells of petroleum throughout. There is heavy security all over the place because it is a government owned hotel. Customers are also unfriendly & rude

                    DO NOT STAY HERE!!he worst hotel I have ever stayed in: filthy, holes in walls, and terrible service”

                    Unbelievably awful. 1) dirty: the walls, sheets, light switches, everything were stained, greasy and disgusting. There was a patch on our wall where someone had obviously thrown a cup of coffee at it, and no one had cleaned it up! The bed sheets head hairs in them and horrible stains. 2) everything broken: multiple holes in the walls, door handle broken, home in the ceiling panel through which we could see exposed wires and loud electrical humming. What looked like a nice big shower instead spurted all of the water directly at the ceiling as it was so limescaled. The ceiling consequently was very damaged, the bathroom flooded and the shower unusable! 4) rude unhelpful staff: we returned to the hotel late after dinner, and were aggressively challenged by a security guard who demanded to know why we were there. Upon showing the room key, he refused to believe we were staying there and made us go to reception with him to confirm. Our room key then didn't work, meaning we had to go all the way back down (a long walk because the staircase on our side of the building became a butler site halfway down - there were no safety warning signs and it could have caused injury). It took about 25 minutes to get into our room At no point we we offered an apology for this, or for the state of the room. We were offered another room, which we took as it was ever so slightly less dirty (but more broken, so it was the best of a bad bunch), but were not offered a better room and offered nothing else as compensation, not even an apology. The housekeeping staff woke us up by ringing the doorbell very early, we asked them to come back later as we were checking out that morning, and they did the same thing not long after. The reception staff offered to help us book a train but then didn't, and upon asking again, they again said they would but again didn't: don't offer if you won't do it!! 5) it is a building site: the hotel is half falling down! There is rubble in piles in the corridors; the

                    Pathetic ”

                    No one should ever stay in this pathetic hotel. Right from the word go it is hopeless. Dirty lift, mismanaged lobby and reception, dirty carpet, seepage in walls, old and broken furniture’s , dirty washroom, no restaurant, spa closed, swimming pool closed Even if you are offered free stay, never ever go to this hotel.
