Excellent hotel to stay in Cancun if you don't want to stay near the beach., near Centro americana. Many Restaurants within walking distance. Well managed Hotel, friendly staff

the worst ibis hotel that i have ever stayed”
old an dirty! Bad smell in corridor and room! lack of facility in room, no chair, no glass. Very disappointed.

Small room but clean, good staff”

We arrived at the hotel at 3 a.m, the staff were there to help us with a fast check in. The hotel is in downtown, not the hotel zone. It's close to a shopping mall so every basic necessity can be found. We had a comfortable stay.

Not honest , overcharge ”
Since my day tour will finish at noon time, I let the front desk notice advance, the staff said could let me late check out without extra charge. But when I came back to check out. The front desk actually charge $250 for late check out. It's horrible. I think it gave the shame to ibis

A fine chain hotel choice in a convenient location”
location, comfort, value
For the price level of Cancun, Ibis is good value if you want to stay in the center of town and/or are going to the airport. Rooms are clean, fair-sized and offer standard "cheap business hotel" comfort. Nothing to complain about. A very convenient location for getting to the airport. ADO buses stop right outside, and various airline company shuttles have offices right at the hotel too. Right next to the Americanas mall and lots of decent dining options.

The most HORRIFIC stay ever”
First of all, this is going to be a very long review, well really more of an incident report of our horrific stay at this hotel in downtown Cancun as I will go into every detail with how the events happened during our entire stay in Cancun and how our problem was treated ghastly by front office staff and very poorly by Agoda. Our booking was for 2 nights, check in Jan. 2, check out Jan. 4 at the Ibis Cancun Centro Hotel. We had a late night flight out of Mexico City to Cancun which was supposedly to arrive in Cancun before midnight on Jan. 2. But the flight was delayed and we arrived at the hotel at 1:30AM on Jan. 3. We were already exhausted and was just in a dire need to retire into our room. We hand over our voucher to the front office staff. He let us wait as he did something with the credit card machine looking at his monitor. It was already taking so long which is not usually the case when we check in (always thru Agoda) at any hotel, so we ask if there was a problem. Then he said he could not charge the booking to the account Agoda had emailed them. So we asked, is that our problem? We have already paid and that voucher in your hand proves that we have indeed paid for the two nights. He said since he couldn't charge the amount to Agoda he needed a guarantee and needs to block a nights rate on our credit card. We were quite hesitant coz at the airport, our credit was declined when we tried to use it to book our taxi to the hotel, which was strange because we just used it to charge for dinner at the airport in Mexico City. But we relented and gave him the credit card because we were so tired to argue and we just needed to collapse into our bed. And again, the card was declined to our dismay. We explained briefly that we are residents of Thailand, and we have had some problems with our credit card being used in Mexico for some reason and we need to contact our bank about this other issue. Great budget hotel”
Comfortable, clean and friendly staff
It was our first night in Cancun and we were exhausted after a 12 hour flight so it was perfect as it was cheap, comfortable, clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The WIFI was great, the location was not ideal in the sense there was too much surrounding it as far down the strip but there is Las Americas about 5 minute walk which is a shopping centre so that was good.
