Alt var bare i 100% orden. Kan klart anbefales. Super service, hjælpsomhed og dejlige faciliteter. Lidt ærgerligt at der var ca. 12 km til byen og det blev lidt ensformigt at spise på hotellet næsten hver dag.
thats what i call a 5 star resort!”
beautiful set up, excellent deco, wonderful staffs, exquisite service, delicious gourmet food and best wine bar ever. way to go lux! there's nothing like mauritian hotel service! not for the sensitive budgets.
I really have great time there, kindly service, good taste of food, various activities, relaxing spa! I will visit here again :) ps. only one small misunderstanding, I didn't use the mini bar, but when I check out, I received the bill for that, but after I clarify, they didn't charge me any!
A beautiful hotel ”
This is a stunning contemporary hotel with a wonderful choice of restaurants. The food and service in the Creole Smoke house was absolutely amazing and provided a very romantic atmosphere under a huge banyan tree. The Turkish food in Bodrum Blue was also very nice. We really enjoyed the adult area which has a lovely, quiet pool and beach and we enjoyed talking to a member of staff called Wyland who was very kind and helpful each day. The spa was wonderful and I would highly recommend a massage treatment. We were treated so well at the Lux and it is the perfect luxury hotel. I was also very lucky that it was my birthday and they went over and above to make it very special. I highly highly recommend!
Went the extra mile!”
The food and facilities are top notch, although the fish I had at Abalone could have been better. But the magical thing about this place is the people. The staff there are genuine and always go the extra mile to make you happy. In their words, they consider it their duty to help you celebrate your life while you are with them. This emotional connection lifted the hotel above many others for us.
Lux GrandGaube is an amazing luxury hotel”
Lux GrandGaube is an amazing five star luxury hotel that offers a big range of activities, food choices and smiles. The rooms are huge, the beds amazing and the breakfast offers everyone a bite, from a proper ‘Full English’ to a detox juice with walnuts and Greek yoghurt. Everyone in the hotel goes the extra mile! We got a lot of additional attention because of our baby. It is a really nice place for small kids. Please note that in the vicinity there are not really good restaurants, there is one on a walkable distance (15 minutes), but not complete strips like you might know from Bali or Thailand. The life takes place at the resort. So either take all inclusive or prepare to dine all meals within the vicinity of the resort and make sure you are OK with paying 6 euro for a beer and 15-25 euro for a (really nice) main course if you are not on half / full board. One point for improvement: Yoga / sporting classes are very irregular. Daily would make more sense and would add a lot of fun. Yoga instructor was not that well trained.
maybe the best choice in northeast Mau”
the bedsheet in Rm 759 (or 760?) is a little bit thorny, creating a skin-needling sensation, and the bedstead squeaks a bit while you're doing 'something' in bed. Also, the drain plug of the tub is out of service. The rest is simply satisfactory except the concierge who parked my car in a careless manner. And a guy named Jaie(?)at the kitchen is very attentive. should spend more time there to enjoy boating.
Fabulous resort for young children ”
From the moment we arrived, the staff were unbelievably friendly. Our 5 year old was taken straight off & treated to a macaroon. Every morning they found him & took him off for a treat such as this. Everybody took time to get to know him & he was greeted by name wherever he went. The kids club was brilliant. The staff were incredibly hands on and really created a rapport with him. Rooms are a bit tired, but who cares when the service is so great! Setting is lovely. It's a man-made beach, but the gentle curve makes it feel very intimate & private. The sea is not quite as clear as the East coast, but it is still quite nice. Lovely views from the restaurants. Other guests were really chatty & everyone got together to play volleyball or water polo-so there was soon a real sense of friendship around the pool. It's not as modern or trendy as other Lux's - but actually the more rustic feel is preferable when you have small children. We have moved to the Lux Belle Mare for the second week & although it has been modernised & on paper "the better hotel" - it is really lacking the relaxed, friendly vibe. We are already missing everyone at Grand Gaube and are considering going back to finish the holiday! If you like a holiday where you really feel welcomed - try a Grand Gaube x
It was lovely. The only 2 things were the that the breakfasts were very disappointing, the same buffet everyday and was not fresh and the price of food and drink was astronomically expensive. Beside that it was a relaxing and great stay.
Excellent Service ”
The hotel facility is average but the service there is excellent. Employees are always nice, smile and they can remember your room number when you make any order. There are three beaches and swimming pools available, but we like only one of them. If you choose this hotel, I would recommend half board package to make your trip excellent.
Can recomend, but still a 4 star hotel”
I liked very much, but next time I will try a different hotel, just so I can compare. Aspects of the rrom needed attention, for example the door to th emini bar was clearly broken and wouldnt close. The minibar offered just slightly cold drinks, even though it look it was always working. TV with limited channels, couldnt follow the F1 race, for example. Everything else was just esplendid, really close to the beach, confortable, friendly and helpful staff, could recomend to anyone. The hotel activieties are varied and really entertaining.
the hotel is nice! the rooms are confortable but the room's design need to be updated. The spa is very nice and relaxing! 2 private beaches and 2 swimming pools. The food was good but not exceptional!
Lovely Resort - Great Service”
we came to this resort for 4 days as an extra treat after spending 10 days at the le mauricia resort in grand baie. it's hard and unfair to compare the two as the other resort was likely aimed at a different market and price bracket (lux* is 20% more expensive), so i won't go into a detailed comparison, however suffice to say that at only half a star more than the other resort, lux* was better than the other in every detail. the staff were marvelously friendly, the rooms were great and the resort grounds were beautiful. all of these were average at the other. the 4.5 stars do not do it justice (or more likely, the other resort does not deserve 4 stars). everything is just newer and fresher and nicer at the lux*. definitely worth the extra 20%. one thing to note however is that whilst with any 4.5 star resort i would expect to pay high prices for food and beverage, in this case the lux* was more like 6 star prices! it was expensive (in my opinion) even in comparison to other resort of similar quality. this may be due to the fact that there is little in competition around nearby, unlike grand baie township which has a whole restaurant area. grand gaube on the otherhand has very little. you are pretty much stuck with eating at the in-house restaurants when staying at the lux*. i would also like to say that this resort is aimed more toward the romantic couples getaway rather than the fun family vacation. there just isn't a lot to do around the resort or town apart from lay back, switch off, and soak up the sun. you may find it hard to keep the kids/teenagers entertained. but if you are happy to spend a little extra on your food and beverage, and not trying entertain a whole family, you will find the lux* to be an amazingly beautiful, quiet and relaxing resort for a romantic getaway.
Very friendly hotel with excellent facilities”
the stay at lux*grand gaube was better than i had expected it to be. upon arrival, my friends and i were greeted with warm welcome and a tour around the resort. they have facilities like library, art gallery, telephone booth (which you can use to make free international calls), cinema, etc etc. i have to specially mention the staff at the boathouse. they are so responsible and ensure that your safety is their main concern. they also try to make your experience the best one. not forgetting to mention the staff from the resort who never fail to smile and greet the guests whenever we cross paths. the rooms were good and quite spacious. i got the ocean view room but i was not really facing the ocean. the room is also very open concept, very good for couples and people on honeymoon. i went with a friend and hence there was a little inconvenience. but in all, it's an excellent resort and we have not regretted our choice, definitely a must go!
Nice beaches, humble service but expensive meal”
the first thing came into my mind is that they took a picture of me and my girlfriend and sent it to us, that's the little steps they do for making us feel comfortable; moreover, the room is quite large, so we could have some more space to relax, but the meal plan was a little bit too expensive. But overall, it is worthy.
lovely Luxury resort”
staff are friendly and helpful wifi internet is free and it's available even by the beach, you can log into fb/web while chilling by the beach comfortable rooms/ view with open concept bath room certain water sport activities are complimentary like water ski, wind surfing, paddle boat, snorkeling, it could keep you busy for 2 days! table tennis, tennis, bicycle, gyms also are available for guest the resort is located far away from the capital, at the north tip of the island
Buffet is so-so. I've seen better. Room is nice & the bathroom is wide open-open in the room. So bear that in mind. If going with friends or family is can be a minus point but in couple is great with the mini jacuzzi inside. I was welcomed by the General Manager himself & he was polite, smiling & available. 1 most important thing is to remember that the hotel name was Legends before. They had to change the hotel name & re-brand it as 1 daughter of a famous Irish family was murdered by 2 staff who were caught stealing in the room. But now the hotel is clean & I went there & felt safe. As far as possible take the bus to Port Louis & avoid cut throat prices of taxi drivers. Try to negotiate a bit. Free wi-fi but extremely slow. Beach is great but the sea is full of sea weed at the bottom.
if you want a gorgeous hotel, in a great beach and service look no further! we were pleased on every level - from the food, rooms and especially the service. the staff goes above and beyond to greet your every need, with many great activities planned such as cinema under the stars and yoga classes. the hotel is a bit older, but all is very well kept and in perfect working order. there is something about the lighting and the feel of the hotel which is amazing. we took a day trip to ile de deux cocos, which i highly recommend, and were duly pampered by the staff on location! the hotel is also a 15 minute drive from grand baie where there are many choices of restaurant, supermarkets, crafts and stores. i would definetly recommend this hotel for honeymoners and families alike. after we reported an issue we had the management was quick to resolve it and offered us a complimentary dinner on the beach that was unforgetable!
Great location and attempt to delight customer”
From the moment we stepped in we found the hotel staff fully engaged to make the visit memorable. There was a surprise bottle of wine and it was so very appreciated. Similarly the movie on the beach the secret treasure in the hotel were all designed to keep the visitors wanting for more.
Great hotel, amazing service.”
very good hotel , all staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help. good selection of water sports with knowledgeable guides. food and diving were slightly expensive. we were there for valentine's day and they went out of their way to be romantic, dropping chocolates off to the room, and then when we came back from the beachside restaurant from dinner, the large bath had been run with bubbles, candles set and rose petals scattered over it. excellent overall.
