Good location hotel in Wellington”
Stayed for 2 nights with breakfast package. Was reasonably happy with breakfast on the first day but disappointed with the breakfast on the 2nd day - no hot breakfast. Reasons being it was a public holiday and hence no chef around. Quite ridiculous as people normally go for holiday when there is a public holiday. Felt somewhat shortchanged for this booking.
Great value for money”
Hotel is nice, rooms are well designed and the location is very central to the city. Would always recommend it and stay again. Nevertheless - i had an very early flight and arrived toearly for normal check in time, i asked i i can check in earlier and i got told that it is fully booked but i can come back later and ask again. When i did 2 hours before check in time, i got told that none of the rooms were cleaned yet and not available and usually check in time is 2 PM. BY waiting another 30 min i was then asking again and i got told it is not available. After being a little annoying towards the front staff suddenly a room was available and i was able to check in right away. Why making such a hustle??? If a room is available why don't you let the guest check in earlier to have happy people staying with you????
Best value and location in Wellington CBD!!”
We loved this hotel. Everything was absolutely superb. If you can find a better value hotel in Wellington CBD we would love to know about it because we certainly can’t find anything better than this. Great location, very central to everything, great price, spotlessly clean and great staff.
Nice hotel, terrible parking ”
The staff are great, it’s very clean. The first night i parked in the basement which was incredibly tight, not suitable for large vehicles. The second night I parked in the alternative car park (Wilson parking building) my car was broken in to and my window smashed. This is not the hotels fault but put a dampener on my stay. I’ve stayed here during the week and it was fine but was actually quite noisy on the weekend. When I complained at midnight about the group of teenagers at my door laughing and taking selfies, the staff were very helpful and immediately came and asked them to move. All the staff I dealt with were very friendly and helpful.
This hotel is in a great location. There are several restaurant options on the block and we just walked everywhere we needed to go as the hotel was right on the edge of the city centre. Room was very comfortable and clean.
Great location and value in Wellington CBD”
We always stay at this hotel when we are in Wellington. It’s very central, great value with great staff. Always clean as a whistle, and car parking. Highly. Recommended.
Hotel location was perfect for this trip. I was surprised to find that the rooms did not have airconditioning. It was not such a problem at this time as it was not the peak of summer. I think it would be a bit hot if we booked in the warmer months. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food in the restaurant was pretty good - good room service. Would stay there again, but definitely not in the summer.
The plus 1) Good location - eateries, shopping and major city sights are within walking distance 2) Parking available within hotel premise or at the curb side. 3) Free in room wi fi Can be improved on: 1) Basement parking lots are small and on steep slopes. Only allows single car entry/exit at one time. 2). City parking rate. Not cheap especially if you check-in late night and check out next day. I was charged 2 days rate although I stayed less than 24 hours. 3) Walls between rooms are thin. We could here our neighbours "conversations".
All good except for the first time I used the shower ”
Great location, helpful friendly staff, under building parking very good, the only downside was the shower on my first morning. Perhaps because I got up after 10am. But the pressure was poor and the water temperature only just warm enough to stand under, consequently I had a very short shower. Both the water pressure and temperature were quite acceptable on my second morning. But I was up very early, 4.30am as I had an International flight to catch.
Great location, Good value Comfort”
Stay was great. Only there for one night but had fab sleep. Fridge was a wee bit noisy so probably would have turned that off at night if I'd stayed longer but it certainly didn't stop me from sleeping.
This hotel served it's purpose”
Check in and out was a great experience. The room was as expected and good. The larger bed has a hollow in the mattress and that made sleeping a little challenging. Replacing this mattress would solve the problem and make the whole experience more enjoyable.
Good Hotel, Would stay again”
A slight hiccup with the booking process at the Hotel from Agoda but even though the hotel was on the full side a room was found a couple of 'freebies' were given, like a free breakfast as it was not the room booked. In saying that the room was clean, tidy and comfortable and the staff could not be more apologetic. A great little hotel for a couple of nights stay either for a weekend or business trip. Would definitely stay again for location and staff. Centrally located in the CBD and easy walking distance to the quay and the waterfront. If you stay here you will not be disappointed. The only negative I could find was the lifts but it is only a minor issue.
Comfortable stay at the Abel Tasman ”
The stay was comfortable and facilities were clean and adequate for our requirements. Not the nicest of shower boxes and no extraction fan, however the water pressure was good with plenty of hot water. All in all the room was good value for money and the location was good.
Great clean modern hotel in the heart of the city”
I rate this hotel very highly. I found the staff exceptionally helpful, the rooms modern, clean and inviting. Fantastic central location right in the heart of the city, easy access to shopping, dining, night life, public transport
good big room”
This hotel is on a main road in central Wellington. the rooms are big and very clean. Check in was pleasant and very helpfull. The hotel is only two blocks from Cuba Street well known for its bucket fountain, bars, restaurants and a interesting mix of people.Nice hotel close to Tepapa and the cable car.
Great location but thin walls”
Easy check in with friendly staff both arriving and departing. Room was smallish but everything you needed was there. Walls were a bit thin as could clearly here conversation next door, etc. Good price though.
Good value, nice clean, tidy rooms”
Good value at $95 and everything was clean and tidy and much better than the other rundown accommodation we stayed in the night before up the road - for more money!. No flash pool or swanky entrance and it's obviously been around a while - the lift's are a bit clunky and slow, but the room was very clean, tidy and not old and tired. If you want to stay within a 10 minute walk to the heart of town for a reasonable price I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
My accomodation was very nice, the room was clean,”
This was the most enjoyable stay, i have stayed at the hotel over a number of years, the rooms certainly have received a new make over, fresh & clean, the staff were very professional & helpful, i look forward to my next stay.
Impressed by value”
the room was clean and quiet. we relaxed with a bottle of wine and found it convenient that they had wine glasses in the room. the front desk gave excellent recommendations for dining. they were friendly and courteous. check out and check in was easy and quick.
Leaky roof in bathroom and very noisy fridge”
Noisy fridge kept us awake the 1st night there and bathroom leaked right above toilet. Told the front desk who to their credit offered us another room. Declined initially but changed my mind on this later but when we got back this was no longer available. Service was really good just wish they kept up with maintenance on the facilities.
