Beyond Expectation (in a bad way!)”
While purchasing the room via Agoda, we put an additional request that we would be arriving late after 1am for check-in. This was due to us taking bus from Colombo to Dhambulla at 9pm. The bus journey itself took almost 5 hours. When we reached, the hotel gate was closed, and we kept on knocking. At the same time, we also called the hotel number stated in Agoda voucher, but no one picked up the call. After about 20 minutes knocking the gate, someone finally opened the gate and let us in. It was already around 2am. The hotel owner told us that there was a problem and the room we booked was not available despite we have already booked and paid for it in Agoda. He then offered us rooms in another hotel, namely Queens Inn, 1 kilometre away, which he claimed also belonged to him. He then drove us there. By the time we reached the other hotel, it was already 3am, and we were extremely exhausted. We would totally never expected to be transferred to another hotel without informing us in advance through emails or called. This made us feel that the hotel management was truly unethical.

Clean room, weak wifi, lots of mosquitos and no net”
The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and quiet and in a great location near the bus station. As our room was located next to a field there were lots of mosquitos about and no net over the bed. We were bitten several times within the first few minutes and after informing staff they came and sprayed the corners of the room with a minimal amount of insect spray, which seemed to do very little. In the end we bought out own spay and doused the room before we went out for dinner. Other than the mosquitos and nearly non existent wifi this is a cheap clean place to stay.

Great attitude staff”
Very good location (backside of the bus station - just cross the street). Helpful staff always ready to answer my questions, walked me to show the right bus. Room quite average, spacious and clean. The in-room TV plug was not compliant with the electricity socket.

Spacious and friendly owner”
The room was adequate with bright bathroom. The eating/resting area was spacious and airy. The owner was friendly and passionate about his business (building more rooms). Breakfast was pretty and delicious. Location is superb to me as its next to the bus station convenient to take bus to Sigiriya lion rock or other cities. Thanks for the hospitality.

Okay for location”
My family stayed one night at this hotel. Overall we were satisfied with our stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location was right beside the bus station and was a cheap tuk tuk ride or short walk to some good dining options. The breakfast in the morning was good and appreciated (although I would suggest to add eggs to the breakfast). The room felt clean although it seemed that some details were missed (like cobwebs, etc). The room had wi-fi access for about 1-2 hrs of our stay. The a/c was weak but adequate. The worst complaint about the room is mosquito's. I woke up at 3am with many bites and killed over a dozen mosquito's in the room. Also, as a note, the hotel is still under construction, but it seems that it has potential. I hope the new owners can work on some of the rough edges and turn this into a top notch place to stay.

Great location, not much else to offer”
I booked a room for myself and husband. Mistakently I only booked the room for one person. Upon checking out, we were advised that the rate would actually be approx since we had two people instead of one. I wouldn't have minded paying a bit more, but double? All they did was give us an extra towel, and the room and hotel were definitely not of a standard to justify such a high price. There was no top bed sheet, only a scratchy wool blanket to sleep under. The wifi didn't work. There was no hot water in the shower. It had been raining a lot and a bit of water had leaked into the room around the outside wall, making the floor wet and the room very damp. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff upon our arrival at 10pm and given fresh juice which was nice, and the location of the hotel (right next to the bus stand and a very short walk to the main street) was fantastic. The room and bathroom were also relatively clean (clean to a standard I would be happy with if paying but not clean enough to justify charging). The other hotels we paid that much for were really fantastic! Breakfast and dinner were average.
