If it were not for 43 degree temerature, it would have been a perfect stay.”
The day we checked in, the temperature in Hanoi was 43 degrees and the next day 45 degrees. And our twin room happened to be in the top floor that made it take 5 hours to cool down after turning on the air-conditioner. Friendly staff, clean room and facilities. If it were not for the hot temperature, it would have been a wonderful stay. Nothing else to complain about.

You don't need this”
I read the reviews before I booked about the male owner being a bit odd. And whether I was already prepared or really true, the guy annoyed me from the start: telling me not to put the bag I'd been lugging on a chair set next to the counter, the only obvious place to put it other than a suspect floor, explaining the cost. I'm thinking you've obviously had this issue with other customers why not put something like a table here. And so the exchange went on almost every trivial matter, having their own particular way of doing things. He even followed me to the room pointing out every infraction and amenity. He seemed particularly proud to offer a bar of soap free. I finally got tired of hearing it and literally pushed him out of my room and proceed to put my bad on the bed he warned me against doing. Look the price is okay for the area but really i would pay a few more dollars and avoid this placeor just be prepared to shut the guy up immediately.

Our experience in this "family hotel" is more like staying in a hostel. Overall we don't recommend it due to poor service. The location is good, and the room is ok as the king size bed is good (but the bathroom has uncomfortable smell once you turn on bathroom air exhausted, we book 2 rooms and it happened in both case). You can get limited help aside from the room as 1) the breakfast served on request basis, i.e., You need to spend at least 15-20 minutes after they show up in canteen. If you book a day trip with traveling agency and need to leave in early morning, this will cause some inconvenience to you, 2) the hotel serves unsufficient shampoo/bodywash (they serve in small pack) as they claim short of supply but it didn't fix in the 2nd/3rd day and the owner didn't really care, 3) we faced some trouble in connecting to travel agency on our day trip pick-up, the hotel refused to let us borrow their phone to call local travel agency even we said we will pay.

very bad, dont go, he took 10 usd for nothing”
am solo traveller (Female, Arab) i went there and once he knew that i work in good job he didn't help at all in finding tour group to go to Halong bay, he only kept mentioning the private car rent. at last i agreed as i didn't have time, it was for 85 US dollars, i asked him if i have to pay and he said no in the morning, then i went out of the hotel and found a tour group for 20 US dollars, so i came back to hotel and informed him, he said OK. i went out for dinner again and once i got back he told me i have to pay 15 US dollars for cancellation, from what he said it didnt make sense at all, and he was saying 15 US dollars is small amount, why i wont pay. i had to pay 10 dollars after big fight as i was alone and got scared of him opening my room at night or anything like that. i told him i will give him 10 dollars but will write it on the internet. i felt so angry that he just abused me!!!!!! dont book with him

Place was conviently located and clean. Room had no window and the rules on how to use the room were a little intense. The host was very friendly and interested until he realized we weren't booking a tour through him, not so friendly after that. Booking through him may totally be fine, however was a little too pushy as soon as we arrived....

The staff are friendly but they can't speak English and water bottle is not complimentary. ”
The hotel's cleanliness is nice but the rooms are quite small. And the guests won't have privacy very much because the glass doors can't cover completely. The staff are friendly and nice.

Great hotel in an excellent location. ”
Everything was great in this hotel. The owner, Sharon, and his wife are excellent. The place is spotless. The location is perfect in the heart of the old quarter. The breakfast is limited, but if you order the Vietnamese dish it is delicious. I recommend the deluxe room as it is miles better than the standard one.

Family run hotel”
The owner is the manager. He tried to help last minute booking for us which is good. The rooms are clean too. But the owner is quite obsessive about his properties and give warning us several times how to manner in his hotel. This is annoying for us . Breakfast is small and also not very good compared to others. The hotel should have more professional staffs to serve customers properly.

Pleasant stay”
The hotel staffs were friendly and warm, gave off a very good impression on the hotel itself. There were taxi service, which the driver was very nice and a careful driver too. As for location, there were night market down the hotel at night.. A lot of things to see nearby. Definitely worth the money.

Exceptional Stay at Milton Boutique Hotel”
A massive thank you to Sharon and his family at Milton Boutique Hotel. They made us feel comfortable in a completely different country and went above and beyond than just providing us a clean and tidy room to stay at. Sharon organised tours for us which were significantly cheaper than booking them by yourself and the quality of the tours were above expectations. Even after our stay at Milton finished, Sharon allowed us to leave our bags with them and this was for longer than 3 days. When we needed a room to rest after returning at 5am in the morning after our Sapa trip, sharon was also happy to assist despite the short notice. Everything about the stay at Milton was perfect and my partner and i wouldnt hesitate to stay there again. Thanks heaps Sharon and family!
