Just a few steps away from the Salamanca Market Clean room. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. Wished we chose the 3 bedroom. We had 4 adults and 2 kids. Toilet was upstairs, a little inconvenient. Simple kitchenette. We didn't do any cooking though Laundry and dryer service is free but it's in the second floor and you can only use it till 9pm (because of the noise disturbing the guests i think) Staff were friendly The pool was in door and warm and it has a jaccuzzi but we did not use the pool The best thing about this hotel is the location!
Perfect location, comfy bed”
we stayed at the two bedroom apartment. the two level apartment has full kitchen. Main bedroom and bathroom are on the upper floor and downstairs is the twin bedroom , living room , balcony and kitchen. Perfect location to Salamanca market, it is just right around the corner. walking distance to the wharf. You can visit , Battery Point, the peaceful and historic neighborhood for food just behind the hotel. Sandy bay is just around 10 minutes drive , there are two supermarket coles express and woolworth.
Large, comfortable Room, In a great location.”
I found my stay comfortable and the room was great. The only surprise was a very small shower. The person at the desk didn't really want to be there, however the location makes up for the cold welcome.
Right above where the Salamanca markets are and just near Salamanca square. The location is ace. A nice clean room and friendly staff. I didn't eat at the restaurant but the menu looked great. You can pretty much walk anywhere from this location. We stayed in a 2 bedroom family room. The only ting we didn't love is that the top room was a little sparse and there were a few basic things missing, like bins in the bedroom, tissues and robes.
Excellent location, clean. Staff were friendly. Will definitely be staying again next time we are in Hobart.
Oh WELL ! What a shame”
Amidst good reviews and having had good previous experiences we hit a bad day. Our room was great and overall the hotel remains in the top end of Hobart accomodation. Our experience was spoilt due to management not putting enough staff on in the breakfast room. Double time obviously an issue. This is the result of being MEAN. It was mothers Day !! We booked the Winter Special, includes complimentary breakfast. Arrived at the breakfast room at 9.15. Buffet breakfast was set out but almost empty. 30 + patrons awaited service by one front of house for hot breakfast orders. We learnt only one cook was rostered on !! We asked politely for service to the overworked floor staff to be told there was an hours wait for hot breakfast !!! Check out is in 45 minutes . The waiter said there were external bookings for Mothers Days and he did not know why there were no staff allocated. Other hotel guests were seen leaving without any service or breakfast. We sought redress at reception to be told it is Sunday and staff are not rostered on !!! This is an objective review and we find it hard to believe standards could slip so far. Please review your human resources and return to higher standards. AND why offer services that cannot be provided. We where inHobart for a funeral and had time commitments. We were very disappointed that our expectations were not met. Reception, front of house server and chef did not handle well the questions we asked regarding the way the breakfast worked. So disappointing.
Great location, friendly staff but very small and uncomfortable beds!”
The location is fantastic right next to the Saturday Salamanca market and restaurants etc, the staff were all super friendly and helpful, the room was spacious clean and nicely designed, but the beds were awful!!! The main double bed was only a small double, not the usual king / queen size you would expect in a hotel. Not sure why as the room was plenty big enough to have a proper sized bed. We're pretty small, but the bed was way too small for us to sleep with our 20 month old son between us. The mattress was very soft and so we spent the whole night trying not to roll off the edge. The worst night's sleep of the trip, which is saying something since the rest of the time we slept in the fold-out bed of a motor-home! We both woke up with back ache the next day, so the second night I slept in the other room in a single bed whilst wife and baby just about fitted into the 'double'. That mattress was also very soft, but at least I didn't spend the whole night trying not to fall out. Everything else was great, and the hotel is 100% recommended for location and service. But why such small and uncomfortable beds????
Excellent location and large comfortable room”
Salamanca Inn was a bit of a surprise it, was in an excellent location, quiet with large bed and a seating area. The only downside was the size of the bath/Shower, quite small and cramped, overall excellent though and highly recommended.
Great location in Hobart”
Salamanca Inn Hotel was located just around the corner from Salamanca place where many restaurants were located and only a short walking distance to the wharf area and to the city shopping. Our room had a king size bed which was very comfortable and a huge bathroom with a double shower. It also had a kitchenette which we did not use. Can highly recommend this hotel.
Weekend Getaway in Hobart”
We have only been home a day and have recommended this hotel to our neighbours who will be in Hobart in 2 weeks and a friend from work who will be there next week. Hopefully they will stay here, they won't be disappointed. I think that explains how our stay at the Salamanca Inn Hotel was for us. The location for the Salamanca markets can't be beaten and the free car park was a bonus for us. We loved it and would certainly stay again.
Fantastic location and helpful staff”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Salamanca Inn because the room was spacious with a couch and the bathroom was huge. It was great not to feel cramped. We had a corner room on the second floor and we found it fairly quiet considering we were close to bars and restaurants. This was great just being able to wander down to a area with a number of nice bars and restaurants plus the market within a minutes walk. The staff went out of their way to give extra sightseeing information not just giving you a brochure but also some sightseeing ideas. We would definitely stay again when next in Hobart.
Expensive but efficient and well-located”
Even by Hobart standards this hotel is relatively expensive yet they still charge for services such as internet, but apart from the expense this is a very good hotel, well-located, efficiently-run, clean and comfortable. The room was spacious with a decent kitchen. The indoor pool is free of charge to guests (but you have to pay for the gym). Check-in and check-out were very quick and staff were informed and helpful.
Family friendly and comfortable”
We had all our family meet us in Hobart for our 50th wedding anniversary so our room was a great place to catch up as everyone was staying in different places ! It was so close to the market which we all attended and so close to drop off our goodies !! Central to lots of historic buildings and sightseeing !
Most enjoyable, relaxing, great central location”
The location was perfect, the hotel comfortable and the option to self cater a bonus. The Inn was close to ferries and public transport - all within a 2 minute walk.Great access to places of interest. The local restaurants were excellent as were the bars. The room was comfortable and spacious enough for two people. Free access to the laundry was also a bonus. Internet access is pricey considering in most hotels these days it is free.We didn't utilise the Inn's restaurant facilities for any meals as there was so much within walking distance of the hotel. The room was serviced daily- apart from that we really didn't have any interaction with staff.
Don't bother looking anywhere else, this hotel has it all. In house parking, heated pool, friendly and helpful staff. Close to restaurants and bars(50m).10 minute walk to Hobart harbour and not to mention 50m to Salamanca markets (Saturday). Very happy and would definitely stay he again.
very good hotel in a great location.”
Very well appointed and comfortable hotel. Rooms were large and all kitchen appliances etc were included. Short walk to many local sights and museums. Food rated 3 below because not dining facilities not used.
Great location with friendly service”
great location with easy access to shops, resturants and hobart water front. friendly customer services and the room is clean and comfy; with the family suite, it does provide homey feeling. we didn't get to try the resturant in the hotel, just see it from the menu it seems to be pricy... a few good quality rest just around the corner, just ask the friendly staff for recommendations.
Great location and service with a smile”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Salamanca Inn. We were always greeted with a smile and friendly, helpful staff. Great location, walking distance to local restuarants, bars, the wharf, Hobart CBD and of course the Salamanca market. We didn't visit the restaurant at the hotel so we can't comment on the food. We were happy our room had a kitchen and there was always fresh milk supplied on a daily basis. We will definitely be going back and we can't wait!
the style of the rooms is a little bit a reminescence of the eighties, but the quality of everything is very high. huge room, great kitchen, underfloor heating ad comfy couches. plus the included parking. the hotel was very quiet, and the staff nice and helpful.
lovely hotel, excellent staff at front desk”
the location was great, the staff at the desk great. were disappointed the gym was closed. the restaurant was appalling.we looked forward to going there as had great photos in the lifts.our waitress was rude and forgot to bring all our drinks. the food was awful. the seafood was so overcooked and dry we could not eat it. at the end of the day, we were happy with the hotel but recommend not to use the restaurant
