Great location”

The hotel is located right behind Starbucks Tha Pae Gate. Very convenient location to walk around and explore the old Chiang Mai town. The room I stayed in was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I do recommend this small lovely hotel.

relaxing minimal style hotel”

This is my first time in Thapae Happy House. The location is very nice. It's just 1 mins walk to Tha Pae Gate. The staff is very helpful. I traveled with elderlies then the hotel give us room on the second floor which very convinence for us. They have a la carte breakfast which very reasonable for the money that we spent.

Good, but not like the pictures”

So the pictures on the website are really high quality and make the rooms look better than they really are. The location is good for walking to stuff, really perfect, BUT if you drive here, they don't have any parking and it's hard to find on the street. I'd talk to them on the phone before booking. Staff is great. Room is clean and has a nice modern appearance. I'd stay here again if I can park my car.

Fantastic acoomodation”

Advantages: 1. Very near to Thapae Gate (3 minutes walking) and Sunday Night Market which is held every Sunday at Rachadamnoen Road. 2. Room size is acceptable, clean and free breakfast daily (Choose from 5 menus). Wifi signal is very strong. Friendly staffs. 3. Very near to McDonald's, Starbucks, Burger King, restaurants, bars and etc. 4. Walk-able distance to all temples such as Wat Chedi Luang Worawihan, Phra Singh Temple and also Warorot Market, Weekday Night Market. Disadvantages: 1. Air ventilation in the toilet is not good, I hope they will install an exhaust fan in the toilet in the future. 2. No lifts. You might need to reconsider if you have big luggage. Conclusion: 1. Value for money. 2. I will definitely come back to Thapae Happy House if I am visiting Chiang Mai.

Excellent Location, Super Accommodating Staff”

I truly enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is located a very short walk away from Thapae Gate- the practical center of everything good (for tourists) in Chiang Mai. It is tucked in a quiet alley, but markets, good restaurants and major tourist spots are very nearby. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Even though they practically serve the same breakfast food as the other hotels, I could see they're really focused on customer satisfaction (I appreciate the food presentation and the sprinkle oregano on my omelet). The room has a tasteful, modern interior - it was cozy at night and in day time i appreciated the glass wall and the mini-veranda for extra sunshine.

Cute but really small”

I really loved the staff. Spoke well enough English to communicate with them. Downfall was that the room was super tiny. I almost had nowhere to put my luggage. There is no elevator. Good thing was that places were walking distance. If you don’t mind the small space this would work.

Great little spot across from Thapaw Gate”

We stayed here a few times. Excellent location close to markets and old city. A small hotel but very clean. Staff very helpful,, carried our very heavy bags up 2 flights. We’re able to leave bags while we went on excursion. Simple breakfast provided. Tours can be arranged from front desk.. people we knew that went were very happy. We were so impressed that the staff called our next destination in Chom Thong to make sure we arrived as it was an hour away and at night. Very helpful kind and caring staff. Felt very safe. Will return and stay here again

Good place with fine location”

It’s in front of gecko bookshop. Good location and not noisy in the night time. My room was a bit small but good for just one person. Staffs are good in english and kind. I like the cafe and the smoothie is reasonable with delicate taste.

Fantastisk”

We had difficulty finding the hotel; neither our taxi from the airport nor people on the street could help us. Once someone googled it, we were pleased with all aspects of the hotel itself. The staff were very helpful, they called for taxis and even prepared a special breakfast for an early morning departure; our room was a clean, peaceful retreat; and best of all, the breakfast selections were excellent and were served in a charming garden patio.

Great location but no lift ”

No lift and we’re stay at 4th floor. Near to Thapae Gate, Starbucks, McDonald and some temples. Comfortable bed, very small room. But the toilet quite smelly, I called the reception and complained that the urine was very heavy. They arranged the cleaner to wipe the floor, but the smell was the same. After that I cleaned the floor by myself, and then there was no taste anymore.

Noise kills you..”

Best of Thapae Happy House: the location. Where major transportation in chiang mai is songthaew, it was really convinent for us to go anywhere and get back. hostel is neat and Modern style, Hot water and amenity was great. The worst part of this hostel is the noise from hostel itself. Noise from outside did not bother me at all. I personally want to tell the owner to stay one day in 2nd floor where we stayed, and experience the stress we went through every night. Noise from reception can be heard, the stairs with people carelessly dragging their suitcase, and people running up and down in stairs making a massive noise any time of the night regardless it is 3am or 5am. I almost wanted to give up the payment and transfer to other place to stay due to cetain nationality group. Afterall, we managed to sleep somehow when we got extremely tired after everyday tour but I will recomand this place.

Wonderful location to walk around”

As anyone can notice that its actually located outside Thapae gate. Its located near Starbuck, 7-eleven, MacDonal, so you food and drink are the least to worried. Staff and clealiness for me is consider good, as they will clean the place nicely and speak English. Due to that its actually an small apartment, rooms are actually quite small . The toilet does not have ventilation and hence there will be some odor from the sink or pipe. Although there is a window but its a seal window. for me its just to let the sunlight shine in. The shower area its too small even for asian people for me. My room is a superior room, 2nd floor. It does not have lift so you will need to carry your bag and go up to your floor. Most of the morning crew are female, midnight will be male, so you can save your time ask them help you carry your belonging. *If you stay at the top floor, good luck have fun. They does not have any electrical kettle, although there is cup and also tea, you will need to walk down to the commend area to get your own hot water. Shower heater is not in a great condition, you can turn on to the maximum and minimize the water distribution only you are able to enjoy a hot shower.

good location”

location is good. it's easy to tell tuktuk drivers where you are going even you don't speak Thai: Thapae Gate. Staffs are really nice. But it's a little bit noisy at night: there are motorbikes and cars passing by all through the night. And breakfast is....ummm, you'd better go out for breakfast.

Great location, nice tidy room with reasonable price.”

My room has a balcony , it's a little bit dirty but can improve. Only one thing I don't like is the air-con is right next to my bed, the wind just kept blowing to my face all night long , I have to hang a towel to block the wind at the end. So I hope Hapoy house can pay attention about this. After all, I will still recommend my friends to stay there, and I will definitely go again.

Worth for money”

Very clean and tidy room. The room was more than I expected to be. The staff very friendly and helpful including very attention in details. Tasty breakfast but limited, however, it was enough to fill you up in the morning. I would recommend this place for anyone who is looking for the place that is located close to the Thapae Gate for Sunday market (Walking Street). Also, it was very easy to access all tourist sightseeing from here. Thank you for your superb and excellent services

Great Location and friendly staff”

Convenient-- located In a quiet valley right near Tha Pae Gate, 10 min walk to Waroro Market. Room isn't quite spacious but very tidy and facilitate everything you need. Friendly staff! Thank you Sarah for the useful info in Pai. :)
