Definitely did not find this place good value for money. Bed was not nice, being woken up at 7am from a gym class on the tennis courts sucked. Breakfast was below average. Resort was below average. Would't stay again.
Awesome resort, friendly staff, will definitely stay here again!
Nice for what it is..”
Front Desk staff, not very friendly the European guy looked like he didn’t want to be there (late check in). Security let my wife carry her bags up 2 flights of stairs. Restaurant is very pricey compared to the other resorts that rate a lot higher than this one.
Great Place to Stay”
Second trip to Rarotonga but only spent a couple of nights at Edgewater. Fantastic place to stay. We had terrible weather but there was still plenty of entertainment and things to do. Great loction, great snorkelling, great staff, all in all would definitely stay again.
Fantastic staff, accommodation, facility. Will definitely return :)”
Staff were so helpful, from domestic through to restaurant, through to security. Everybody was approachable and helped when and where they could. Amazing xx
Perfect family resort”
It’s a bit run down and the service can be here and there. But it was a fantastic holiday and great atmosphere. Awesome for children.
Great kids club and very friendly staff.
We stayed in a garden superior room but this review applies to both standard and superior rooms as very close to each other. Close to resort facilities
While the location in terms of access to the beach was perfect, the location in terms of being close to the town centre is a car drive away. For the amount of money I paid for this room, I was very disappointed. The room had a very bad smell like it had not been used for some time. I could not leave the sliding doors open in case the chickens came inside. There were cobwebs in corners of the sliding door and broken glass on the floor in the bathroom that was never cleaned. The cleaners only changed towels & made beds that were used. The continental breakfast is the same everyday, bread and pawpaw becomes boring after the third day. Most staff were friendly enough, it was easy to check in and out and the late check out was worthwhile asking for. A big thumbs up to Eleanor (waitress) she was wonderful as well as some of the security staff. Internet was advertised for free but not provided, this is very disappointing.
Family Fun in the south pacific”
Greatest waterslide according to our 7 year old. staff were friendly and helpful. Awesome place for a family holiday. Snorkling was the best.
Value for money”
A simple and family friendly kind of resort. Only the one small pool for a very large resort but, there is always the beach if that suits. I'm sure it would suit for families looking to save some money - there appeared to be plenty of activities and a kids club, not suitable for a couples holiday though. We did arrive late at night and the staff were great. There wasn't any water in the rooms though, thus requiring a trek back to reception to purchase as the water isn't recommended for drinking from the taps. Close to the airport and main town which is handy.
Although on arrival i was not given what i had booked for , within minutes we were shifted to a 3 bdrm villa , staff were amazing always making sure you were alright and the nature of the resort was great 😁 , i will most definately go back !!
Unfriendly, expensive, horrible hotel. ”
Trick advertising NO WIFI, NO WATER In ROOMS staff were unfriendly , my opinion not for Australians, geared only for NZ people. Unhelpful staff, rude, intimidating and completely nothing to do. Everything is 300% times more expensive and your trapped there Warning !!
good stopover to just relax”
Unfortunately there was no notice of pool being out of action for week preceding our stay and still delayed so not finished for rest of week till we left Having transport transfer to inferior sister resort was inconvenience being returned by four and wait for being available Ended up using local bus and having meals mainly at other resorts to use pool facilities
I will only book at 'The Edgewater Resort and Spa' if it were a deal. Pros and Tips: * Best for large groups * Book ground level floors if you prefer not to walk up stairs (beach front rooms still have a great view) * Apartment rooms are fully equipped (full oven and fridge) and is central to all areas of the complex, but don’t have the sea views * Make use of the free activities on site there is always a program up so check it out daily * Make the most of happy hour (fish bowls cocktails for $40 and the beer on tap for $50) * Also make use of the games room and tennis court. * Scooters do make a difference when travelling around. Cons * Huge complex, walking distance to main areas can be a bit of stretch. Villas are the furthest away from reception, pool and bar area. * Very small pool to cater to such a large complex of people if there are a few bookings. * Roads to villa are very bumpy (a lot of potholes) and floods really badly. * Beachfront rooms don’t have a microwave
Great for families”
The rooms are starting to look like they need updating, otherwise great for young families, close to airport, good facilities.
If you love travelling with your family , then this is the place for you. Everything at your finger tips, kids pool, beach, restaurant, sightseeing . We had the breakfast included in our package which was Continental breakfast, We hire a motorbike to get around Rarotonga. You have to go into town to the Police station and sit a theory and a practical for $90.00 so try get in early, takes about 2 hours all up. you have to go to motorcycle shop to select a bike, we went to the Polynesian next to cop station, you can return your bike at the hotel as they are there as well. 5 to 7 days is enough to see everything in Rarotonga. go to the Koka boat cruises, awesome hospitality, entertainment and worth the money.
Great location and activities”
Nice breakfast, beautiful beach location and plenty of activities
Amazing place, amazing people! We will be back.”
