The Grand Melanesian Hotel
Booked accommodation the day I was traveling to Nadi, once confirmed I called receptions and they were very accommodating with my queries. Great option if you have a large family and traveling on a budget, but also great for that overnight stop over before proceeding to the airport which is what suited us.
Staff shows first room and found insects and then second room same as found more insects and then 3 rd room still found insects very poor quality room according to I pay
Good for short stopover.
I expected something nice but bathroom very small , very dirty, didn’t have towels, need to sign fir a towel and return, 2 star
No bath or face towels ”
Nice only no towels I had to use bed sheet dry up after shower
Entry was discussing, staffs were trying their best,”
Very unprofessional and reception was not welcoming at all
very untidy and no towels provided..had to ask and only received 1 for 3 people to use”
need lots of improvement...
Just fine for a stop-over sleep”
This hotel was on the very busy main road and our room overlooked the street so we heard all of the cars honking and buses passing by. Other than that, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, there was air conditioning in our room and a flat screen tv. The hotel offers meals so we ate breakfast for a decent price. The pool was clean and we enjoyed swimming in it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This is a three-star type of hotel so for the money, we were satisfied. A Westpac ATM was right around the corner as were grocery and take-away food options. There's a local beach about 2 miles away that is worth the taxi ride. It cost us $9 taxi fare. The hotel is not close enough to the beach to walk but only took about five minutes ride to get there.
cockroaches in kitchen. hot water system faulty . too noisy.
The room we overnighted in was very good. Large, beds good. Rubbish bin had not been emptied from previous occupants. Location was good. Staff friendly but very slow and lethargic. Meals very slow to be served. 2.5 out of 5
Worst experience ”
Nothing more you should know what service a tourist needs
Good location ”
Excellent for family stay
Roaches in toiler. Bowl and hiding on cupboards”
Very dated no water in pool , post cyclone probably consider ourselves lucky
Convenient and economical”
Cockroaches crawled over my head as I slept. I had to sleep with the light on. I presume owners on the reception desk were rude and unhelpful. I would not recommend this hotel, which is a pity as the Fijians who worked there were very helpful and courteous.
You can do much better than this hotel.”
Three stories walk up, not covered so you got drenched walking up and down the stair with your suitcases. Room was very old, toilet dripped all night. Breakfast was awful (cold baked beans with only one side of the bread toasted anyone???) No foyer, nowhere to sit. Very old 2 star hotel at best.
WE KEEP COMING BACK, VERY CENTRAL AND GOOD VALUE”
WE HAVE BEEN STAYING 3 TIMES NOW AND WE WILL BE BACK.VERY FRIENDLY STAFF, GREAT SPACE AND BEDS IN THE ROOMS, POOL AND RESTAURANT, BUSSTOP AT THE ENTRANCE.GOOD VALUE AND CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT FOR ARRIVING IN AND DEPARTING FROM NADI.
stayed with family to relaxed and going from there next destination to meet friends and family.stayed in 2nd floor i bit hard with young kids but manged.
close to the airport”
This hotel is budget, though the price is more 3 or 4 star for Fiji. It's 5 minutes drive to the airport but on a major road so is quite noisy through the night. The water was cut off right before I had to go to the airport. Staff at the front desk offer the bare minimum in service. Other hotel staff (such as maids and the security worker) were just lovely.
It was fine.”
I was in Nadi to drop a friend off at the airport. Since her flight was early and we're based in Suva, it made sense to spend the night there. Overall, the experience was fine. There was plenty of room for the four of us, air conditioning, and other basic amenities. And for the price, everything was adequate. We literally just needed a place to put our stuff down, a shower, and a bed to sleep in. It was nice to have a hot shower for the first time in 3 months, but the water pressure was a little wonky. The beds weren't great, but not terrible. The location was probably the best part, right between the airport and town. Like I said, the experience was fine. Nothing horrendous, but nothing to excite me either. It met expectations for a budget hotel (although I was hoping for a more complimentary toiletries, like shampoo), but if in Nadi again, I probably will choose a different place to stay.
