Daan District hotels & places to stay

i have stayed in this hotel more than 20 times and always think it has one of the best locations. just 1 min walk away from suen yat san train station, which is one stop away from cityhall (where 101 and all the new malls are) and one stop away from "eastern district" with sogo and all the boutique shops and cafes (and of coz luxy). the area by the hotel is great too with lots of good restaurant. my fav resto kiki and ching zhang chinese beef eatery are steps away from the hotel. it's not the cheapest hotel you can find in taipei, but rooms are spacious with big bathrooms. breakfast is awesome (although in taipei you may want to save the stomach from eating too much). it recently installed wifi in the room as well (big plus!!) since they only used to have wifi in the lobby and cable in the room. this adds more convenience for guests definitely!! service is usually pretty good @ the hotel too even though they change their staff pretty frequently. i have to say tho after these few years the hotel has become slightly older. it was great and new when i first stayed there, and now i can't say that it's that new anymore. but everything else is great. once again this is a hotel that's on a higher price range in tw's standards but offers great location and spacious room.

The hotel is centrally located with just a few steps from Daan District MRTStation. The hotel staff allowed us to check-in early. Check-in was swift. Staff were efficient , answered questions clearly, and very accommodating, We were three senior citizens traveling and booked one triple deluxe room. Size was just right for us. Great ambiance around the hotel. Hailing taxi was not a problem. I will surely recommend this hotel to my relatives and friends.

This hotel has it all, best value for money which also included breakfast for 2, location well it is an upscale district, daan disctrict which has 7/11, pharmacy, malls zara or watson just near by, mrt is just 5 mins away. the room is well maintained the bedding is soft, i could sleep all day. the rest room is small same goes with the room but very clean looks new. The staff is very friendly willing to help always. direction and places to go. english needs a little improvement. as for facility this is not the hotel with pool or gym. over all the stay was enjoyable very safe.

With the price that we paid, the standard of this hotel has totally exceeded our expectation. The hotel is located near Daan station, less than 5 mins walk and its very new and clean. The staffs are very friendly and helpful and offered very personalized service. They even escorted us to the lift and brought us up to our room, which I do not see it happen in some 5 stars hotels. There is a coffee machine and some biscuits offered in the lobby area, which is a plus point too. The only thing I don't like about this hotel would be the spa. It is located on the top floor. The lift will only send you to the 12th floor and you have to take the staircase to 13th floor to access the spa area. We went to check out the place once. It is very quiet with no one around. Unlike other hotel where there are two spa for both men and women, this hotel has only one which is only available for certain gender at different timing. Therefore for couple, if one is enjoying the spa, the other has got to stay in the room waiting. Nonetheless, I would still come back to this hotel if I ever visit Taipei again.

Howard Plaza Hotel is situated in the busy Eastern district of Taipei. One can travel easily to the commercial and shopping districts of Taipei like 101. It is well connected to all forms of transportation - a bus stop nearby which has bus service bringing you to Taoyuan airport, and near Zhongxiao-Fuxing and Daan MRT stations for travelling the rest of Taipei. The room is comfortable and clean and the receptionists are warm and friendly.

We stayed at Royal Nikko, W Hotel and the Shang-La on this trip and by far the Shangri-La was a stand-out. Just out of the city centre in a less noisy location but close enough to town when you need to go. The staff are very professional and focused on the guests. The VIP Lounge was very comfortable and the food great, the pool is on the top of the building with very nice views. The gym is large and full of quality equipment. We upgraded our room which was a smart decision, firstly because the lower price rooms were small with no view (be warned) but also because for the extra money we got a large room with great views and very nice amenities. More focused on business people than leisure but that suited us fine as the service levels and facilities were some of the best we have experienced.

Location is good just couple of minutes walk from Daan exit 6. Hotel just standing next to the running park, so every morning you will see the green and people is doing exercise. Very close to restaurant for beef noodles or western food, and walking distance to Eslite Bookstore. Breakfast is just fine, but it is included in the hotel fee, so if you are not a early person, you can find lots of nice cafe around the area. Since they upgraded my room to a bigger one with balcony on 2nd level, 2 single bed with lots of space to walk around in the room in circle, as bathroom is at the back of our sleeping area. bed is very comfortable, no carpet which is I like, bathroom is very big with bathtub.

A small but cozy place. It is bright, new and clean with high tech toilet and switches. Mini bar in the room is complimentary. It consist of some non alcoholic drinks and snacks which they replenish everyday if you ask for room cleaning. Self service Chinese tea leaves and Illy coffee are provided. Rooms are suitable for 2 adults and a child or 3 adults. Their staffs are very helpful and polite. As I could only speak and read a bit of Mandarin. The hotel is situated in a very convenient place at Daan district. There's a 7 eleven convenient store on the left side of the hotel. 3 mins walk down the road opposite the hotel there are 2 tea shops selling bubble tea and a Mos burger fastfood store. Another 2 mins walk, across a main street, there are food stalls by the road at night. A few restaurants within the vicinity. Close to 2 Mrt stations. Easy to reach by bus. Their ala carte breakfast was delicious besides a small spread at the buffet table. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Good location, close to the major shopping mall SOGO included the underground shopping area, we prefer this Daan district than the ximending area. The hotel is located on the 14th floor in the building. We were served by 2 friendly and helpful receptionist Wendy & Vivi. The hotel room is clean, cosy, spacious, good size of bathroom as well. Also, it has the heated toilet seat. Breakfast was given with limited choice and not nice at all. Thank you for your little surprise for us on our arrival. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely choose this hotel for our next holidays in Taipei.

10 minute easy walking distance from Daan park Metro station. Super fast wifi and very friendly staff (don’t speak good English though). Clean and very comfortable room and bed. Also we were warmly welcomed when we arrived at 12am. Convenient store right in front of hotel!! We picked this hotel as I want to enjoy a good gym. However, gym was very poor. Only 1 treadmill was almost broken. If you are a everyday must-gym person, this hotel will annoy you!

We loved this hotel! Very clean, very comfortable, and the free tea is excellent! Breakfast is limited but delicious! If you want more options, there's a Wellcome supermarket right beside the hotel. Location-wise, it's a bit of a walk from either the Guting or Dongmen stations, but we enjoyed heading to the latter more. We discovered a ton of quaint coffee shops, stores, and restos along the side streets. I'd say this hotel is perfect for those who want to get away from the sugar rush of Ximending, and just enjoy the lazy Sunday morning vibe of Daan District.

Did not expect that the hotel being a brand new (as of June 2013) and many local friends were shocked that we stayed at that building due to heavy red light activities. However, it was a very good experience due to new premise (staff are exceptionally attentive when they are still fresh), centrally located in the district, right at the exit you find public transport for cabs, buses and MRT. As to the red light activities around the place, it is there but it doesn't disturb the hotel at all. And we find that being part of a vibrant city.

kdm hotel is located in daan district where is close to shopping area, department stores, cinema, night markets, restaurants and bars about 10 - 15 mins by walk. airport shuttle bus stop is opposite to the hotel. zhongxiao xinsheng mrt station just right next to it. perfect location!! the staffs of kdm hotel are very nice, friendly and helpful who make me feel like home. the room is comfortable and the price is very reasonable!

The 1st time I went to Taipei was August of 2015 and stayed at this hotel with my friend, we arrived almost 1am and very happy to note the 7 11 located at the ground level of the hotel, where we can buy food. I find the location very convenient as it is beside the daan park station exit/entrance. we can shop and go back to the hotel for rest/short nap in the afternoon and go out again well rested and energized for the night market. I went back again last June 24 of this year, and stayed here at Dandy Daan again, this time booking 3 rooms. I am happy to note that the place was well maintained , and the family that came with me were also very satisfied particularly with its location, there is a pharmacy nearby, and Din Tai Fung was just a walking distance, Breakfast selection need to be improved. I will definitely come back and stay at Dandy Daan again

Lovely little hotel in the heart of Taipei. Although not in the heart of the action like Ximeng, Daan is a nice place to be. Located about 30 mins walk to the 101 tower, the street has some good restaurants, all night convenience stores, cheap massage shops and links to MTR buses and rail nearby. The room was spacious, clean and had a great bathroom with windows overlooking 101 tower. Breakfast was also decent with all the usual eggs, toast and some good Chinese food. I would definitely stay here again. The only thing that would make it better is if the hotel had some kind of portable wifi router rental service for guests, many hotels offer this for free in Hong Kong. Other than that, top marks.

Great stay in a new three month old hotel. Staff were friendly, helpful and always had a smile for you. Well appointed, quiet rooms (on 9th and 10th floor). Cleanliness of rooms was above average. Nice touch - they had a happy hour every day, with free snacks and drinks from 5-7pm for guests. There were always cabs available. Else a 10 mins walk to the Daan MRT station. Or better still, take the frequent buses from the nearby bus stops.

I went to check in earlier than they thought but they allowed me to leave my luggage there and it was moved right to my room when the room was ready, unlike other 3 stars hotels... However, the best part I like is toilet and how they manage the light in the room which was nicer than I expected. I also like the dark theme of this hotel with all the art pieces throughout the area of the hotel. Another best part for me is the dining room on the 5th floor. So stunning ! And the breakfast I had there is also over 3 stars! Absolutely love this hotel

Location - the hotel is just a few stops away from everything - xi men ding, taipei station, yong kang food street. Staff - friendly and knowledgeable. give good recommendation on food and places to go. always willing to help. Room - new, very clean and spacious given its upscale location and price. the only thing that the hotel may need to improve is their breakfast. extend the breakfast hour and improve the taste of the food. Also, there were times where there were no staff at the front desk during the day - maybe short of manpower? A little weird for a 4-star hotel. Overall, i would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who is looking for a decent stay in Taipei.

I just came back from my 4D-3N stay in Taipei and I am raring to write about my hotel of choice. I stayed at the Fu Hau Hotel for 3 nights in August of 2011. This hotel was my choice after extensive research here at Tripadvisor and booked through Agoda.com and I was not disappointed. I checked-in at 3:00 am of a Friday but the registration and check-in was a breeze. I originally booked a room without breakfast but was surprised to get breakfast vouchers for 3 days! But if breakfast was not provided, there are many alternative locations with walking distance from the hotel such as 7-11 and Starbucks Coffee. Our room in the 12th floor was a standard double and I was quite surprised on its size but the well-appointed furniture, elegant furnishings and spacious bathroom well compensated its size. After a few hours, I took my breakfast at the basement restaurant. It has local and international food selection. Coffee was freshly brewed by their brewing machine. I was told by my Taiwanese friends that the person who booked this hotel is very smart because of its accessibility to the MRT (Daan Station). You can literally go to Taipei’s entire destination through the MRT and bus because of its central location. It is a short walk from Taipei 101 and just a few MRT station from the TAIPEI Zoo and Maokong Gondola (which is a must see!). Better get a prepaid easy card for NT$400 which you can use for busses and MRTs around Taipei plus payment to convenience stores such as 7-11 and Happy Life. The staffs are very helpful and accommodating. They even provide umbrellas for the heat of drizzle you might encounter during your trip around the city. I just have to stay that this is the best city boutique hotel I stayed in for a trip in Asia!

If you are after a good value, budget hotel then this must be a strong choice. It is well situated and is only a brisk 5 minute walk to Daan MRT station on the Muzha Line. Daan Park is just across the road which is a good size with gardens, lake and many trees, providing a nice place for a relaxing stroll after the busy city. My room was at the front of the hotel with a large window looking across the park to the hills outside the city. There was a good curtain to ensure the room was dark when needed. Although, there is a large busy road between the hotel and park, the hotel is set back a little way and has excellent sound proofed windows ensuring minimal traffic noise. Sadly, or otherwise, and as is usually the case, internal sound proofing was inadequate. The room was well maintained and spacious with a functional, good sized bathroom, adequate wardrobe and reasonable quality furnishings in good condition and 32" LCD television. The bed was good and all linen and towels clean and unworn. Internet is provided over a wired network (cable available at reception) operating at 100mbps giving access to the superb Taiwanese broadband provision. It was superior to the usual Wifi which is often weak and provides a much slower link. I usually find the Breakfasts unpalatable in budget hotels. Here it is adequate with good coffee and unsweetened fruit juice available. The dining room is bright and naturally lit and has a pleasant outside area with good views across the City. Definitely a good way to start the day. The service was efficient, helpful and friendly. On the first day, I was gently told that it was not a good idea to go out without an umbrella and was promptly lent one!

Clean, modern, cozy and quiet hotel in alley. Taxi driver may not know this hotel most time,it is better to give an address in Chinese. Hotel is located in residential area, and there are not much store around hotel, but you can access to MRT, convenience store, coffee shop, supermarket...etc within 5-10 mins walk. With this hotel rate, I definitely come back to stay.

the hotel is located in the da'an area where it is like a commercial district. if you are looking for a more local feel, then you might not like the hotel. however if you enjoy city living, this hotel is great. furthermore, the hotel is just 1 traffic junction away from a night market. alot of amenities nearby and there is also a 24hr watson directly opposite. overall, it is a great hotel. nice stay and definitely worth going back. only cons is that it is a smaller hotel and the size gives you a feel of a 3 star.
