ULTRA-GIGA-MEGA HOSPITABLE PERSONNEL!”
VALUE FOR MONEY!
The hotel is located near the boardwalk. The environment was quiet so you can easily relax. However, I was a bit confused with the breakfast since we served with different viands in our group. Us, children, was served sausages while our parents were served with dried fish (which was the same breakfast the day before). We were also told the bread was only for foreigners. The room was huge and comfortable. However, the light in our room was dim. Other than that, it was a good stay!
Very Clean Accomodation and Superb Hospitality”
Pros - FREE pick up and drop off despite the flight delay arrival and early drop off. - Near to city center - Good package tour deals for family - Accomodating and friendly hosts especially Alexes - Unique look of the hotel (ship-style interior and exterior) - Free breakfast -hotmeals and bread/butter/jam. unlimited coffee, hot/cold water Cons: Bathroom is clean but there is no shower curtain, old and rusty tap
Perfect for one night after flying to Puerto Princesa”
The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the WiFi was strong. The breakfast would benefit from being improved.
Money wise. ”
Well, money wise it was for me the best hotel accommodation I ever had. Was not pricey at all. It has complete facilities. Good wi-fi. Very hospitable staff and the location is very much likely one of the most accessible. Very near on most of the establishment in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. The food was nice, but maybe they could let the visitors buy their own food from the public market and they will just cook it for them then that would be a five star experience. Where guests can choose what to eat and probably will have the chance to eat those that are the local delicacies.
Dad's Bayview pension definietly the right choice,.”
The Owner gone the extreme to make us welcome. From the airport pick-up, the whole stay duration, helping us to make all the necessary arrangements for visits to all the places on interest, providing us helpful information that made our stay very pleasant until sending us off to the airport upon completion of our 4 days stay there. It has been just wonderful,. Thank you.
Good place to stay in Palawan”
I highly recommend Dad Bayview Pension to anyone who like to stay in Palawan. Good location, affordable price, Alexis, the owner is very accommodating and soft spoken and his mother is very helpful and informative about places to see and pasalubong to buy including where to eat good food at reasonable price. The staff are very courteous and helpful to all our needs. It is unfortunate that we failed to see the underground river due to typhoon Basyang that hit Palawan in 3 days we were in Palawan, bu t surely we will be back to see it and we will stay again at Dads Bayview Pension. More power!
Nice view, central location, clean”
This hotel has beatiful views, excellent service, a rooftop where you can get some wind, clean rooms, central location and very helpful people. I also slept the best here.
Super lovely owner, fun rooftop”
We had alot of fun playing pirate at the ship's wheel and sipping drinks on the rooftop. Rooms were fine, clean and good aircon. Bed mattress was pretty thin, food was ok. The owner was super lovely - he really helped us out with suggestions of where to eat and helped us get around heaps.
best place to stay in Palawan., PP. worht hte money. Cheap but nice!
overall very good!!!
Thumbs up for the service! 👍🏼👍🏼”
We really loved the service they've provided, it was beyond expectation. Kudos! 👏🏼
Dad's my bet”
I've been to so many hotels, pemsion houses and inns in various destinations in the Philippines but this is one of the best place I will consider anytime... The owners are very considerate especially at the time that our flight was moved to a latter hour. They allowed us to have extra hours of stay in our room, isn't that great and very considerate... The staff are likewise accommodating... The place is conducive to various parts of Puerto princesa... Two thumbs up for this place!!!
They provided excellent service to us! Thank you:)”
PROS: -free airport pickup -clean rooms -accessible from the airport (we even walked from the City Baywalk park to the hotel one night. It was in a safe neighbourhood.) -nice tv with cable channels -good room airconditioning -with balcony view -helpful owners -very accommodating staff -they have a bakery downstairs -reasonable van rental fee -reasonable underground tour fee (they offered a discount for our family of 6) -provided extra towels -complimentary breakfast -free water!! (There's a hot & cold water dispenser on each floor. No need for us to buy bottled water outside.) -nice viewing deck at the top floor where daily breakfast is being served Our stay was amazing! They went out of their way to provide excellent service..like that one time when Ka Lui Restaurant required reservation and we were running late, so they had to call the restaurant again and requested to wait for us. The restaurant agreed but until 8:30pm only, so the owner's son asked their van driver to send us to the place WITHOUT any charge. Thank you again for that!! And the owner, Mrs. Mendoza, has always been humble and helpful. She provided lots of recommendations to me and my parents. And even helped in our request to obtain some 'daing.' CON: slower wifi during nighttime (sometimes, it doesn't reach our room. I have to go down the lobby.) Despite the slower wifi at night though, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dad's Bayview to anyone who is planning to make a trip to Puerto Princesa. Very much worth it! Thank you so much to the Mendoza family! God bless u all!
Poor value. "Family run" and "like home" do not mean what you think.”
Summary: Don't expect fulfillment of the "free airport transfers by van" promise, but do expect to be greeted on arrival at Dad's Bayview Pension by a ya-ya and crying baby; neither of which seem aware this is supposed to be a business. In the case of this pension, the "Family run" and "like home" monikers, apparently relevant for other reviewers, do not mean what you might think! To be fair, when things were requested, they were usually provided. But everything is so very basic, utilitarian and Filipino. The "bay view" was over the neighbours drying area and hollow-block wall. All of this would be fine if the room rate through Agoda were not so over-priced. Friends stayed at a nice "resort" style hotel near the airport, with pool, for just 60% of what I paid for this quirky place with thin foam mattresses and a 4-floor walk-up for the Filipino breakfast. Likes: Tickling the baby's chin for a laugh. Building, furnishings and appliances are basic, but still fresh (2016). Young lady staff are sweet trying to their best, but without any prior training. Yikes: Battle-axe lady-in-charge, who could not ever muster grace or a smile. Placement of power points makes recharging difficult. Miniscule flat-screen TV with hopelessly limited channels. Dodgy WiFi. Tips: Shop around. There is tremendously better value for money than this unmanaged building. -- end --
Solid, just one issue with miscommunication.”
Great looking spot. Rooms were nice and clean. We couldn't figure out the hot water but didn't really ask as the cold showers felt nice. The roof is a great spot for breakfast and hanging out in the evening. The only issue was that we got in and had the staff book us a tour for the fireflies that night. We were told to be ready by a certain time, and when we were there, we were told we got booked on the tour for the next day at a different time. It was a possible lost in translation but the explanation didn't make full sense. Thankfully, Angelica, a supremely sweet and helpful staff member, got us a ride down to the fireflies that evening. We were happy with that but not with the initial reaction of "oh sorry, just do it tomorrow instead." Otherwise very good and I'd stay here again.
Close to the main street, however far enough away so that you aren't bothered by noise. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately my daughter was sick so couldn't do much exploring, however you can book tours through the front desk and they are very willing to help with places to see and things to do. One night we walked down to Baywalk for dinner and one of the staff walked with us to show us the way. Breakfast on the rooftop was nice, lovely view of the water. Some people might complain about the nearby slums as ruining the view, however in a developing country that has to be expected, and personally they did not ruin the view at all. Great place to stay, very clean.
Best value for money”
The owners and staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. My boyfriend was sick for the whole duration of our stay and they helped us find treatment. They also arranged all of our tours and assisted with refunds when we couldn't continue due to my boyfriend's illness. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.
Dad's Bayview Pension”
Our stay at the pension is worth the trip. We were treated as if we were visiting friends and not just opportunity to earn profit. We were advised on the best way to visit places and best routes within our budget. You can request to have your food prepared by the staff or you can go the market yourself and they will cook it for you. Even tried their best to accommodate last minute requests. Thank you sir Alex of Dad's Bayview Pension. We enjoyed our stay.☺
very clean pension. and room is very big room.
