Good value in good location”
The Dai-Ichi Annex hotel is located just adjacent to the more lavish Dai-Ichi Hotel in downtown Tokyo. The Annex is a very good value for a hotel in this area of Tokyo. It is conveniently located close to the Shimbashi Station and the Giza Subway line. The rooms are smaller then the rooms at the Dai-Ichi (which are more taylored to the upscale western businessman's taste) , but are all that is needed for most people and is mostly the standard in Japan. The staff was very friendly and helpful. While the restaurant is somewhat expensive there are many good local restaurants in the neighborhood. Internet access is free and easy to use. I will stay at the Dai-Ichi Annex again when I am in Tokyo.
A great experience at the Dai-Ichi Annex”
We took the Narita Express Train from Narita airport, we got off, after 60 minutes, at the central train station ("TOKYO") and we took the Yamanote line for two stops to the Shimbashi Station. The Shimbashi Station is a 3-5 minute walk from the hotel (it seemes there is a slower train - "rapid" - too that runs directly from the airport to the Shimabashi station). Just make sure you take the correct exit (east) out of the station and look for the larger Dai Ichi Hotel. The annex is right behind it. Location is fantastic as you will be in Ginza district, with plenty of shops and restaurants, very well connected with trains and underground, close to most part of the sites you will visit. The rooms are extremely nice, clean, and confortable (book a twin for a bit of more space). Staff is friendly and helpful (there is a specific person in charge of helping you with your possible need to book restaurants, theatres, or anything else you want to do. They speak a decent English. Breakfast is normally not included and a bit expensive (more than 20 euro). Nevertheless you will find free the and hot water in the room and we bought something sweet, orange juice, youghurt at the supermarket just outside the hotel in order to have our "continental breakfast". Book in internet as it is much cheaper than to book directly or on the phone.
Best Hotel in Tokyo!”
We booked our trip 3 days in advance for last minute business and stayed here becaue it was available and 50% off. It was the best decision to stay at Dai-Ichi Annex, it made our entire trip. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in! The rooms were huge by Japanese standard and normal by a Western standard, we were comfortable even by the end of the trip when our purchases had started to pile up. There was excellent AC, and everything was very technological. All the lights could be controlled from switch by the bed, and the toilet was heated and had a control panel I was too afraid to touch. There was a mini fridge to keep leftovers or some drinks. The maids were always very neat with our belongings and were very nice about coming back if you were not out of the room by noon. The front desk was able to change money for us and had a reasonably priced laundry service. The staff was amazingly helpful, going out of their way to help us with every need. If they did not have something, they would go and get it for you. We had to ship several heavy boxes home near the end of our stay, and the staff went as far as to call the post office to pick up our boxes after helping us to fill out all the forms. We were able to pay our hotel directly for the shipping fees, they handled the boxes straight from our hotel room to the post office staff. They were so polite, and always seemed happy to help. We always felt welcomed. On top of this, there were many great restaurants nearby many of which were thankfully open late. Shimbashi station only a few blocks away had access to the Yamanote Loop and the Yurikamome Line. This makes it easy to access some of the most popular places in Tokyo as well as fast access to Odaiba which can be difficult from most areas. I will definitely be staying at the Dai-Ichi again in the near future, even if I have to pay full price. They have won my loyalty as a customer, I could not imagine staying anywhere else.
Great location and Reasonable price”
Dai-ichi Hotel Annex is located in Shimbashi, quite close to the busy Ginza area. The hotel is close to a subway entrance of Shimbashi Station, which is important as it's overly expensive for you to ride on cabs going around in Tokyo. The room in the Annex is cheaper and smaller than that in the main building though its condition is very much acceptable for me.
Great service and location”
We had a great stay at the Dai-ichi Annex. The location is fantastic. Just between Ginza and Hibiya and only one minute walk to Shimbashi station. This means a couple of minutes walking from the great shops and restaurants of Ginza, and a couple of minutes walking from the Hibiya park and Marunouchi. There are many lines going from Shimbashi, not only the Tokyo subway, but also the Yamanote line and other JR East trains making Yokohama and Kamakura just half an hour away. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The concierge, Ms. Abe, was able to make reservations for us at very exclusive sushi restaurants in Tokyo for which we are very greatful.
Comfortable, clean room and nice spa”
Good experience for us since this is the first time we came to Tokyo. The staff are friendly and helpful..they assist us as they could. Also there is one lady name ABE who really help us during our stayed within the hotel. We were glad found good hotel such as Dai-ichi hotel Annex especially for us who can't speak Japanese. will definite coming back...Thanks ABE and all staff of Dai-ichi hotel Annex for the good service.
japan 2010”
As a group of 6 people, we enjoyed our stay at the Dai-Ichi Annex Hotel and our friends were very impressed with our choice. The staff were excellent and helpful with extra maps & information. The location very close to the JR station was very convenient - especially as we carried heavy bags! We really appreciated the Hotel staff giving us extra time in our rooms on our day of departure as well as safely holding our luggage until our train departed for Narita. Our rooms were large, clean and very comfortable. Coffee sachets would have been a nice touch in the rooms for western visitors but we did enjoy the green tea. We thought that the breakfasts in the hotel were too expensive and found a lovely breakfast place at the entrance of the station. Thank you Dai-Ichi Annex Hotel for making our stay so pleasant and comfortable.
What a great location!”
The Dai-Ichi Annex hotel is on the bus route from Narita airport, just minutes from Ginza, close to train stations, shopping, dining and attractions. We loved the staff who made us feel at home and welcome. They provided great advice on dining and shopping and finding various addresses in the crazy world of Tokyo addresses. The hotel is spotless, the lobby gracious, the room decor is pleasant, the amenities top notch. This is a great hotel!
Welcome stay”
I really enjoyed my stay at the Dai-Ichi Annex Hotel - it was a perfect location for me - far enough away from the busy centre of Tokyo, but still close enough to exciting areas of Tokyo by the train station which is close by. Some staff spoke good English, which was very handy and they were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Overall a most enjoyable stay.
One week exploration of Tokyo city ”
For any body traveling to see Tokyo I truly recommend staying at Dai-Ichi hotel. If you’re with family try to stay on the even side of the hotel (meaning even room number, on every floor ), reason it’s faceing the backside of the hotel so you don’t have to hear the rumble of the trains. Oh take the elevator down to B1 so you can directly walk to the train station which is so close to of Shimbashi so you can move freely around to any place you like to see. Highly recommend you stay here!!!!, the only bad thing I felt was that you’d have to pay to get to the swimming pool that’s just underneath the hotel. ¥1600+ for hotel residents and ¥2000+, if you’re not if this was all inclusive I’d give all 5 *’s for this hotel. Just visited from 8th-15th.
Great Stay”
This is the third time I have stayed at the Dai-ichi Hotel Annex and, as always, the friendly helpful staff make it a very comfortable stay. I come for Foodex every year at this time and find that the location of the hotel near the station and the availability of food and also convenience stores make it very easy as I'm often tired after the days work. Also I've never had any problems re safety and going out at night or walking to and from the station.
Dai-ichi Annex Hotel”
Dai-ichi Annex Hotel was the last of the hotels that we stayed in whilst in Japan. It was a beautifully kept hotel, clean and modern with all the amenities you could want. The staff were very frienly and quickly pulled out maps that they wrote directions on for us for the places that we wanted to visit. The hotel is very close to the train station, places to eat, shop and walking distance to Ginza.
Always clean, convenient and pleasant”
We have visited Japan four times and on each trip, we have stayed at this hotel. We always stay here at the very beginning of the trip, tour other areas of Japan and then return to Dai Ichi Annex for a few days before leaving Japan. The location-- close to Shimbashi station-- provides convenient rail and metro travel. It is close to Ginza and Shiodome. Cab fare to other parts of Tokyo is manageable from this hotel. The staff has differing levels of English capability, but they are all courteous and helpful. We will always return to this hotel anytime we visit Japan.
Dai ichi anex”
The hotel is very conveniently located 1 minute walk from Shimbasi station and easy walking distance to the centre of Ginza, Imperial palace etc. If travelling from Narita airport the limosine bus stops at the main Dai-Ichi hotel and the anex is 50m. The room was clean, well equipped and a reasonable size. Staff were very helpful and spoke good English. We dd not use the restaurant as there is a huge choice of restaurants close-by. The hotel represents good value given the location.
comfortable, friendly and great location”
see the pros and cons above. The rooms are really comfortable and they provided dressing gowns and slippers plus green tea on demand. The staff speak English and are really helpful. The location is ideal, being near the Imperial Palace, Tokyo main station and several metro stations. There are several reasonable eating places nearby. Tours pick up from the main Dai-ichi hotel next door. There is free internet access but, contrary to the web site information, it costs 1,500 Yen per day to hire a laptop if you do not have your own.
We have stayed here so many times!!”
We always stay here when we visit tokyo. We've tried other hotels (in Shinjuku and Minato) - and this one still beats them all. Near Shimbashi station (Asakusa and Ginza metro lines and the JR Yamanote line), Uchisaiwaicho station (Toei Mita line), and Hibiya station (Chiyoda, Toei Mita lines) - most places take less than 30 minutes travel time! Staff are friendly and warm and always helpful. The airport shuttle is just across the street at the main Dai Ichi Hotel (which also has a great Teppan place, Ittetsu, on L21). Love love love the Dai Ichi Annex ❤️❤️
Good Location”
room made smaller, by putting a massage chair in front of the window, may be thinking of single business traveler. Staff very friendly and helpful, they will assist you to take airport limo from Dai-Ichi Hotel next door, since the airport limo is not stopping at annex building. Bakery at Dai-ichi hotel is fantastic. Best restaurants in Tokyo are all in walking distance, as well as the whole Ginza area. Free wi-fi, even in the rooms, very fast.
Lovely Hotel and Great Service”
Hotel is centrally located in Shinbashi, a shopping paradise. It's approximately 5-8 miniutes walk from the train station and is located just beside the Dai-ichi Hotel. Staff can speak English relatively well. One commendable point is their excellent service. My friend realised that she has left her luggage keys in Kyoto Hotel and upon notifying the Hotel Staff, they took the trouble to arrange for the key to be delivered to the hotel. As we were leaving for Hakone the very next day, the particular staff even thought of ways to solve our exisiting problem. Although there was nothing to be done, we were particularly touched. Overall, it was a great stay. Just wished that the room could be a little bigger for us to put our luggages.
Wonderful hotel”
Dai-ich Hotel Annex Tokyo is really wonderful hotel with very nice staff, great location for transportation, walking to Ginza shopping area, cleanly room. All things there brought us fantastic trip. Surely will make the booking with this hotel again.
Thank you for staying at Dai-ichi Hotel Annex. All of the staff are very pleased as you seem satisfied with the location. The hotel is close to Shimbashi station and has good access for business and sightseeing. We look forward to your stay with us.
We have caught a cold from Hakone due to the bad weather condition. When approached the Hotel Staff to recommend a pharmacy to purchase the medication, he even wrote down our condition on a piece of paper, so that we could purchase it easily from the nearby drug store. Overall, it was a great stay. I really hope that the room could be a little bigger for us to put our luggages.
