Great”
I love Dai-ichi hotel. Dont be fooled by the old interior of the lobby for the gem of this hotel lies on their spacious rooms and great hotel staff. I say this because: 1. Their rooms are big, clean and spacious, not typical of any other Tokyo hotels. I love it. there's room for me to put my luggage, sort and organize it on a daily basis. 3. I also love the bathroom! It is spacious. There is a bath tub and a shower room. Even the toilet is high-tech! 4. Fast wi-fi in the room. 5. I stayed on the 9th floor which is non-smoking floor. The interior and wall paper is colored baby pink. So easy on the eyes. For a moment, upon check in, I thought I was transported to Sugar Rush candy Land haahah 6. The hotel is just right across a local JR station. So easy and convenient for me to go to all the sites in the city. 7. There are a lot of Japanese restaurants in the neighborhood. Take your pick. there's a sushi restaurant, tempura restaurant, ramen restaurant and a lot more. Spent a lot of my time eating in these restaurants nearby. 8. Hotel staff service exceeds my expectations. They speak passable English and will make an effort to make all your personal and tour needs attended. Upon check in, we spent a lot of time in the informaton desk where we were asking a lot of information about city tour. Hotel officer was very nice and tried her best to book us a Sunrise city tour at the very last minute. I just forgot to get her name but she really is wonderful. She even left a message on our room phone for follow-up requests and concerns. 9. This hotel is near Ginza. Love going to Ginza everytime I am in tokyo. Maybe 2 blocks away from Ginza. I had the misfortune of riding a taxi to ginza when the distance is around the corner. I should have just walked. This is the main reason why I booked this hotel. For Ginza shopping and easy access to/from the airport via JR public trains. Overall, I will stay in this hotel again.
Big room, good location, great service!”
I stayed in Dai-ichi hotel with wife in November 2012, and must say that it is a fabulous hotel. The hotel is big by Tokyo standards, with even a huge bathroom (shower stall and bathtub). Also, we had a spectacular view of the Tokyo Tower, as well as the Shinbashi area, which was great. The main greatness of this hotel was the convenience - (1) Transport convenience : Just a <5 min walk to the Shinbashi station, which is conveniently located along the Yamanote Line. Going to Tokyo (to catch the Narita Express to Airport) is never a problem. Coming back to hotel after a shopping spree at Harajuku or Shibuya is not a problem too. (2) Connectivity convenience : WIFI was not automatically provided in the room, but we asked for a modem, which they graciously gave us for free. Connecitivity was rather fast. My wife was happy. (3) Unforeseen convenience : It rained twice while we were there. Beside lending us an umbrella, we happily found out that there is a secret underground passage directly from the hotel to the station... No rain, no pain. Also, while there was an earthquake in Tokyo, the hotel needed to do safety checks to the main lift. Hotel staff was quick to ensure that one of the cargo lift is checked for safety, and escorted the guests personally to the rooms via the cargo lift. Great job! (4) Late night convenience : There`s the convenient Lawson convenience store for late night goodies and fast food restaurants. Oh well... Only downside for most non-Japanese-speaking travellers is that the staff might not be the best in speaking English. However, with a few sign languages and pointing here and there, the hotel itself will make up for this.
Decent business hotel near Shimbashi Station”
i wanted to look for a decent business hotel near shimbashi station. dai-ichi hotel tokyo seemed like a good fit on the web, and it did not disappoint. that said: 1) this is a "classic" asian business hotel; in other words, if you re looking for something that's more contemporary looking and smoke-free, this is probably not it; 2) right next door, there is a dai-ichi hotel tokyo annex. this one is more contemporary, and hopefully smoke-free. i will try it next time and write a review; 3) according to the web description, the hotel features a gym. however, you have to pay separately for the gym. the good thing is that the first day i paid only jpy 1,000, and the next day was free. otherwise, i'd feel really cheated; 4) if you are willing to spend more money, don't care about having a gym, then consider the hotels near shiodome, which is considerably newer area with more contemporary hotels, like hotel ville fontaine shiodome or hamamatsucho. hope my comments help. i would consider returning to the hotel because i prefer being right next to shimbashi station so i can be near the trains to the airports. that said, if you stay at the shiodome hotels, the underground tunnel would get you to the same trains.
Great 5 star hotel with very nice & helpful Staffs & strategic location, only 4 minutes to Ginza”
Very nice 5 star standard hotel services with relatively big room compared to other hotels in Tokyo. Nearby and within walking distance to Ginza (only 4 minutes walking) and Shimbashi Station, which can be accesed via underground tunnel from the hotel to Shimbashi Station (4 minutes), so it is very helpful during rain especially if you have young children. Nearby convenient store, Ichiran Noodle, and other local Japanese good restaurant, as well McDonalds. The room is very clean. I spent 5 nights with 2 young children (4 and 7 yrs) and we all have good memories staying at Dai-ichi. Lots of fun staying at Dai-ichi and I definitely will stay here again whenever I visit Tokyo. Thank you for choosing Da-ichi Hotel Tokyo and for the positive feedback of your stay. Shimbashi, train and metro stations are really close, making Tokyo quite accessible. We hope that you will continue to choose our hotel for future accommodations. Sincerely,
The Dai-Ichi Hotel Tokyo was wonderful”
We loved our stay at the Dai- Ichi Hotel in Tokyo. The room was lovely and the staff were very helpful. The concierge enabled us to see Tokyo in the most efficient and effective way possible, to the point that they checked the weather to make sure that views from certain areas where the best that they could be. This Hotel topped off a wonderful Japan experience. Well done Dai- Ichi Hotel Tokyo!
Business district and some shopping nearby”
spent 5 nights at dai-ichi. direct limo bus from both narita and haneda although make sure you check arrival and departure timings from the limo bus website. 5 min walking distance from shinbashi station from whrre you can access all major train lines including the inter-city shinkansen. definately my choice hotel for business trips in tokyo.
Great Experience”
I have been to different hotels in Tokyo and most of them are small, cramped and crowded. This one surprised me. Spacious, price was extremely reasonable, great location. Just one elevator ride down and can walk to the subway. The staff is extremely helpful and importantly can communicate in English. The next time I go back to Tokyo I will have no hesitation to stay in Dai-ichi Hotel once more.
Central and luxurious yet reasonably priced”
The rooms were very spacious and came with all amenities and a variety of toiletries. A similar hotel in the heart of Ginza would have cost a lot more and would have been much smaller. Dai ichi is a premium hotel with excellent service and the walk to the heart of Ginza & the train station is less than 3 minutes. The room service is not the best but with such amazing dining options in Tokyo, one should not even worry about room service... There are a lot of good (and late night) dining options immediately outside the hotel. Classy & comfortable ... I would definitely stay there again.
Great place to stay in Tokyo”
There were 6 adults staying at the Dai-ichi Hotel and we all found it a great experience. The staff were very accommodating and if they didn't understand our request in English, they quickly went and found someone who could. The rooms were very good with wonderful bedding and a large bathroom. There was a great variety of food to be had and all within a short walk from the hotel. From McDonalds (2 mins walk) and KFC (8 mins walk if that)to truly Japanese noodle bars and restaurants and all at good prices. There are lots of 7/11 and Lawson stores close by too that cater with take out food and carry fresh milk.
Great hotel, great staff, great location!!!!”
This hotel is great! Prior to staying at the hotel, I had several questions, and the hotel always responded via email. Communication with the hotel was great. The hotel is accessable from the Narita Airport by bus shuttle (to and from the airport). This is extremely convienent door to door service. I recommend using this service, unless you want to figure out the train and subway system after a long flight, and carry your bulky luggage on a busy train. Check in (and check out) was very easy. Staff was very friendly and most spoke English, or found someone who did speak English. Staff was also very knowledgeable about Tokyo, exchanging foreign currency, and local restaurants. The hotel is able to exchange some foreign currency. If you have other types of uncommon currency, then there is a bank close by who may be able to exchange your money. The hotel location is great for Tokyo visitors. It is a few minute walk to the Shimbashi station, which will get you to anywhere in Tokyo quickly. The hotel is within walking distance of Ginza, the famous Tsukiji fish market, and tons of restaurants (Japanese, formal, casual, McDonalds, KFC, and many many more). If you need to buy unique Japanese toys for kids, the hotel is within walking distance to a large toy department store (Hakuhinkan). There are two 7-11 type corner stores on either side of the hotel, which also sells food and drinks. Our hotel room was spacious and very clean. Wired or wireless internet is available. The room had all of the amenities you could ever need. We were lucky enough to have a view of Tokyo Tower from our room, and saw it lit up every night. The hotel interior decorating is fine. We did not try the food at the hotel because there were so many local restaurants to try. Compared to other Tokyo hotels, this hotel is good value. We were sad to leave the hotel because our experience was so good. I would stay here again.
Not just for business people”
Look around you at Dai-Ichi Tokyo and you will see business people. They are more demanding than personal travelers so this hotel has set its standard higher. I am a business person who stays in Dai Ichi Tokyo as a personal traveller. Because it's that good.
Nice hotel ”
We stayed in Dai-ichi Hotel for 4 nights, traveling with two young kids. We have booked a room with two proper beds and a rollout bed, bed size is bigger than I expected. Room is clean and tidy, also set with baby cot as requested. Booked the room under a very reasonable price, hotel staff is friendly and super responsive. I was amazed with their efficiency. Hotel location is very good too, located right next to train station! We will definitely choose this hotel again!
Thank you very much for staying with us and your feedback at Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo. We are glad to hear that you and your family have enjoyed your stay here. We hope to see you again in the near future with our ever-improving effort in customer satisfaction. Sincerely,
Excellent and we will return to this hotel ”
Dai-Ichi Hotel is absolutely beautiful and the location is perfect in Ginza, Tokyo. We love ❤️ dining at the Lounge 21 with its excellent cooking by the Chef, so delicious and yummy. The view is absolutely fascinating and amazing. Perfect 👌 10
Great hotel in Tokyo”
We stayed in 5 hotels during the 2 weeks in Japan and felt that Dai-ichi Hotel was the best one. Great facility. Big room size. Convenient location: across from train station, many restaurants, close to Ginza., across from Lawson. Helpful staff. Airport limousine bus stops in front of the hotel, which made it very convenient to go to Narita at the end of our Japan trip. Great hotel!
Always Excellent”
Dai Ichi is my favourite hotel in Tokyo. The staff an location are as good as it gets. The rooms are very well appointed and comfortable. My only wish is that they provide good western food. This seems unlikely as it is a Japanese business hotel. But I live in hope.
Awesome location, great value!”
I'm a little hard to please (with all the traveling I do) but... this place came through. It is a five star, but... I'd say, it's an "entry-level" 5 star. I could easily see this place rated 4-stars in many other parts of the world. However... don't let that detract you. The design/decor is of a classic/antiquated style. I'm only 34... I generally prefer modern/slick hotels. But this place actually has charm to it. It has a bohemian, upscale feel to it- even if, it shows some age. It works well. The staff was superb but hey- we're in Japan. If you find fault in Japanese service, well... I'll stop there (this is Agoda, and we need to keep this family-friendly). Every aspect of my stay was catered to with utmost professionalism and genuine care. The bellboys, front desk staff, maids... all world-class. The room itself, spacious, clean (of course), and well setup. Location is stellar: you're 100 meters from the start of Ginza- the hippest, most chic/upscale part of Tokyo. A great sidestreet (I don't recall the name- but ask the staff) is about 100 meters away- that is full of great patio bars/restaurants, that are often alive well into the night even on weekdays (the street runs right along the Yamanote line- if you have trouble finding it). It's one of my favorite little hidden streets in Tokyo. Great for bars, restaurants, and just mild-nightlife. For the price, you'll have a hard time finding something better in Tokyo- especially- considering the location- right at the edge of Ginza. Highly recommended.
Great location”
Hotel's basement is directly connected to Shinbashi train station, making travel around Tokyo very convenient. The hotel is also the take off point for different tours including the one that goes to Mt. Fuji. There are a lot of restaurants nearby, including a McDonald's and a Starbucks for those who want a quick bite and hot drink. Also lots of convenience stores with ATMs nearby. Service and facilities are also good. Will definitely consider when coming back to Tokyo.
Excellent hotel and great location”
Had an excellent stay at the Dai-Ichi hotel. There were four in our part two adults, two kids (ages 9 and 5). Our superior twin room was both decent in space and the beds were enough to be comfortable for two people each. Would definitely stay here again. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Our stay at the Dai-ichi Hotel - Tokyo”
My wife and I loved our stay at the Dia-ichi. It was a top notch hotel with all of the amenities. The staff were very accommodating, the rooms were spacious and clean, the hotel restaraunt on the top floor was special and the location was very convenient. We loved the hotel pick-up for tours and the airport shuttle. The hotel was not cheap ... but we are talking about a first-rate hotel in a central location in the world's largest and most expensive city. It was worth the price!
Good location with nice facilities ”
We had spent 3 nights at Dai ichi, the location is very convenient to tram station with minutes walking to Ginza shopping downtown. It is also close to Hibiya garden and imperial palace. We didn't have the luck to live in the room assigned to the side of viewing Tokyo tower, but with bit noise from the railways nearby. General speaking, this hotel is very clean, and staff are good enough. Well it was pricy and details makes it worth for the money we spent.
