Real Japanese Experience and Friendy Owner”

I stayed in this Inn for 3 nights with my wife and teenage daughter during our recent visit to Japan. We really enjoyed the real Japanese experience in this Inn. It is not a luxury hotel, but it was modest, clean, and only around 10-15 minutes walk from Takaoka train station. We had room no 20 which was on the 2nd floor and at the front of the building. It was a large room which can accommodate 4 people. The heater and the thick blanket was a great help in reducing the cold weather in the winter season. There was a separate man and woman toilet in the 2nd floor. For the man, it has 3 closets (2 was Japanese style) and 2 urinoirs. The bathrooms were in the first floor. It was a shared bathroom where 3 people can take a bath together with the Japanese style. I would like to thank again Mr Yasushi Shioda who has taken care of my family during our short stay there. He was very kind, polite, and very patient with us. My wife called him as we missed our train from Takayama on the way back to Takaoka. We were only reached the hotel after midnight whilst the hotel door was supposed to be locked at 11pm. But he patiently waited for us. Using Takaoka as the base for traveling around the area (ie to Shirakawa-go and Takayawa) was a good decision as it was a nice little city with train station that can easily reach other areas that we wanted to visit. And certainly choosing Daibutsu Ryokan Inn as our stay provided us with the most memorable stay during our trip to Japan this time.

A great traditional Japan styled hotel”

I arrived the hotel at around 2130 that night. Still, the staff, speaking good English. Welcome me and introduce all the facilities within the hotel and remind me almost everything. It makes a good impression. This is the first Traditional Japanese-styled hotel I ever resided in any of my Japan trip. You can experience living in a room that it style is common among long-lasting Japanese houses. The Japanese-styled room also provides a mean for me to emerge into Japan culture. The room is clean and tidy. It also has a television. I can watch Japan broadcast despite that I can sparingly understand Japanese. For the bathroom, many trays are provided to contain your clothes. Also you can enjoy both showering and bathing (warm water bath is already provided. You don't need to prepare by yourself). Soups and Shampoos are already provided. Such a great place to stay with inexpensive price! You only need to walk about 10 minutes from Takaoka station. You can find it easily if you have a Google map. Also there is a Lawson near the hotel. So don't worry about eating etc.

Great location (close to the train station, daibutsu, and Takaoka castle park), lovely staff, and a great room (we were overlooking the koi pond).

A good experience: Traditional Japanese-styled”

We are totally 8 persons in Group. Although we arrived the hotel late, the staff was still waiting for us and nice to introduce all the facilities for us. The Daibutsu Ryokan Hotel is the traditional Japanese-styled hotel. Although it is not the luxuary-style hotel, it provides us a warm and good experience in Japanese culture.

Uncle is very kind”

I just stay before travel to tateyama alpine route next day. The blanket is good. ฺBathtub is so relax. Near takaoka train staion and good yakitori restaurant.

Great deal for a great location and great rooms and service”

Everything was spectacular, if you're looking for old fashioned Japanese service. The rooms are great, and super huge. It's close to the train station, and the staff is super helpful.

Japanese-styled hotel”

We are totally 8 peoples and very late to check in. The staffs are so nice and waiting for us. We apprecipated their kind-heartedness.

Excellent service by he hotel”

Very kind & allow us to change from 2nd floor to 1st floor due to our 2x heavy luggage. We also loaned 2x bikes to cycle around the city. Arigato gazaimasu

Great location for Takaoka sightseeing ”

Hotel room is spacious and the futon bed is comfortable. The host is very friendly and even helped to bring our heavy luggages to 2nd floor for us! If you are traveling by train & want to go for sightseeing this is definitely a good ryokan location.

Muy agradable”

La habitación muy bien, amplia y bonita. Tiene un pequeño spa también muy agradable. Baños limpios. El frigorífico se comparte y es muy pequeño. Tiene todo lo que necesitas y muy céntrico.

文豪気分が味わえます。”

門限が23時でしたが、そもそも夜遅くまで飲み歩きたいのであれば高岡の街自体おススメしません。（ほとんど閉まってます。） 宿の近くに（自称）日本三大大仏の高岡大仏がありますが、過度な期待は禁物。大仏前のAmidaCafeのラテアートが大仏でした！

非常傳統的日式住宅”

古樸, 有年份的房子, 可以感受到傳統的日式生活, 房間內有暖氣, 但是走廊是沒有的, 浴場小小的, 但是還是可以泡湯, 麻雀雖小, 五臟俱全, 早餐也是日式傳統早餐, 非常棒
