Great choice for Kyoto, close to Kyoto Station”
This was the first time staying in Daiwa Roynet hotels, and they did not disappoint. I was glad I decided to book this hotel chain in Ginza, Tokyo following two nights at this hotel. Located just north of Kyoto station, this hotel is located in a great spot and has the luxury feel. Upon check-in, staff was very accommodating and helpful. Rooms were a great size, not too small where you feel cramped. Bathrooms were great with a waterfall shower. If you're looking for a great hotel that is close to food, starbucks, and transportation look no further!

All very fine except for the breakfast”
There is really nothing more to add: the location is very central, the rooms are small but very comfortable & clean, the staff is very friendly but the breakfast is simply not satisfactory at all, unless you‘re happy with a very poor quality of bread and pastry, nearly no choice of cold cuts and a coffee, which is not worth the name... We have been travelling around since many years in Asia and most of the times had a nice choice & quality. Not so this time > the Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kitahama in Osaka where we are staying currently is even worse... We‘re curious for our breakfast in the Daiwa Roynet Hotel in Ginza, Tokyo but we don‘t expect anything good... It‘s really a pitty, are the western guests less interesting / important for this hotel management?

Simply awesome”
We arrived in Kyoto somewhat tired, and were thankful that the hotel was right next to the train station, tucked between a shopping center and a beautiful temple - and with a police station next door (safety!). Getting into the room we found the facilities so new, it's like someone just took the plastic wrappers off of them. But the most surprising part was that when we were leaving for Osaka and needed to verify arrangements at the next hotel, the Daiwa Roynet staff made multiple phone calls for us, to help us with ANOTHER HOTEL!

Excellent Hotel ”
Daiwa Roynet (as a brand) is exceptional value. The Kyoto - ekimae is literally 300m from Kyoto station and close to Gion, Fushinari Shrine and Kyoto Imperial palace. I really liked this hotel and its amenities

kelme from hawaii”
2nd time at this hotel, many times with the Daiwa Roynet chain. Efficient check in, convenient location, English speaking staff is enough to get by and very efficient transfer of luggage. Did not get the breakfast included for this trip and missed the convenience. Twin deluxe room is very large and more than enough for two. I always look for a Daiwa first wherever we go in Japan.

Spacious room, great location”
Room is spacious with ample natural light. The twin beds are quite large, although a bit firm. Bathroom is larger than other hotels I've stayed at in Japan, particularly love the bathtub & rainfall shower. At check in, they have amenities baskets for ladies and children, from which you can take whatever you like, which I thought was special. The staff may seem standoff-ish, but when they know you really need help, they are very helpful. They helped me book an airport limousine bus departing from my next hotel in Tokyo. Location is a 5-10 minute walk from Kyoto Station and just a stone's throw away from Kyoto Tower. The hotel also connects directly to Kyoto Station through the Porta on B1 level, which is convenient when it's raining. However, connecting to the Porta is through a series of steps (no elevator/escalator/ramp), so keep that in mind if you're travelling with a pram/stroller/wheelchair/large suitcase.

my little child really really love this hotel ”
really love this hotel, for their hospitality, services and facilities, latest the location. For us, who bring little child and many luggage, not need to worry about it, because the hotel location can access to kyoto station with underground floor, just take the elevator outside building, go down to level B1, find exit and turn right. 1st we find the kyoto yodobashi (all things sell here include food court and restaurant in level 6) and walk straight find the subway gate, and take left side and go up, find the JR gate. The hotel give amenities set for kids and of course for ladies. Something must improve is the laundry coin machine for who used it, maybe hotel make T&C, if after 15 minutes laundry finish and nobody take it, we can open and put it in the basket, so next guest can use it and no need to wait too long.

Everything is good, except SERVICE MIND!😕”
Maids greeted us with a smile, while as the front staff did not. They have no service mind, and make us feel unwelcome. We won't recommend anybody to stay here(Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae) for sure!

After you see the yodobashi, the hotel was next to the yodobashi. Good price, good location, good room. Staff can speak english too. Will definitey book this hotel again when i am going to kyoto next time

great location but that about it”
great location, close to train station and restaurants. but the rooms are very small. Breakfast is outsourced toa Vietnamese restaurant in the same building and the quality is nowhere near the standard you expect in other Daiwa Roynet hotels.

excellent hotel”
i live here for 4 night, at first, i choose this hotel because of his outside look feel comfort, and his location very nearby JR station. After i arrived, it's very good that i must leave this comment, this hotel not very expensive and price acceptable, walk to JR station just within 5mins, and its have some supermarket and shopping mall nearby. BTW, as i want to book one of restaurant nearby, the frontdesk staff very willing and helpful to help. So thanksful for their kindness. of course, the room are very clear too. i must book again when i come to kyoto again.

Daiwa Roynet hotel is perfectly located.”
This hotel is great. Though tight in room size, the place is very clean and the staff are very polite and helpful. The hotel has everything you need for an adventure in Kyoto. It's close to the main Kyoto train station and bus terminus. There are plenty of restaurants and shops near by. Nothing is too far from this hotel and next time I visit Kyoto, I would definitely consider staying here again.

Convenient location”
You can simply access to the hotel through the underground walkway from Kyoto Station. You may also walk on the Ground level which you will pass by Kyoto Tower and Yodobaishi - which also has a supermarket on B2 floor. Transportation is easy as Kyoto station and bus stations are nearby. Rooms are standard size of Japan hotel rooms, and it neat and clean.

Toilet leak”
On our first night in I noticed a leak in the toilet. I informed front desk who rectified the issue pretty fast and we had a room change to a larger room with a later check out. The hotel is super close to Kyoto Station and Kyoto Tower. Lots of cafes and restaurants in the area. So far the best stay in Japan. It is on the pricey end in comparison to other hotels looked at but definitely worth every penny. Will be coming back.

Highlight if our stay in Japan”
We loved loved the hotel. It’s location is amazing, 5 mins from Kyoto station and you have an underground walkway to get there. It is next to Yodobashi and Kyoto tower which have multiple dining option. The hotel staff speak good English which is a rarity in Japan. The rooms are decent sized. All other hotels packed after we stayed here. We will highly recommend basing your stay in Japan here.

Great stay!”
One stop from KIX via train...if a foreigner, buy ticket at KIX Information Center or JR Train station office. Lots of staff and help with tickets. Hotel is easy to find...just walk out the Central Exit of Kyoto Station and up the road...hotel is two blocks up...about 5 to 10 minute walk from train station. Hotel is clean and new. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Was a nice place to return to after busy sightseeing days. Staff made good restaurant recommendation for ramen.

Classy new hotel in convenient location”
Hotel is 3 min walk across the road from kyoto station. From outside, the hotel does not look impressive. But once you step in, you will notice that the hotel is unlike the usual hotel. There's a quiet zen like atmosphere. Everything looks new. Rooms are tastefully furnished and we love the classy, spacious bathroom. Nice touches like bath salts & drip coffee are provided. Lots of eateries around. If there's something to pick on, it would be that the beds are not as comfortable.
