First of all, the hotels affiliated with Daiwa are famous for their spacious rooms. I used a single room (a slightly larger size), and I was able to keep my suitcase open throughout my trip... There was no problem with moving around at all, and with a desk by the window and two chairs at the small table, it was nice to have a beer in the evening. The cleaning was neat, and they provided water every day, which was great. There was also an ice maker, which was like a blessing for someone who enjoys cold drinks. The amenities could be freely taken from the first floor, and the shower towels were really thick and soft, which was wonderful. The bathroom was so spacious that it felt too luxurious for just one person. However, the hot and cold water was extremely sensitive; just a slight turn made it either too hot or too cold, but it was still manageable. The location is a bit far from the airport railway, but since you'll be moving within the station and the route is almost flat, it’s not a big deal. The subway was also relatively close. It was convenient to go to the Nagoya Station Esca underground shopping area, and especially for those taking the Shirakawa-go Takayama bus tour, the meeting point is mostly in the west of Nagoya Station, which makes it even easier. There are some good places to try nearby, like Sekai no Yamachan (tebasaki house, which I found a bit salty), Katsuo across the street (a cheap smoking-friendly bar for snacks and drinks), Torikizoku, and Komeda Coffee, which are all worth visiting. There are also 2-3 convenience stores within a reasonable distance. It’s not a bustling neighborhood either, which is even better. I liked it so much that I would want to use it again the next time I visit Nagoya. There wasn’t anything missing.
