Danga Bay hotels & places to stay

I was not expecting much from this budget hotel since it was just going to be a 9-hour stay for my family and I but I read many good reviews about it. Firstly, their location is strategic : next to a Police Station, in Danga Bay, near Singgah Selalu Restaurant (which is like a food court with many varieties of Malaysian food) and close to Causeway. It was a long day for us and so exhausted when we checked-in. The creative decos and design of this hotel put a smile on my face as it reminded me of all the good quality backpacker hostels I've stayed in Europe. You'd notice that the hotel's signage is a little bit slanted, so were the key holder, bed lights and mirror too. Anyways, the parking is free and ample. Since I had happy thoughts during check-in and check-in process was a breeze, climbing up a floor (they do not have a lift) while carrying my 13-month old daughter on 1 hand and holding onto my 4 yo son on another was not a problem at all. The path is narrow but manageable for Asian physique like me but might be tricky for bigger size. The room was compact but it was carefully designed and decorated that you wont feel claustrophobic. The big window helped too. Everything in the room was nothing more than 3-steps away. Everything was clean and comfortable. There is a convenient store next to the hotel and little cafes and restaurant nearby if you want to get a quick bites. Excellent, value for money and will stay here again.

Tune Hotel Danga Bay has been my "home away from home" to celebrate the Hari Raya Aidilfitri in my hometown JB. Previously we used to stay at my auntie's house but after their son got married and had a family, we felt that it was more appropriate to stay at a hotel. So for the past two years, we have booked ourselves in Tune Hotel Danga Bay for the Hari Raya after trying out several other hotels. We love the convenience and cleanliness of the Tune Hotel, and only pay for what we need or use. The first year, we took advantage of the excursion to Universal Studios Singapore and this year, we stayed at Tune Hotel and went to Legoland during the Hari Raya after spending time with our relatives. Its wonderful to come "home" to a comfortable and clean room after a hectic fun filled day. Now we make advanced booking for Hari Raya next year and Hari Raya Haji too. Thanks Tune Hotel.

Compliment totally goes to Zainal. He is an exceptional front desk. I will return to this Hotel because of him. Greeted us well. Create conversation during check in and checkout, he really engage well with us. Have a nice garden but not sure why they didnt utilize it for breakfast instead sending us to dine at the closed banquet hall. The breakfast was adequate but could be served and presented better example the cereal was inside a plastic used jar which could be so much better if placed in a cereal dispenser. Other than that is worth the price paid, room is spacious but night sleep is disturbed by the sounds of bikes/ late night cars as its next to the highway.

1. Mention to have a bath tub with pool view but the apartment doesn't have any (even mentioned all his rooms and the whole buildinh rooms don't offer bath tub. Changed to city view without notice and replied - the room someone else had stay (then what is the use of booking?) More like staying at a school hostel, was not provided with security pass, each time going out need to surrender temp pass, each time enter need to surrender license (is this a joke?) No facilities can be seen, no signs, no directions, forget about reception, even the best men to ask which is the security unable to answer due to being a foreigner who can't even speak english well. Owner replied he is not sure bcause of seldom staying there. The first room given had a very pungent alcoholic + cigarettes + sex party smell. Even the sink still flooded with water and food waste. Waste bin full. Kitchenery dirty. I'm sure the bed cover was just tucked in without exchange because i can smell sweat on it. The sofa was partly falling over. After nagging to the owner he ask his people to change our room. When he arrived, he acted rude, and start asking what is the problem. When we start showing him, he replied- only flooded sink??? Nothing else???? I nearly out of patient while answering - " now i understand, the owner employed the blind and the disables as his right hand man" My wife start taking over the room exchange session. I waited till 5pm for the person who hold the keys to be available. And all the room exchange and waiting session took us until 7pm whilst check in time started from 3pm. Guess what, the next day the owner called me as early as 8am to asked whether i prefer to extend my stay and reminded me of the check out tumi.e again and not be late. Guess what, i checked out at 10am due to dissapointment and dissatisfaction.

She(owner) so kind of heart . I never be treated or welcomed like she ever did before. I asked if she can be consider my check out on 3pm , with humble and sincere she totally said yes . Without any extra-charges. Compare to my experience with the other owner or other resident previously . She's so tolerate and make me so comfortable. Thanks Mam for having us the best services ever !

a short trip to jb just to wind down and i stumble upon this hotel because of the location. would rate it a 4 out of 5. booked for a 2 bedroom family suite for the 4 of us, but the room can definitely hold more. website claims there is suppose to be tv in each bedroom but not for room 604 that we stayed in. doesnt really matter though. it is also suppose to have a mini kitchen, with cooking area, but doesnt apply for this room i guess. this doesnt matter to me either cause we are not doing any cooking. very clean but the furnitures really need an upgrading. old television set with rocky chairs and stained sofa. the socket doesnt seem to work either for many points in the room. location is a stone throw away from danga bay aka the seafood heaven but we fell asleep too soon. no worries about that as jb is very near sg. this is a must try dinner spot. breakfast the next day is really good. wide range of food and most importantly, it is edible and nice. beautiful view over the straits in the morn overall, will recommend this hotel to families who would want to take a short break. do not have to worry if you are driving because the security there is tight.

It was great home and we had excellent time while staying there. The owner is nice and accommodating and communicates well. I will definitely come back again and recommend friends and give good review. Positives: High Floor and windy sea view from an angle. Acceptably clean and neat. Good mattresses. Wifi available, and TV box. Fridge. Provided some plates and cutlery. Good location (if you have car). 4 Pools and Playground. Ample car park and easily accessible. Gym, sky deck, basic cafeteria. Have connections from Singapore phone lines. Things should improve: The bed linens are non-cotton so its hot. Towels provided but smelly. No microwave. Safety power breakers for aircons kept tripping, have to often push up to on. Wardrobes are moldy and smelly. The children's playground is very minimal.

The apartment and the surrounding were superb. Nice beach! The security was excellent. 24 hours guarded and password was needed to open the door. Just 10 minutes drive to JB. However, we were not allowed to use the swimming pool because we were not in our swimming suit/ trunk. The thing is that we are Muslim and swimming suit/trunk is a big no to us. I felt sorry for my sibling tho. Other than that, excellent!

Booked a 3 bedroom apartment for a family of 5 adults 2 kids under 5yo. Great space for all of us and facilities were amazing and complete. Location was not easy to find however we managed and thankfully I spoke basic Chinese as the owner does not speak English or Malay as he’s Chinese National. The apartment was very dusty in fact which was disappointing cuz it seems we got the “spare” room and was not told there isn’t WiFi cuz they’re fully booked. So we paid full with no WiFi but was offered LCO till 3PM. Bed was dusty and no amenities for us like soap shampoo kitchen wares. Very empty apartment and basic means just bed ac tv and sofa for stay. Despite all these, we will definitely come back because e view was well worth it!

It was a bit confusing upon chec in because we had to rely on the security. We were not told of unit no. Access card was in room. Luckily we have the password. When we entered the unit, it was no cleaned properly 1. No clean bath towels 2. They have damp towels at the balcony ! 3. Empty water bottles in the kitchen cabinet ! 4. Empty plastic in the kitchen cabinet !! The management must be very careful that this does not happen again...
