Interesting historical place”
Good location, famous Margareth Island, nice view (river/park), pools with healthy hot water, proper breakfast. Housekeeping needs improvement (cleaning quality and procedure i.e. dirty sheets left in the corridor for few hours). In minus that after booking nobody informed us that saunas and swimming pools would be closed during our stay – not a big problem for us but better to be not suppressed during checkin. Massage room was very cold and there is no nice SPA atmosphere there – it look rather like hospital… Generally it is OK for short stay in the city.

Feel good in Budapest”
Grand hotel Margitsziget is top for people who like 1900 old style, combined with access to modern thermal facilities: Steam baths, several pools (biggest 20m long). The area around is a parc without traffic, ideal for children, jogging and walkabouts. In summer, terrace, a beer garden and an outdoor pool are available. Good bus/tram connection to the city, spacious free parking for residents. Price/quality relation for rooming and nutrition is excellent.

Magical location ”
I previously visited Budapest and stayed in a budget hotel. The service was poor as were the facilities. I was with my wife and young daughter this time, so wanted something more suitable and chose this hotel. This hotel is the best location in Budapest. The island is beautiful, safe, clean and ideal for young children. Combine that with a hotel where the staff are determined to make sure your stay is special and spa facilities 2nd to none, I would highly recommend you stay here. The only down side is it's limited with choice for a shop for supplies and restaurants or bars; you have to travel in to town. We paid for taxis at a tenner a time, but there is a bus over the bridge (no 26 from 2 mins walk) and the a metro - 30 mins you are at the centre for £3. In summary if you are a stag do, stay somewhere central. If you're a family who can plan ahead, this place is perfect. Thank you for a faultless stay.

Grand Hotel in beautiful and quiet environment”
A grand hotel to take time out and recharge: stylish rooms, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast buffet and pleasant and cleanly wellness facilities. My first choice in Budapest with good value for money.

so relaxing”
On a positive side the hotel is full of old fashioned charm and character, it is located on the peaceful Margit island a 2.5km long public park, and the hotel is linked to the lovely spa in the adjacent hotel. On the downside there were public works in the park in Sept 2016 which made access to Budapest city centre quite difficult. In addition the third floor of the hotel is a bit tired, although it is advertised that it will be under renovation in October. Reception staff were excellent, housekeeping was a bit hit and miss. For a relaxing break near the historic city centre this would take some beating.

Vacancy ”
The hotel is located on Margaret island, near to the Arpad Bridge. Access is easy enough.Hotel is old but was renovated, which provides added value. Our room was large and spacious. The cleanliness was fine. The staff was friendly and well intentioned. Breakfast is rich, adapting to the style of every tourist.

FROM MONASTERY TO HAREM TO PARADISE”
My favorite is my view of lush old trees and the remains of a medieval pool, all just outside my window. The location, of course, monastery-turned-harem-turned-public garden and it helps that with one ride on bus 26 you're in and out of the island. It helps that people at reception, especially the lady, are all smiles and respectful, and seem to have your best interest at heart. I love that there is also free use of the spa, pool, steam room, though, I think, the guy manning reception should be more personable. He is just about as cold as the pool is warm. Other than that very minor quirk, I'd recommend Danubius highly to friends, especially to friends who l'm sure will find delight running or jogging along the banks of the Danube or reading on the grass or the benches on the riverbank or in the shade of the ancient trees.

Weekend trip”
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Although it was short (2 nights only), we were pretty satisfied with it. Please remember to bring your bathing suit if you want a dip into the thermal pool.

A hotel with great thermal bath”
Hotel with an obvious great tradition. The greatest advantage is in the excellent thermal bath, green environment and tranquillity. A good option for a holiday. Buffet offer is solid, although it could be better, especially with vegetarian choices.

Mediocre hotel”
The hotel is in my opinion overrated on Agoda. A la carte food was good, breakfast was overpriced for quality for EUR 15. Rooms were spacious in classical style however, a old and in worn condition. The hotel has an ambiance of a cutting-edge hotel of the mid-nineties.

Comfortable Hotel in a peaceful location”
The hotel has been refurbished to a high standard unusual for a hotel of its type. The spar has very good facilities and you simply must go during your stay as although it is in a separate area, it has underground access and is included as part of your hotel bill.

Peaceful hotel to stay”
Nice hotel to stay and it's quiet good location on a beautiful island but a bit far from downtown. If you would like to eat out then it must be the long walk for you around 30 minutes to get there. The staff at the reception were polite. I did not like the pillow because it was too soft and small for me.Every morning I awoke the always got headache from it. The toilet is so small and not so convenient. The furniture in the hotel is quite old, the double room was too small. Overall we love this hotel and it has such a beautiful surrounding around the hotel as well. The breakfast was ok but not so good for me.

City break”
This hotel is a 30 min walk through a park to the city centre, a bit scary on a dark evening, although you can get a bus, hotel is lovely but the bedroom carpet etc is in desperate need of replacement, very sparse on tea coffee, milk etc, shower over the bath and is high to get in and out,

Rundown hotel, nightmare! ”
Rundown hotel, nightmare! The hotel was 75% a nightmare: I booked 10 days at the Grant Hotel last month based on its 4-star reviews and expected 4-star service, and I was completely appalled! We arrived at the hotel and were not greeted by anyone. After about 10 minutes of seeing no one, a doorman finally arrived in a run-down uniform and unable to speak or even understand a word of English. I’ll admit my pillow covers, bed sheets, blankets, etc. were spotless, and our rooms were a good size with nice views, the rest of our hotel room was run down and worn out. It was full of stinky carpets, dusty curtains and windows, atrocious bathrooms with old pipes (that barely worked!), etc. the bathrooms had hotel products, but they must have been extremely old since the soap didn’t bubble when I tried to wash my hands! When it came to asking for service, just forget about it. Our rooms were barely touched during our stay, when I asked for a coffee they would say yes and never bring it to me. 25% positive I do have to give credit to upper management trying to solve our problems; their personal was just not responsive. Other positive aspects of the hotel would include - Thermal pool - Medical spa - Day spa - Hotel Restaurant (provided a good breakfast but for 15 Euro overpriced and horrible service) Overall, it was a horrible experience. I don’t recommend anyone staying here unless their main goal is to use their medical spa and spa.
