We spent four days in December.Excellent and friendly staff ready to assist at any time. Very clean hotel, rich breakfest, and a very relaxing SPA. I would highly recommend this hotel and go there again.

Do not recommend to eat there, tried most of the menu and it was all bad. Did not try the breakfast or dinner buffet at the other restaurant so can't say anything about that.

Not happy”
Rooms are overaged, hot & stuffy, I could only open 1 tiny window halfway which didn't help much, air condition wasn't working properly, when I asked why? they said that it isn't that hot outside so only the cooling/ventilation system works, so no air conditioning, Beds? it's basically a thick sponge which when you lie down you sink in it till you reach the wooden base, add the heat of the room & you'll have a good(?) night's sleep, NOT !!!

Lovely hotel excellent location”
As above as well as a nice quiet area of Budapest. A nice 20 minute stroll into the historic city of Budapest. Handy for transport if you don't feel like walking such as the underground metro which is only a 5 minute walk away. The staff at the hotel will only be too pleased to ring a taxi which will probarbly cost around £10 to the town centre. The breakfast at the hotel which will also cost around £10 is excellent with a large variety of healthy foods. Spoilt for choice!! All this and much more from the helpful staff make a stay at the Danubius Helia a comfortable and quiet relaxing stay as well as good value for money. I have stayed here twice now in the past 2 months an will be most definately bookig this hotel for a short stay again in June 2013.

City Vacation”
Coming from Vienna airport by rental car we enjoyed our 4 days stay in Budapest thoroughly and the Danubius Helia was the key to it! A secluded car park with ample space is available in front of the hotel at Euro 10,- per day. Daytime excursions in the city were followed by in-house spa sessions before dinner. The spa was well frequented, but never overcrowded. Great dining recommendations by the friendly staff at the reception desk. The vast breakfast buffet selection was a good start into the day. We booked a room with river view which turned out to be the right choice., nice panorama and quiet. The weak points of the hotel are the slow lift and an aircon in the room which does not deserve it's name! Overall I can highly recommend this place if you look for a place away from the hustle & bustle of the downtown area, but still in the vicinity of Budapest.

Great Spa Hotel! ”
Excellent Hotel, with Spa included in the room prices which allows you to fully relax and enjoy thermal waters. The Spa section provides three amazing thermal pools, along with other services which must be booked in advance (massages, salt therapy ecc). The price you pay is hundred percent worth by the thermal pools alone! If you request in advance the superior rooms (6th floor, by paying a little bit more than the standard price) you will enjoy an amazing view on the Danube. We were delighted with such view! The only minus we noticed about the rooms is that a) they were not very large/spatious and felt a bit small & b) you can't open the windows which are kept locked and without the handle. This felt a little strange since we usually need to open windows to air out the room and get a little fresh air ourselves. Nothing else except these odd things. The hotel is kept always very clean and tidy and the hotel staff is professional, discreet, kind and friendly. A wonderful experience we had also in the hotel restaurant both at dining (during which you choose between the a la carte service and selfservice dishes) and breakfast. The breakfast is super rich and includes a wide variety of foods ranging from the classic european breakfast (based on some pastry and croissants) to the typical north american one (fried/scrumbled eggs, bacon, salami) but also includes a spot for those oriented towards a more healthy/organic breakfast. Also it has a very rich variety of fruits. Only downside regarding breakfast is the lack of freshly made cakes and pies! It would be awesome being able to find some tasty cheesecakes, muffins, puddings or apple pies! Albeit there's nothing to say about the food quality which is very good (both in the morning and during the evening). The position of the structure is also strategic. Its not really close to the city centre, reachable only by metro (the nearest metro station is about 10 minutes on foot by the hotel) or bus (should the me

Danube Views with superb facilities”
We've stayed here a number of times now - the staff in the reception and bar/cafe area always remember us and welcome us. The facilities are excellent - much better than many of the 5* hotels in Budapest - very relaxing and as effective as going to any of the thermal baths. The hotel is located opposite Margaret Island, we had a fantastic view of the Danube and Buda Hills. Transport connections are good - using either the 75/76 tram, the M3 metro, or just enjoying the walk along the Danube.

The hotel Helia was a nice hotel near a quiet area in budapest, the service was exellent without anything to complain.The metro was not than 3 min walk from the hotel if you want to go downtown

Nice hotel with good facilities”
Very clean hotel with courteous staff on the outskirts of the city with good transport links via trams that stop outside close to hotel.Excellent spa facilities if like us you get stuck in the hotel because of cold wintry weather. Will use the hotel again when me and my wife go back to Budapest later this year.

A perfect place to stay in Budapest. An real 4 star hotel with all the facilities. You must not miss their breakfast... Its simply superb. Though reception staff come across rude, it is worth to stay in the hotel.

A good, quiet hotel for a relaxing short break”
Although a little out of the way of the centre this in no way was a drawback. There is a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station and 4 stops to the central area where you can interchange to the other metro lines. On a nice day you could walk it, along the riverside. There is of course buses and trolly bus routes nearby too. Almost in front of the hotel is a good supermarket and an Aldi 15 minutes away in direction to the city. The room was nicely furnished, quiet, clean, comfortable, warm and roomy enough for a couple. Bathtub & shower with plenty of hot water. The spa/pool, buffet b/fast, management, room service very good and reasons I have no hesitation in recommending.

Not too central but a nice hotel with very friendly staff. Takes just a couple of minutes by Metro to reach the City Centre (walking distance to the nearest Metro station: 8 +/- minutes ).

Good for Relaxing”
We were the only Young couple there. Its very good for Relaxing. The biggest Plus was the Fitness Room and the nice Interior. The Staff was friendly. Just the Rooms Were cleant only 1-2 in These 8 days. It’s very far from the Center ( you cant just Walk when it’s cold, you have to use public transpartation or Taxi . Its a very quite place around the hotel area, but for relaxing , spa, wellness etc you have everything you need and a lot of open space so you feel comfortable.

It is a good hotel with swimming pool and hot spring service. Breakfast and lunch buffet is good, but hotel servie is not good enough, i ever asked hotel to hire a taxi to meet me at the airport and show them my credit card number. They replied my mail and confirm, but did not put it into action. Internet service is not good.

Nice hotel with helpful staff”
even arriving late at night the staff were very helpful. breakfasts were good value for money. room was more than large enough for our requirements. only one slight improvement comment - western europeans might appreciate having milk left in the room with the coffee sachets.
