A diamond by name and nature”
I will be honest, i was tossing up between this motel and a beachside resort and the only reason I chose Dao Diamond was because of a warm fuzzy feeling for helping the deaf in a country with limited welfare for people with disabilities. From the time we arrived I found the stay absolutely perfect. The staff, other than the reception, are all deaf. They are extremely attentive and eager to please and, it shows by their actions, extremely happy. Tours of the island are on offer at short notice and are good value. Restaurant wise, foods are delicious and reasonably priced. In the time we stayed there we tried most of the menu and it was all very good but the pork steak was amazing and the pizza is to die for. Facilities are good and provided entertainment and fun. The only thing lacking was a fully fledged bar for anything other than beer. All in all the experience was excellent and knowing that my money was going to a good cause as opposed to corporate profits makes it even better.

- Friendly receptionists and awesome staff. Bunch of really happy and smiling staff. Seems like a good place to work. - There is an ICM mall nearby, 20 php by tricycle, one way. The mall has the regular jollybee and kfc. Some good pizza options too. - Cafe at the hotel has very few food options and a bit expensive. Rather eat out. - The hotel has couple of bohol tour packages (car and van). Maybe a bit expensive for a couple. Probably suits a bigger group. Its priced at 2000php and up, which includes just the transportation. Not worth according to me. All the parking fees, entrance fees and food has to be borne by the guests. We tried the local bus transport which ended up being quite cheap and one of the best experiences. The locals are quite friendly and helping so need not worry about being lost or taken for a ride. Just make sure you have planned the places to visit properly, as buses back to Tagbilaran are a bit rare post 4pm.

Affordable place to stay in Bohol”
Dao Diamond Hotel and Restaurant is affordable place to stay in the city of Bohol. We just stay there to sleep because our itinerary was so hectic. They offer free breakfast too. Good thing with them is they accept Deaf staff which I really appreciated. Helping unfortunate people like them. The unit is clean. They also have romantic and relaxing restaurant ambiance.

I like the hotel very much,coz the place are very quiet and located in a fresh and very relaxing place.The staff also are very accomodating and friendly,toatlly they in good service.I wish to come back again in diamond hotel on my next vacation.Dao Diamond is the hotel that i can recommend to all of my friends locally and from abroad..Hopefully,you will improve more,like for example in putting even a little fridge inside the room for more convenience of your guest...Thats it and God bless.

Value for your Money with a Cause”
the room was spacious enough for a cheap room. i'd say you will get more than your money's worth. great hotel lobby and as you spend on your stay with dao, part, if not all, of the proceeds are for the benefit of deaf children. one slight problem that we encountered was the food service. probably my luck, the hotel had an event that they had to ask all available workers to come and serve during the event. with this, their in-house restaurant/cafe was left with one waiter to serve almost 5 tables at the same time. given such, our food came out of the kitchen an hour after we placed our orders considering that our food would only take less than 30 minutes to prepare. i am guessing that the kitchen was also undermanned since waiting on 5 tables was quite normal. normally, i would immediately escalate my complaint to the manager but since the waiter was deaf, i opted to cut him some slack considering that the hotel's operations are for a good cause. i suggest that they should have additional staff specifically for events. that way, the quality of service to other guests would not suffer.

The room was a bit old but okay. I like the extra beds included in the room. The breakfast was good and delicious. The pool was also okay, thanks for filling the small pool with water for the kids. cozy hotel, we like it!”
my friend and i stayed here just for a night. it was a random choice but we felt we were soooo lucky to book in here! the room was more than what we expected - good-sized bed, roomy room, tv with cable, very clean restroom and super nice staff. the provided breakfast was really delicious (we loved their french toast!). credit card payments for additional food orders are accepted. hotel pick-up and send-off was a real convenience! the place is also near in their local mall. we even watched a movie here and did our grocery. transportation was affordable (php 15 each, tuktuk/tricycle, available until midnight). we both concluded that when we come back in tagbilaran city, we'll definitely stay here. again.

Peaceful and relaxing place to stay”
The hotel has friendly, deaf mute staffs to serve you which is good as they give working opportunities to these people. The lounge and restaurant is very welcoming as you enter the hotel, ambience is really cool that could ease off your worries. They also have a nice pool at the side of building if you want to refresh yourself. The best part is their free buffet breakfast which starts at 6:30am, lots of choices (Filipino or Western). The rooms are spacious and very comfy, worth the value of your money. Will stay here again if time permits of another Bohol trip. 😄

Very good value for money”
We are expirienced travelers in South East Asia wih children aged 7 and 5 . We found this hotel on Agoda when stopping over one night in Tagbilaran. We were checked in efficiently and without hassel. We were informed that a pick up service in harbour or at airport is included. Since we did not know that, they offered us a free ride in Tagbilaran! There is a big mall (Island City Mall) not far that we visited. The hotel have a clean and quite big pool. Our room was quite spacious with a very comfortable bed. It was clean. The hotel have a restaurant that cooked very good food in the evening. The breakfast was also good. What we did not know was that the hotel is owned by an association for deaf people, and many in the crew were deaf. That gave an extra positive meaning of it. We were very good taken care of, and it is good value for money. We can truly recommend it, and we will certainly come back on next occasion.

Great service. We booked this hotel due to its location, only 15 mins away from the airport. Their TV is pretty old school but rooms come with fridge and microwave which was very useful. I tried their breakfast and to my surprise the waiter was deaf and it is just amazing that this establishment offers job for challenged individuals. Food was awesome by the way. They also have free airport transfer and the van was very comfortable. The hotel is also near Island City Mall, the biggest mall in Tagbilaran.

Only spent one night here but it was one of the best hotels I found in the Philippines. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was clean and had everything you need and it was all in a nice peaceful area just outside of Tagbilaran. The hotel is connected to the Garden Cafe in town which also employs deaf staff (and is also worth checking out - nice cakes!). Staff could also give helpful advice on touring and travelling around. Overall, highly recommended.

A good cause”
Staying at the Dao Diamond, which makes a point of hiring blind/deaf individuals and supports the blind/deaf community, feels like a good cause. The staff there were very helpful and nice - you just have to be aware that some of the staff may be deaf and you need to make sure they see your mouth when you are speaking (or use gestures to point and illustrate your communications). The rooms themselves were a little underwhelming compared to the Agoda photos, but weren't horrible or unacceptable. Basic breakfast was also offered. Sightseeing tours can be arranged at the front desk, though the price was a bit steep.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Dao. I admire the advocacy to hire local deafs as Hotel Staff. No problem in terms of communication as the staff from the Front Desk are able to communicate verbally and with the use of Sign Language, the staff can also read lips. Everyone is accommodating and friendly. The room that we had is very spacious, hotel is always clean and the facilities are well maintained. Wifi service is good. I would recommend this hotel for its service and advocacy. Portion of the hotel profits also helps deaf kids on their developmental needs.

It was generally peaceful and quiet in there. The deaf staff are attentive and efficient. The hotel transfer was prompt and patient in waiting for us at the port of Tagbilaran, even though our ferry was a little bit delayed. The staff at the reception was so accommodating to the extent that they favorably bought us our return ticket. The management has quick response on requests of clients.

I was delighted to see the beautiful hotel.the staff are all so nice and accommodating.Their staff except for the receptionists were all deaf.this hotel provides a source of income to them which is very good and likewise supports hearing impaired children in Bohol and Cebu.i would definitely stay here on my next Bohol staycation.

One of the best beach resort in Bohol”
when i first checked in to this resort, i thought i made a big mistake on my bookinds. i was planning to stay at alona beach, bohol for my first vacation in visayas with my family, but then came across kaylaa's beach resort, which i thought was part of panglao island, but it wasn't. my first impression was this might be a lousy resort, very far from the city, not convenient to buy food, water and souvenirs, no night life and entertainment. after our first night, i really enjoyed the ambiance, the sea, the hammock, free massage and crowdless place. i felt like i needed time to relax, meditate, especially when we are so busy working, no time to enjoy life and relax, so this is ideal place to unwind and relax for vacation. i enjoyed the food very much, way better than the food offered in loboc river cruise. the most interesting about this resort is the staffs, upon check out, we misplaced our son's shoes, when i called them at night, around 10pm, they still manage to take my call and find my son's shoes, following day, they drive kilometers of highways just to return my son's shoes. impressive resumes on these staff, especially in this crazy mixed up world, where people tend to be dishonest. kudos to all the staff of kaylaa's beach resort!
