Good value hotel in great location !”
The Dara Reang Sey is a very good value hotel situated in an excellent location close to the Riverside, Bars and Central Market. The rooms are spacious but are now becomming dated and could do with an upgrade. Also, there is no lift. However, the staff are very friendly and helpful and offer free pick up from the bus station.
Good place to stay ”
We enjoyed our stay at the Dara Reang Sey hotel. The room was large and comfortable and the hotel is situated just two blocks back from the riverfront.
Great location and free internet”
We booked this hotel prior to our trip to Siem Reap and upon our return to Phnom Penh before flying back to the US. It was perfect for the price and centrally located.
Central location, a short walk to the Riverside”
The hotel is ideally located on the corner of 13th Street (which leads to the National Museum and Royal Palace, a 10-minute walk away) and 18th Street (which leads to the Riverfront, less than a 5-minute walk away). It has a restaurant on the ground floor that opens very early and closes late, but breakfast was not included in the booking for the room. There's a nice bakery about a block away, though, that sells fresh baguettes. The hotel seems to be popular as our tuktuk drivers and the bus company (from Siem Reap) were familiar with it, so no problem finding it. There is no elevator and the climb to our second floor room was a little steep but we had a nice balcony overlooking the cafes on the corner. I'd probably book again if I return to Phnom Penh.
Dara Reang Sey Hotel is "OK", which means that we didn't regret to stay there for one night, but it was also not a hotel that you must stay at if you stay in Phnom Pengh because of its great location or cheap prices. The location is quite good, although the hotel is directly at a pretty busy street. A good thing is that right below the hotel is a nice soup kitchen (where we went for breakfast as it was not included at the hotel).
Great location but not worth the rent paid”
Dear Customer care, No doubt the hotel is centrally located very close to river side. Except location there is nothing special for the price paid. No break fast, its not only the hotel, its hotel cum restaurant run by the family members I stayed for 4 nights and the concerns are as listed below: - Three days no wi-fi connection available. - When ever go drop your key at the reception and after return you will find the AC power switched off. Upon your request they switch on the electricity. - The soap they provide is so Tiny that you don't feel its in your hand and you are applying soap in your body. - Although there is hot water in the shower; unless you switch on the small on/off button which is behind the bath room door and is not visible when the door opened. When I complained after three days having cold shower, Ms. Dara smilingly tells me that I should switch on the power which is behind the door. The hotel management expects that all visitors should be knowing it! - Third day around 02.00 PM the TV channel got disconnected until next day morning 10.00 AM there is nothing in the TV to watch. You are forced to go out and spend time. - The hotel is not equipped with individual safety box. Your belonging should be kept in a plastic bag and raped with sealing tape tagged with your name and room number and given to Ms. Dara; who in turn will keep it in a bng safety locked and keep the key with her. This is some thing unusual and not seen any where and you will not feel comfortable to take things when ever you need. The amount the we pay is not worth staying in this hotel. Best regards Hameed
Low budget Hotel with the best rooms and service ”
I did not expect anything when I booked that Hotel, and I was very surprised when I saw the room. It was a big clean room, with a comfortable bed, furniture, a door to a kind of balcony, fridge with drinks, cafe and tea. The Hotel has also a Travel Office and they arrange for you quick and easy all what you need. The Hotel is in the middle of the city / Riverside. But there was no traffic and no noise in the evening and during the night. I had a good sleep. For the evening it is very easy to go a few meter and you are at the bog Mekong River. There are also a lot of Restaurants and Bars and Massage Shops. So everybody will find something for his pleasure.
Worth for money”
The room is clean, included with air-conditioning and wifi. It also have ample space for Muslim to pray inside the room. The hotel is located near to the Riverside, walking distance to night market and old market. For Muslim, there are few Halal restaurants nearby. Overall, I think the hotel is worth for money.
This is a very good listed hotel. The staff were king, helpful, and very caring. I like that. The beds are clean and comfortable. The A/C worked great and there is a balcony to see all the lively activity around you. The river walk area is only 2 blocks away and the walk itself it entertaining. You will enjoy this hotel on a very reasonable budget. Enjoy!
Great location budget hotel”
For a budget hotel, we weren't expecting much, but I have to say we were pleasantly surpised. The hotel was clean with friendly staff, a bustling bar and tour office. The room was large, spotless and very comfortable. We have paid a lot more elsewhere and no had this standard. A great little hotel.
Good breakfast and a mini swimming pool”
Good and convient hotel in Cambodia Siem Reap! I think it is a good price Hotel!
Great location at the city centre”
This hotel is all about location as the establishment is basically a hotel located atop a restaurant on the street so we did not expect 5 star amenities or service. The hotel is right in the centre and near to markets and various eateries and restaurants. Our room was adequate and the air con and hot water shower were good. We had to ask for a kettle jug and the mini fridge in our room was not working. However, the staff was ever ready to assist us and that was a plus.
great location, the rooms are adequate”
i enjoyed my stay, so much so my girlfriend and I stayed a few more nights. the place is clean, everything worked well. i like the outdoor porch very much. you could really see the life of the city. i have stayed at many hotels in the area. i use to stay at the lux, but they raised their rates by.. this is my 3rd trip to Cambodia. i like being near the river front and i also like being a block away from it because it is quieter.
Centrally located hotel at an affordable price”
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and it never disappoints me. What I like the most is it's central location to resturants, bars and nightlife and of course very close to the river boardwalk. It is a bit noisy but if you can tolerate this you get good value for the price.
Centrally located Hotel”
The hotel is very competitively priced at a good location. There is a nice and affordable restaurant on the main floor. There are no elevators and there is currently some construction/renovation repairs going on so it is somewhat noisy during the day
Nice hotel with a superb location”
a good tourist hotel located right in the middle of the town - close to markeds and the lovely baldwark at the riverfront. also close to good restaurants and bars. very nice and helpful staf and a good restaurant at the corner. even though i though i had orderet a room with a nive big dobbeltbed, i got a room with twinbeds, which was a little disapointing. and you were allowed to smoke in the room, which becomes more and more rare.
The hotel is simple but offers you everything you require. I must mention that their customer service is excellent and that the hotel is centrally located to many tourist sites.
great location and rooms are big for three of us.”
we stayed on the first floor of the hotel. room was large with 3 single beds. transport was readily available right at the doorstep.boiling kettle with free coffee and tea readily available.for 1 dollar, we can have a moto ride to the central market and 1.5 dollar to the grand palace. if ever i have to stay at this hotel again , i would go for a higher floor as the first floor that we stayed continued to have the smell of food being prepared at the resturant downstaira.
Gets the Job Done Overall”
I got a room on the third floor, no lift. Room smelled a bit funky. But looked very clean. No mosquito screen on the window. Room description (as I recall) said "balcony" but no balcony....well, on the top floor you could walk out to a shared balcony/patio area with some seating and shade overlooking the intersection. That was actually pretty sweet. Staff were (in the Cambodian tradition) extremely polite. Asked for a cup of ice at the restaurant and the woman was surprised when I handed her the equivalent of 50 cents (yeah, ok, I'm sure I'm overpaying but it's the thought). I'm getting older and would probably pay more for a slightly better place next time, but this wasn't the end of the world. Very good location for my purposes.
Centrally located with ease of access to F&B ”
The hotel is centrally located within easy reach to the riverfront and the Royal Palace. There is great variety of cuisines around to enjoy. However, the hotel is a bit rundown and has no elevator. There is a bit of climbing to be done as my room is located on the 3rd storey. Overall, it is still value for money as the rooms is clean and comfortable.
