Avoid Room 101”
We booked 3 double rooms via Agoda for a Saturday night stay following a family party in the Nottingham area. We checked in about 9.30 pm and were told that only 2 rooms had been booked, but were able to show a printed copy of booking form. After about 10 minutes, 3 key cards were handed over. Two of our rooms (101 & 105) turned out to be smoking rooms – all of us are non smokers who have never smoked. Such rooms should only be allocated if guests agree to this and we weren’t told, finding out from the room notices. Most will be surprised that such rooms are still legal as they are a workplace for hotel staff. The hotel was fully booked and could not offer other rooms. Room 101 particularly lived up to its dubious Orwellian reputation: the room and all linen (sheets and towels) stank of smoke; surfaces were dirty with stains and cigarette burns; the bathroom extractor fan didn’t work so no chance of drawing fresh air into the room by leaving it running; even worse, the shower was discovered the next morning to be unusable as the temperature control dial had broken, fixing the water temperature at scalding. We complained at the reception desk at check out and were sympathetically listened to by the temporary receptionist and the housekeeper who told us that Room 101 should not have been allocated at all due to known faults. The hotel manager was on annual leave and we were given her email address to raise our complaints. In fairness, Room 105, the other smoking room, smelt, but was “clean” enough. Room 118 was OK. All rooms were on the A50 side so traffic noise is inevitable with open windows, as there is no AC. We infer that the evening receptionist had insufficient rooms to fulfil our booking and knowingly allocated an unclean room with broken shower to provide a short term fix.

Old, tired, smelly”
An old Days inn hotel located in a motorway services, good location and friendly staff, however none of this means anything if the room has a pungent musky smell, a couch with so many stains on it impossible to count with a bed as old and used as the hotel. This place needs an overhaul, I won't be staying again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

Nice and spacious room. Big bathroom. ”
Spacious. Value for money and comfortable.
Wish there is a signboard for Days Inn at the highway. If you missed the junction, the turning back is confusing and long about 10KM. We missed a couple of times and wasted at least more than an hour just to make U turns. So signboard is very important for management to consider.

Good location and quiet.”
Good to be able to get hot drink and food.
I arrived at 10.45 pm and was greeted by a very polite and helpful member of staff, who made me feel safe and welcome. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed with extra pillows available in wardrobe. In the morning I asked for extra coffee and milk which was promptly delivered to my room by another friendly and polite member of staff who then helped me with planning the remainder of my journey with his local knowledge. Thankyou.

Big room but not in good location”
Nil
This hotel is quite far away from the Derby city centre, every time we need to call taxi to pick up us and in the centre we also have to wait for a taxi to return to the hotel. Unfortunately, ALL the taxi drivers did not know where the hotel is ? I travel it five times, it nearly waste me around 80 pounds.
