Awesome!”
We loved our stay at De Balquis. It is right on the beach with the spectacular beach view. It a very calm and charming place without any crowd or noise. There are couple of decent restaurants nearby and also one that delivers food which you have can have by the beach side at the outdoor tables provided. There is a watersports facility (jet ski) and mangrove tours at just a stone's throw away distance. The TanjungRhu jetty is very close by. We were able to book a grab to reach this location easily and though we hired a cab for the day that we spent there, I think we could have easily managed by booking grab for wherever we wanted to go. Cab drivers hired for all day charge additional amount beyond 8 hours. You can swim in the beach or lay in a hammock all day. The room was spacious and bathroom was basic but clean and overall extremely reasonable for the price. The owners who live within the same compound, are extremely helpful and kind. They dropped us to the airport free of cost as we had to reach the airport at 6.30am for our early morning flight and were facing difficulty in booking grab that early in the morning. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful place. The beach just 20ft from the door. Feel like private beach, not so many tourist come to this area. You got to see the sunset from your window. Spacious parking. The owner very friendly. Favourite place to stay everytime come to Langkawi. Thank you for the great hospitality.

Best for budget stay”
Maintenance can be work on, there is minor things such as cloth racks was missing and was nit replaced. We like that the chalet have big dustbin outside the room it is convenience for us to throw away smelly diapers. Basic necessities is complete, no complaint on that. Have plenty of local restaurants nearby and even night market on friday at the roundabout area. Must try Dawan restaurant as their thai cuisine is delicious. For family with young children is better to stay in cenang or pantai tengah area because the beach is shallow, here it is quite deep and beach have a lot of seashells. It is just next to main road so at night can be really noisy. But overall we have a pleasant stay here.

Spectacular location”
Listing was a bit misleading--we booked what i thought was the chalet as it was listed as a chalet and the photos showed the chalet, but they gave us a room upstairs in the main building. The stairs were very steep, my mom had to go up and down very slowly. Just be aware of this and contact them to make sure you're getting what you booked.

This place is right next to the beach. You get your own private beach space at your door steps. Seasports facilities are available just less than 100 metres walk down the beach. Perfect instagramable beach front cafe that serves good fish & chips , chicken chop , beer and the coolest iced Lime Boi . Must go!!

You get to enjoy the beach in peace”
Our room was just right in front of the beach, which was amazing! You can just hear the waves at night when you’re sleeping. We had breakfast in front of our chalet everyday enjoying the morning view before we started our day. Basically you have your own private beach with less people. Amenities provided are basic and enough for us as we have our car so we can just drive out to get other stuff if we need any. Food wise, there are the fish & chips shop and there is this Thai restaurant nearby which is absolutely delicious. There is also a Jetski rental just along the beach so you won’t have to go to other beaches to have fun. Only thing we would like to see is that if the place can be refurbished since it’s kind of overused and rundown a little bit, especially you can see in the toilet. Otherwise, all are great and we would love to be back here again!

I would rate this resort 200 out of 10! Tanjung Rhu definitely the best spot if you're looking to quiet, calm, private place. My fam and i enjoyed our 3d2n at de balqis. easy to find food for breakfast&dinner, also mart. the scenery was just tooo magnificient!

Such a underrated chalet”
Overlooking beautiful Pantai Tanjung Rhu, this chalet is a gem! The clear, turquoise hue beach is just in front of my room. The beach vibes were surreal. You'll be sleeping with the wave sounds endlessly. The room was just okay for me; don't expect much for the affordable price that you paid but they provided iron, iron board, fridges, tv, toiletries, telekung, sejadah & I think I've seen mosquito coil too. The chalet area was nice too; I think the owner really loves gardening. I'll definitely will stay here again

Epic location on the beach but don't expect luxury”
There is no question that I loved my stay at De Balquis. The chalet was literally on the beach with the waves rolling in all day and all night. It is a beautiful location in Langkawi and a very different experience from Penang Centai. There are hardly any tourists here which is part of the charm. Don't expect endless restaurants and tourist attractions here. It's mainly just a beach where you can swim or lay in a hammock all day. The chalet I stayed was not luxurious but everything worked and the staff were friendly and helpful even if they could not speak much English. On a final note, I have stayed in some expensive hotels in Langkawi but the experience of staying here was my favourite..

Beach front accommodation”
Amazing beach-front chalet, you will fall asleep to the sound of the waves. I stayed in Chalet No. 2 (don't have to deal with stairs) and was happy with the location. We had trouble with the malfunctioning tv, one of the power outlets, and the lock but all issues were resolved promptly. The toilet needs more cleaning, there were stains inside the bowl and around the cover and seats. You can order food from nearby Thai place (Dawan Thai) and they would deliver right to your doorstep. There is a menu provided in the room. Overall we are happy with our stay!
