Good location and specious ”
not too far fromJR Nippori station or closer subway Sendagi station. there are many supermarkets nearby the hotel. specious room and nice service from the owner.he also gave us a suvenir.

Still as excellence”
This is our second stay here. We last stayed here in 2006 and we are back again, this time, with 2 kids for a 4 pax room. The owners are still extremely friendly and the place is still good. Located in the middle of a traditional local town with a 7-eleven and a drug store nearby where you can get stuff. About 2 mins away from Sengadi station (Tokyo Metro) and about 10mins away from JR Nippori. Love this place. Would stay a 3rd time for a next visit!

Authentic stay in Tokyo”
Owners of the ryokan were very friendly and helpful. Traditional Japanese style room was spacious and we enjoyed the futon experience. Many shops, restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Close to transport (JR and metro) while being able to enjoy a quiet area of Tokyo.

Close to Sendagi Sta. (Tokyo Metro) + Yanaka Ginza and a good walk to Nippori Sta. (JR & Keisei for Narita) + Nezu Shrine, Annex Katsutaro Ryokan is an affordable ryokan room experience and a great alternative to hostel dorm rooms and capsule hotels for solo travelers. This is my second trip to Tokyo and my sleep was so much better this time. Even though it’s further north in the map of greater Tokyo, I didn’t have any problems at all getting to the places I wanted to visit (even far ones like Shinjuku or Odaiba) because of the 2 nearby stations and bus stop. Will stay here again and recommend to friends

Location is pretty good. Staff can speak some English, but not very friendly. I travelled as a solo female and this seems to turn some eyebrows among staff here. Anyway good for a short stay...

Excelent ryokan like room, with tatamis, fridge, tea, full bathroom, just a block from subway, and only 5minutes from Ueno Station. Stay here!

Nice stay in Annex Katsutaro Ryokan”
It was my first time to go Japan alone. When I arrived my hostel and got into my room, I felt like I was at home with Japanese style. Remarkable location of the property where it takes a ten-minute walk to Nippori Station. Will definitely stay again !

Great location and a basic room”
If you are flying in from Narita, this place is quite convenient beacsue of its proximity to Nippori station, where we got direct trains to the airport. The metro station is just minutes away. The neighborhood is quiet with the market just round the corner. It got interesting during the weekend with nice street food and souvenir. Our room is a reasonably small one. It is clean. The room is not new, we saw some sign of age, but it was not not a problem. Amenities are basic. We got clean towels, bath robe, shampoo, shower gel, tooth paste and toothbrush. Our 3 night stay was comfortable. Staff was helpful and kind.

Ryokan style accom in traditional local neighbourhood”
Second stay. Ryokan style rooms in a modern building with excellent amenities as you would expect from typical hotels. Staff were friendly and patient in explaining hotel features and surrounding attractions. After 11pm, enter by side door using keycode shared during check-in, fuss-free. Location is middle of traditional local neighbourhood with a shopping street nearby. Within 10-15 minutes walking distance to Nippori Station, and there is a minibus service bus stop opposite the hotel to Asakusa temple area.

Annex Ryokan Katsutaro”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, as it was a perfect blend of the traditional Japanese ryokan style & the budget & convenience of a more modern hotel. The location is great, as it is only 3 mins walk from the subway & 10-15 mins from 2 JR stations. The local area of Yanaka is quiet but fascinating culturally & you can walk/cycle to Ueno Park & the National Museum if you don't want to take the short train ride.

Spacious rooms, modern place in lovely Nippori”
we narrowed down our stay in nippori to two hotels: sawanoya ryokan and annex katsutaro. we ended up staying at both, and both have their own unique individual strengths. if you're looking for a more "traditional" experience, i would go with sawanoya ryokan. but if you're looking for more spacious rooms, a more modern experience, and your own private bathroom, annex katsutaro is the better choice. nippori is one my favorite neighborhoods of tokyo. quaint, friendly, and like nothing else. annex katsutaro is very convenient to jr nippori station.

very lovely cozy Japanese style room ”
the room - i really love the room as it is those traditional style japanese room in tatami. very cozy and neat and clean. individual bathroom so no need to share bath. location - it's absolutely excellent as it's in a very quiet residential area where next to it is a lovely local market with all sorts of snacks and food. it's also to ueno station where you will find big shops, big streets.

离JR线与千代田线的车站都很近，旁边就是谷中银座，周边有许多便利店，非常方便

超级赞的日式旅馆”
住的超级舒服！！！老板人很好，不会日语会 英语也可以，周边是日本老式的街道，很安静，住的很舒服。距离大站日暮里10分钟路程，地铁5分钟，地理位置也无可挑剔。下次来还会继续选这家酒店。

日式民宿，房间空间大！”
酒店靠近千驮木地铁站，但是我买了JR PASS 七日券，每天需要走到日暮里JR站坐车，感觉稍微有点远，可能需要步行2.5公里-3公里左右的路程，不带行李的时候没啥，拖着行李就感觉很远。房间是日式床垫，空间很大，买回来的东西可以随意放，整体来说还是挺不错的！
